This video demonstrates a Grade 5 math performance task where students calculate the total cost of care packages by adding individual item costs (Rice $185, Flour $170, Sugars $250, Ketchup $350, Soda $120) to find the unit cost ($1,025), then multiplying by the number of packages needed (10 packages = $10,250). Students also learn to compare unit prices between different stores by dividing total cost by quantity, and calculate time durations and fractions of total time for event planning.

GRADE 5 PERFORMANCE TASK CLASSAjouté :
We borrow.
Okay sir. Good night everyone. Math performance task instruction. Read these statements carefully before attempting to solve the problems. Make sure you show how you arrived at your answer in spaces provided on this paper. Complete the task in part one and answer questions in part 2. A sir, you're blocking the thing. I don't know.
Oh, and three instructions to begin. Carefully read the instructions to the task, then move on. You will be given 1 hour and 30 minutes. Determine the cost the costing of the care packages. You and the members of your 5H club at your school would like to deliver care packages in your community. The tables before shows the cost of each item in each package. Care package items and cost. Rice 3 kg cost $185.
Flour 3 g kilogram $170.
Sugars 5 kg $250, ketchup $350, and soda $120.
Question one, how much money will the members of the 5H club need to raise to deliver 10 care packages? So, first sir, so first you would add up the cost of the five items. So 185, 120, >> 250, >> 350, 120.
>> So >> sir, is that a six or a zero?
So 5 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 5 a + 2 10 + 5 15 + 5 20 + 2 22. So 2 and then the Yeah. So 2 + 1 3 + 1 give 4 + 2 gives you 6 + 3 gives you 9 + 1 gives you 10.
Then you would multiply 1,00 and 25 by 10.
>> 25 which equals to uh hold on.
Where where did I go there?
I don't hold on. I'm looking where I wrote it.
>> $10,250.
>> Thanks so much, Damari. Very good. I love the way you read. Big up your teacher when you go school for me. All right. He or she is doing a great job.
Great job. All right, Khalil, you're up next. So, from one boy to the next boy.
Let's see if I can find Khalil.
Big up your teacher, man. That's great.
All right, go ahead. Khalil not working.
Yes sir.
So question two says, "You are responsible for creating a flyer to encourage people in your community to donate funds towards purchasing the care packages. Design a table that shows the number of care packages that can be made based on the donation amount." So it says number of care packages 10 15 20 50 100 and then for 50 no sorry for 10 you would multiply you would multiply you would add first you you would add the cost which Is 350 250 120 + 120 + 185 plus 250 plus 120 which g which gives you 1,000 125.
So now you're going to multiply it by 10 which is which is 10,250.
Then for 15 you go search.
So for 15, you're going to the answer.
You're going to multiply 1,25 by 15, which is 15,375.
Then for 20, it's 20,500.
Then for then for fifth day it's 51,250.
And then for 100 it's 102,500.
Sorry, forgot your dollar signs. All right. Thanks so much, Javia, for filling in for Khalil.
All right, Zarya, you're up next, guys. I'm not going to say anything until everyone finish. Go ahead, Zarya.
Okay sir. So question three. Two food stores are having a sale on pic tomato ketchup. Food store A is selling a box of 1.09 kilogram ketchup for 250 $2,250.
Food is selling a bug of 10 1.09 09 kg of ketchup for 3,500 which was offering the better deal on Pekk tomato 1.09 kg ketchups. So first I decided to start with a and find out how much is for one bottle of ketchup by dividing six into by dividing six into 2,250 and I got 375.
So that's a cut for one for A and then B. I divided 10 into $3,500 and I got $350.
So it says which store is offering the better deal on PC tomato 1.09 kg ketchup. So I would use the cost for one bottle and that we can see that is cheaper which mean offering the better deal on pit 1.09 kilogram ketchups.
All right. Thank you so much, Zarya.
Thank you so much. Let's go to number three.
And our next presenter will be Leia.
This is number four, actually. Right.
This can't count, guys. Literally that we just All right. Go ahead, Leah. Thanks so much for volunteering as well.
>> Sir.
>> Yeah, man. I'm hearing you. Go ahead.
You're You're on.
>> So number four says, "How much time is scheduled for the raffle announcements?"
>> For the raffle it is 15 minutes and for the announcement it is 15 minutes also.
I got it because the the rough time is 5:30 to 5:45. When I subtract the 45 the 30 from the 45, I get 15 minutes and the announcement time is five from the 6. I guess 15.
That's it. That's it.
>> Yes, sir.
>> All right. Thanks so much. Let's go to Antony.
>> Go ahead, Anthony.
Even say >> even Anthony >> says question five. What fraction of the concert time is used for for for announcement and the radio?
So sir as Leah said for number four it was 30 minutes for both of them and it's two of them s so I remember 60 1 minute is 60 so cuz it's two of them I did 60 * 2 that's 120 millions so I did 30 over 120 20 and I simplified. So I did 30 into 31 time and 30 into 124 time. So the fraction of the announcement and the rainfall would be one one quarter.
>> All right. Before you go, Antony, the um looking at number four, what you have to say about this? The presenter leave it at this. Would you agree that that she should leave it like this or?
>> No. So, she could have she could have add 15 + 15 that's equal to 30.
>> Yeah, because it's a and right.
So um fourth presenter should have added this. You know I was thinking you should add it because look when you go down here so they ask for the fraction. So if you add it you can just use the 30 minutes instead of you know. Yeah.
>> All right. Thanks so much. You guys are so awesome guys. You realize literally didn't have to say anything. You guys did it step by step and it's all correct. Just one little last step would never do but awesome awesome job guys.
Thanks so much to all the presenter. Big up you know class consistently guys.
Literally I see the growth and the improvement every single day. So I love it. I love it. All right. So guys I send one of the paper today. I'm gonna send this one probably tomorrow.
So take off that one here and send it to you guys tomorrow.
Not so I to do workshop that's why. So never get to do it. The kids them treat me nice. So big up big up big up. So guys, take care and I'll see you guys tomorrow. All right.
>> So tomorrow we complete this guys. And >> my mother told me that you bought them cakes. So where is our cakes here?
>> No, it's not that cool that No, this is school that I bought the cake. It's not that school I went to today. No, but I did workshop there already. So the guidance department reach out to me and said them having child's day and they wanted cakes for the kids. So I said you know what I'm going to contribute to it.
So so that's how I bought them the cakes. All right. So you know you guys and then I never even expect to get a video you know because it was from yesterday and this morning I saw she sent me the video and it was kind of make me that's post So take care guys. Yeah.
>> Bye.
>> Bye guys. Take care.
>> Bye guys.
>> Bye.
>> Take care guys. See you tomorrow. All right. And guys please remember it's the same code. Sometime people ask me sir what's the code? And say but you're on Tuesday class. It's the same code for Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. So guys just make sure say have the code. All right.
Sometimes you know prepare for class and then person have it already. You understand?
>> All right. Take care, guys. But tomorrow you get the paper. All right.
>> All right, guys. You guys are awesome. I literally did not teach. You guys did everything. that are
