[00:04:45]>> Okay. So, put a pause on that for just a moment because there is something that I need to show you. Something very very important. And it's the fact that he did in fact [ __ ] ticket her. And it did in fact go to a judge. Why did this have to go to a judge?

[00:05:09]Why did somebody have to take the time out of their day? Why did your taxpayer dollars have to be spent so that this could [ __ ] happen?

[00:05:19]And Katie, who posts as Slightly Off Balance on TikTok and Instagram, was pulled over in Lake Worth Beach, Florida on February 11th and cited for wireless communications device handheld while driving. First offense under the Florida statute. Because Florida's definitely not a [ __ ] up place already. Everybody talks about gators being dogs and Florida man as if that's the weird [ __ ] but like then we hear about Marcy Racton being accosted for going into the women's restroom by by you know, for being a [ __ ] woman. Wild [ __ ] to me.

[00:05:52]The citation was issued by a Palm City Beach County Sheriff's Office Deputy at around 8:04 a.m. on That's the problem.

[00:06:00]He hadn't had his donuts yet.

[00:06:04]It carried a $116 civil penalty.

[00:06:07]The deputy claimed he observed a handheld device while Katie was traveling northbound. According to the court records, this shows the citation was dropped at the request of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office who issued it. A court hearing had been scheduled for Tuesday, but it was canceled after this case was dismissed. The dismissal occurred after a viral after the viral saga had already racked up 170 million views on Instagram and TikTok. This means Katie will no longer have to fight the ticket at trial nor pay any fines.

[00:06:41]Katie posted the end of the traffic stop on February 20th where the deputy could be heard saying he saw the device in her right hand. Katie then questioned the officer's wording pointing out she doesn't even have a right hand. The clip quickly went viral with viewers urging her to challenge the citation in court.

[00:06:55]In an April 22 update, Katie said that she had entered a not guilty plea via Zoom and it was and was scheduled to fight the ticket at trial on May 27th.

[00:07:03]The night before the scheduled trial, she posted body camera footage from the stop. In the video, the deputy approaches her driver's side window and tells her he saw her using a phone with her right hand.

[00:07:17]Despite the exchange, Katie was still issued the citation for allegedly using a wireless device while driving. Because remember, the person who actually has authority here is never you.

[00:07:31]Florida's texting while driving statutes say drivers may not manually type or enter letters, numbers, symbols, or other characters into a wireless device or send or read data for non-voice communication while operating a vehicle.

[00:07:43]The law also includes exceptions for navigation, emergency reporting, safety alerts, and certain voice communication.

[00:07:51]Katie's known online as an adaptive athlete influencer whose content often focuses on doing one-arm [ __ ] Her viral TikTok saga has drawn millions of views across social media with commenters joking that she may be able to beat the case single-handedly.

[00:08:06]Guys, why do we live in a world where the police have enough power to do this kind of [ __ ] and to cost you and inconvenience you and make [ __ ] hard for you when they don't have any evidence you've done anything at [ __ ] all when it's literally just he said, she said? That's all they have when the body camera shows you specifically they are incorrect. Is it any wonder why there are so many people who lack intelligence to become police officers?

[00:08:42]Because we actually do have some stipulations that say that if your IQ is high enough, you too can be denied the police academy. Jess says the answer is normally because Reagan or Nixon is the root of the question.

[00:08:54]Cop was not even sure what he actually saw, but he didn't want to back down until it got dismissed afterwards. Can you imagine being the cop in that scenario where you are basically going to have that follow you the entire time?

[00:09:10]Ah, yeah, no, we can't trust anything Officer McBrady says. He thought a one-armed woman was operating a phone in the arm that didn't exist. That we can't accept anything that he says. None of it's applicable anymore.
