TESLA UNSUPERVISED ROBOTAXI DAY 24 (HOUSTON)

[00:00:30]All right. We got about 15 minutes, 14 minutes before we arrive at Cowgirls Coffee. We're choosing another location to start us off. I'll probably end up at Little Kitchen HTX because I like that place and it's in the geo fence. So, but right now we're headed to a place we've never been before, Cowgirls Coffee.

[00:00:59]Uh it is Monday, May 11th, day after Mother's Day. Hopefully you guys um guys and gals pay tribute to uh your your mothers. And if you are a mother that you got doted on as necessary.

[00:01:19]From what I gather, most mothers would just rather be left alone for this glorious day of Mother's Day. But that's neither here nor there. We are in a robo taxi. The robo taxi is uh let's take a look.

[00:01:44]This is the robo taxi tracker whatchamacallit vehicle that we are currently in.

[00:01:57]We have been in this one. The only one that we have not been in is XJR 2236 as of right now. So, if we find a new Robo Taxi out in the wild giving out paid unsupervised rides, we'll make sure to log that in the Robo Taxi Tracker app that can be found on I want to say both iOS and Android. I'm I'm not sure. I don't have an Android. But, um yeah. So, that is where we're at currently.

[00:02:32]Let's get back to the Robo Taxi app itself.

[00:02:37]Um Saw the Cybercab yesterday. Um Some people got some great gorgeous shots of this prototype engineering vehicle running around presumably the service area of Houston, Texas for the Robo Taxi.

[00:02:58]They saw it coming in and out of the service center here at Tesla Houston Hempstead.

[00:03:03]I I I I did catch a mild video of it where I caught the back end of it going inside the building, but being Mother's Day, I didn't have my entire day to dedicate to it. Um we had to go stop by and see ma, and and you know, you have priorities, people, priorities. But, we did see the Cybercab yesterday.

[00:03:23]Um didn't take a ride yesterday. Um there were some individuals that were out of town. It seemed like the Cybercab I'm not Cybercab, but the Robo Taxi itself was operating with maybe two vehicles, two or three. Uh it let's just say the high service demand was uh prevalent on Mother's Day whether or not it was from other people using the service, but my inclination is that they might have had two or three vehicles running. And who knows? They're gauging demand, and you know, it's a a fluid situation that's going to have to be continuously monitored, um especially as the fleet grows and the service area expands.

[00:04:04]We are currently 11 minutes out to Cowgirls Coffee. Again, never been here, but we're trying to frequent more and more especially small businesses owned um by normal people, and not corporations, so to speak, um and help out the the ecosystem here in these trying economic times.

[00:04:30]But, uh not only do I get to enjoy the Robo-Taxi and all of its splendor um from a passenger perspective, I get to see parts of my city that I normally wouldn't.

[00:04:45]Uh I wish I lived in the service area.

[00:04:48]This would be This would be This would be ideal and heavenly for me. Um imagine having your front door being compassed by the current geo-fence of Tesla Houston, um not to mention you may work at some of these establishments that are also in the geo-fence.

[00:05:12]This It It Most people that when I do Uber I haven't Ubered in forever, and I probably should go back to Ubering, but there are some uh employment balls in the air, if you will. Um possibly working as a autonomous vehicle operator for Waymo. Nothing is set in stone. I haven't agreed to anything yet, but part of the reason why I think Tesla is not hiring you boy is because I really haven't worked a job job outside of Uber since around 2014.

[00:05:49]Um never really had the desire to work after getting out of the military.

[00:05:55]Uh I could have used that top secret clearance to go to various different entities including NASA, maybe even SpaceX. Uh the fact that you have a top secret clearance kind of bumps you up on that list since that's something that they probably wouldn't have to um give you like if you were coming out of college and you didn't have that thing, right? So, not only my experience in the military, but some of the certifications that I have, that top secret clearance is something that they just don't give to anybody, right?

[00:06:26]It lapses. Of course, mine has lapsed.

[00:06:29]I'd have to reapply for all of that stuff which considering I've already been approved and no notches on my record in any way, shape, or form, it wouldn't be difficult to get it back, but you would still have to pay for that, right? So, uh I chose to go to school and not go to work. And I really don't need to work considering my uh investment decisions, I feel pretty comfortable and confident that I could live anywhere on this planet and never have to work again. That's fortunate, right? I not a lavish person. I don't have a yacht. I don't have multiple homes. I don't need a lot in the home that I I stay in.

[00:07:18]I'm a simple man with simple pleasures that loves never driving. Right? So, my most expensive things on my docket is my house and the the couple of cars that we keep in that garage. Everything else, right? PlayStation, right? I mean I mean the the cost for goods drops drastically when you're talking about my my lifestyle, right? So, it goes from house, cars, to I think the next most expensive item is the PlayStation.

[00:07:48]>> [laughter] >> Yeah, Yosha has some other things, right? I guess Chewbacca would be considered an expense. Um Yeah, there's some things. She's got some some things that she likes to do at where whether it be, you know, shopping or you know, fine jewelry, stuff like that.

[00:08:08]But, me, I'm a simple cat.

[00:08:11]It It doesn't take much to please your boy.

[00:08:13]Um currently 5 minutes out. We're just rambling about, you know, I I I only want to work for Tesla. And I think to do that, I need a a very current job job. And lo and behold, uh Waymo's contracting partner or whatever, Transdev or whoever that is, um associated with autonomous vehicles, they need a L2 Oh my god, there's a Cybercab.

[00:08:46]Holy sh What's going on, boys? God, that's amazing. We got the the Cybercab out and about. I got to stop recording so I can record this properly from the phone.

[00:09:17]But, that is absolutely gorgeous.

[00:10:16]All right, arriving in 4 minutes to Cowgirls Coffee. We'll scope out that scene. Like I said, we've never been there before. What are the odds that we would see the Cybercab in action moving uh around and about changing the way we look at the roads here in Houston. I mean, this is a beautiful gold vehicle. I mean, how how Trinidad James say it? Gold all in my watch.

[00:10:46]Gold all in my chain. Uh whatever whatever, yo.

[00:10:51]But uh all gold everything. So, I'm all about that life. I can't wait to be able to purchase the Cybercabs uh cuz you know you can't just get one.

[00:11:03]You can't just get one. You got to do like Nelly say, I need two per I need [singing] two per You know, I think four. Especially at somewhere less than $30,000 a piece, your boy is willing to to to definitely start a small managerial fleet of Cybercabs along with maybe even my personal vehicle Stidgen 2.0. I got a Cybertruck on the way.

[00:11:37]Probably we'll see that thing in 2027.

[00:11:40]Maybe sooner, maybe by Christmas. Might get a Cybertruck in the in the driveway there.

[00:11:48]Simple man with simple pleasures. But autonomy, this is I I love science fiction.

[00:11:56]And driverless cars have been science fiction for quite some time. And I know Waymo got there first, ish. You know, there's driverless vehicles out and about, right? And every Tesla I see, my eyes immediately go to the driver seat and see if there's anybody operating that vehicle.

[00:12:20]But Tesla has made my own personal vehicle.

[00:12:23]My own personal vehicle, that notion for me to look in every Tesla to see if there's someone driving.

[00:12:31]Anyone can own this technology, right?

[00:12:35]Granted, I still have to sit in the front seat, but how much longer do you really think that they they run the same AI 4 chip? We're both on 14.3.2 in some degree, but maybe some kind of different branches, but the technology is in every vehicle that Tesla sells.

[00:12:54]It's inevitable, right? And it's got me looking at every single Tesla to see if someone's driving that car. Every car that's not a Tesla, I know that there is some human in there prone to make a mistake, causing an accident, doing crazy things while they're trying to drive. All right, I can go on this all day. We're about to arrive at our destination.

[00:13:18]Uh so, we need to make sure we gather all of our belongings, including said camera. We got to see the RoboTaxi.

[00:13:27]We got to be in the Robo Taxi while seeing the Cybercab. It doesn't get much better than that. So, I believe we are here at Cowgirls Coffee.
