The LEADR (Lifestyle Empowerment for Achieving Diabetes Remission) program, developed by DFW Endocrinology in collaboration with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), empowers individuals with type 2 diabetes to achieve remission through personalized nutrition education and intensive lifestyle coaching that addresses the underlying cause of insulin resistance, offering a powerful alternative to medication without side effects while providing real-time metabolic data for continuous feedback and motivation.

Leading the Way | DFW Endocrinology | Project RemissionAñadido:
more than 50 60% of the time you're doing good. Looking at the plate sometimes I see more fruits, less vegetables and of course we all need to celebrate probably occasional cookies, right?
>> Yes. Try not to get that addiction back for sure.
>> Yes.
I am Prasanti Tandepu. I am the founder and CEO of DFW endocrinology. I am also the site lead for leader pilot program that we have done with the ACLM. It is a pilot program for diabetes remission.
Typically type 2 diabetes is treated with medications. Leader it's lifestyle empowerment for achieving diabetes remission. So basically it does empower people with nutrition education and intensive lifestyle coaching. It's very powerful, better than medications without any side effects and then we are treating the underlying cause which is the insulin resistance.
>> Hey Randy, how are you?
>> Dr. Tro, good to see you.
>> Same here. So with Randy, he was one of the participants of our leader pilot program, the first cohort.
>> You're not rolling yet, are you?
>> I'm I'm actually already rolling.
>> Oh my god.
>> It's okay.
>> My name is Randy. I'm a 67 year old retiree. My personal goal was to try and achieve a A1C that would put me back into the normal range which was below 5.7.
A program like Leader is really beneficial because you have the ability to customize it to your own way that you would want to make changes in your lifestyle. No one is telling you that you have to follow a certain cookbook.
there's enough suggestions, recommendations, opportunities to make changes that you can customize it to to help make your own personal life that much better. Having real time data was really truly the game changer for me because it was immediate feedback. Uh it was continuous.
I can compare uh one 90-day period to the previous 90-day period. It also gave me an idea of what my estimated A1C reading would be once I did the actual blood work. So that was always extra incentive trying to see if I could make my actual blood work outcome be better than than what I was showing on the actual data readings.
He is a prototype of typical Medicare person like when you know with chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity. He has lost more than 20 lb and it not only affected him actually his son taking him as an inspiration, he lost more than 50 lbs. He is an inspiration and also a true leader.
to see the reaction you get from people that haven't seen you in in quite some time. They're just like, "Wow, you look great. What are you doing? Can you tell me?" It's like it's inspiring other people to figure out what you're doing to see if it's something that they can implement in into their lives to try and make that change.
The other big great thing about the leader program for me was uh establishing my why. Why do I want to do it? And it was really I'm wanting to increase my independence, increase my health, increase my flexibility and so just increase my ability to maintain a good physical active routine.
>> It's very powerful better than medications without any side effects.
Leadup empowers the people to make healthy choices for achieving diabetes remission.
