Every Lash Hack You Know Is WrongAdded:
I do not use lash growth [music] serums, particularly ones that contain a very specific type of ingredient.
>> Let me be honest with you. Long, thick lashes change your entire face. No [music] mascara, no extensions, no effort. Just real, healthy lashes that make your eyes pop naturally. And every girl wants that. So, what do we do? We go online, we try [music] every viral hack we find. Vaseline, onion juice, trimming, essential oils. We spend money, we waste time, we lose hope, and our lashes [music] stay exactly the same. Here's what nobody tells you. Most of what you've seen online doesn't work, >> [music] >> and some of it is actually making things worse. Today, I'm breaking down everything. What to stop doing immediately, what actually grows lashes, and the exact serums you [music] can make at home tonight. Let's get into it.
Step one. Stop doing these things first.
Before we talk about what works, we need to talk about what's wasting your time.
Because if you keep doing these, nothing else will matter. First, Vaseline. This one is everywhere, and it's not completely useless. Vaseline can make your lashes look shiny and conditioned, but it cannot grow them, not even a little. It has zero properties that stimulate hair growth. Zero. If you want shine, a tiny amount on the lengths is fine. But if you want growth, move on.
>> [music] >> Second, onion juice. Onion juice works incredibly well for scalp hair, but your lashes are not your scalp. The skin around your eyes is the most delicate skin on your entire face. Onion juice near that area means irritation, burning, and potential damage. It's not worth the risk. Leave this one alone.
Third, trimming your lashes. Someone told you that cutting lashes makes them grow back [music] thicker. That person lied to you. Lash growth is controlled by your natural hair cycle, not by scissors. Trimming your lashes just gives you shorter lashes. That's it.
Fourth, green tea bags on eyes. Green tea has antioxidants that are genuinely good for lash health, but placing tea bags on your eyes isn't how they get absorbed.
>> [music] >> Your lashes can't drink tea. Green tea extract in a serum, yes. Tea bags on your lids, no.
Fifth, DIY serums with essential oils.
Peppermint oil, lavender oil. These sound gentle and natural, but they are far too strong for the eye area.
Redness, stinging, allergic reactions. Your eyes deserve better than that. Now that we've cleared the noise, let's talk about what genuinely [music] works. Step two.
What actually grows your lashes? There are real ingredients that have real science behind them, and they're simpler than you think. Castor oil. This is the one ingredient that consistently delivers >> [music] >> results. Castor oil contains something called ricinoleic acid, which makes up almost 90% of its composition. This acid has been directly linked to hair follicle health. It moisturizes, it strengthens, [music] it prevents breakage and lash loss. And when lashes stop breaking, they actually get a chance to grow. Use 100% pure cold-pressed hexane-free castor oil.
That part matters.
Don't skip [music] it. Apply three to four times a week at night. Use a clean mascara wand or cotton swab. Start from the root and go to the tip. Wash off in the morning with a gentle cleanser. Be careful.
Keep it out of your eyes, and don't overdo it. Too much causes buildup.
Argan oil. Rich in vitamin E and fatty acids. This one is your best friend if your lashes are dry or brittle. It adds deep moisture and prevents [music] further damage. Same application method as castor oil. Simple and effective.
Coconut oil. Coconut oil prevents protein loss in lashes, and protein loss is one of the main reasons lashes become weak and fall out. Use virgin coconut oil only, and use very little. Coconut oil is heavier than other oils. Too much will clog your follicles and cause more lash loss. A small amount consistently beats a lot used randomly. Aloe vera.
Pure aloe vera contains vitamins and enzymes that feed your lash follicles.
>> [music] >> It's lightweight, it's gentle, it works beautifully for sensitive eyes.
Use pure organic aloe vera, not the store-bought versions full of additives.
[music] Before using any of these, do a patch test every single time. Your eyes are too [music] important to risk. Step three.
The ingredient that most girls don't know about. Let's talk about peptides, because this is where results get [music] serious. Peptides are short chains of amino acids, and they do something really specific. They signal your hair follicles to produce more hair, they increase keratin production, they extend [music] the growth phase of your lashes, and they strengthen the lashes that are already there. If you're buying a lash serum, look for these on the ingredient list. Biotinoyl tripeptide-1, acetyl tetrapeptide-3, copper peptides, myristoyl pentapeptide-17.
These aren't fancy marketing words.
These are the ingredients with actual research behind them. The best serums combine peptides with biotin, panthenol, and botanical extracts. That combination is what gives you real, visible results.
Step four.
Make these at home tonight. You don't need to spend a lot. These four combinations work, and you can make them yourself. Number one, castor oil and vitamin E. This is the one that works best. 1 Tbsp of cold-pressed castor oil, one capsule of vitamin E oil. Just pierce it and squeeze. [music] Mix them together. Apply at night using a clean wand or cotton swab. This combination strengthens from [music] root tip, and it protects lashes from breakage while they grow. Be patient with this one, but it works. Number two, aloe vera and coconut oil. 1 Tbsp of pure aloe vera gel, half [music] Tbsp of virgin coconut oil. Mix well.
Apply a thin layer across your lashes.
Wash off in the morning. This one is for hydration and growth together. If your lashes feel dry and brittle, start here.
Number three.
Green tea and argan oil. 2 Tbsp of brewed green tea, cooled completely.
Half tsp of argan oil. Mix and apply with a cotton swab morning and night.
Green tea extract stimulates the follicle. Argan oil locks in [music] moisture. Together, they create the right environment for growth. Number four.
Peptide and biotin serum. 1 [music] Tbsp of castor oil, half tsp of pure aloe vera gel, two to three drops of liquid biotin. Mix [music] thoroughly.
Apply every night or at least three to four times a week. This is your most powerful homemade option. Biotin supports keratin production from the inside out, and combined with castor oil and aloe, you're covering [music] every angle of lash growth. Step five.
Protect what you're growing. Growing lashes takes time, and it's easy to damage them while you're trying to grow them. Here's how to protect your progress. Avoid mascara as much as possible, especially waterproof mascara.
[music] It clogs follicles, and the removal process causes friction and breakage. Every time you roughly remove mascara, you're pulling out lashes you spent weeks growing. [music] Keep your tools clean. Your mascara wand, your cotton swabs, your hands. Bacteria near the eye area causes irritation and slows growth. Stop rubbing your eyes. It's a habit most people don't even notice, but the friction damages lashes and the delicate skin underneath. Avoid lash extensions and [music] lash lifts during your growth journey. They weaken your natural lashes over time, and right now, [music] your natural lashes need all the support they can get. The final truth. Here's something the internet won't tell you.
Your natural lash growth cycle is 6 to 12 weeks. 6 to 12 weeks. So, if someone is claiming results in 3 days, they're lying to you. Real growth takes real time, and that's not a bad thing. It means the results you build are real.
They're yours. No extensions, no falsies, [music] no filters, just your actual lashes.
Healthy, strong, and growing. Start with one serum tonight. [music] Be consistent for at least 6 weeks before you judge the results, and treat the process like self-care, because it is. Your lashes are going to thank you for this, and so will your eyes every morning when you look in the mirror. If this helped you, share it with someone who needs it, and I'll see you in the next one.
