This video presents three techniques for managing trees in forested areas: (1) flesh cutting without herbicide for desirable trees that can resprout, which provides food for wildlife like deer; (2) flush cutting with herbicide (tricopir) applied to the outer ring of the stump to prevent resprouting of invasive species like Bradford pear; and (3) girdling, which involves cutting a ring around the trunk and spraying herbicide in the cut to kill standing trees. The choice of method depends on whether the tree is desirable or invasive, and whether resprouting is acceptable or needs to be prevented.

Three ways to Improve a forested area #biodiversity #nativeplants #oaksavannahAdded:
Here's three techniques to kill trees and help the ecosystem.
So, the first method is flesh cutting without herbicide. And you only do that when you have a desirable tree that you don't mind respouting. Reser sprouting isn't a bad thing all the time because that provides a lot of food for species like deer. The second method is flush cutting with herbicide. This is tricopir. It's a brush killer. And we're going to apply it to the outer ring of this stump. And you only apply it to the outer ring because that's where the tree is going to soak up this herbicide. I'm using herbicide because this is a Bradford pair. I do not want this thing resp sprouting. And you could say that we can use things like covering the stump. That stuff does not work.
Herbicide is the only way to make sure we're not just going to multiply the number of Bradford pairs here. The other reason I'm doing this is because this Bradford pair is really easy to move.
Unlike this private tree that we're going to kill standing using our third method called girdling. So with girdling, you cut a ring around the trunk and you spray herbicide in that cut and that kills the tree standing.
This is one that I girdled last year.
