This rigorous textual deconstruction exposes how centuries of interpolation reshaped the Mahabharata to serve specific narrative agendas. It provides a sobering look at how hero-worship can systematically distort the original logic of an epic.

Kairata Parva & Gandharva Yudh Decoded | Critical Ed| Mahabharat: Evolution of an Epic | Episode 3
Added:So today we are going to talk about Kirat festival.
Look, when we did some podcasts earlier, you can also watch our part two in this motivational growth. Here we talked a little about this Kirat festival.
But when Lord Shiva gave the animal weapon to Arjuna. When did you give it? Did you give it or not or what was that story actually? What was the reality? No one else can tell that. Only Mr. Varun will tell. So Varun ji, please tell me about Kirat Parva from the beginning, let us look at that particular chapter which is 328.
So here Yudhishthira is also telling the same thing to Arjuna that there is Bhishma, there is Drona, there is Karna, there is Duryodhan.
You should also take some power to defeat them. So if I put that thing of yours here then it means Arjun was also very weak.
Well, some people are saying here that Arjun had defeated Lord Shiva and Mahadev Ji in the battle of mud, but nothing like this is written here. In fact, the opposite has happened.
This clearly means that Karna was more powerful than Arjun because Arjun tried to use Pashupatastra and his attempt failed.
And there is one more thing. Or you can also say that Arjun saw it at the time of his death.
I believe there is power in devotion. There is so much power in devotion that God becomes compelled to come to us.
This is the biggest feature of our religion. But here, Arjun performs such penance in five to six months that Mahadev appears. This is a matter to think about.
Hello everyone welcome to our podcast. So look, today's podcast is going to be again it's a special episode. Because the guest with whom we are present right now, definitely everyone knows him because this channel is Home Race Decoded where Varun Gupta ji always explains some things of Mahabharata, some incidents which actually happened.
But I am talking about those true incidents which are present in our books and our texts.
So yes, recently we did a podcast on Mahabharata research, as you people gave so much love to that podcast and there were so many questions, see we tried to present a research in front of you and explain things to you in simple language as to who actually wrote the Mahabharata and what kind of writers added things to that Mahabharata.
Because the original Mahabharata had 24,000 verses and gradually it became 1 lakh verses. So, we are trying to explain the changes that have taken place through our podcast. And whose research has been done by Mr. Varun Gupta. So let's welcome Varun ji. Welcome Varun Sir. How are you?
Jai Shri Krishna. I am very good. Thank you Shubh ji.
Thank you so much sir. And I just want to say that the audience gave a lot of love.
People have a lot of questions.
First we explained things very quickly in the first part.
But today we will understand the festivals chapter wise so that it becomes easier for everyone to understand and their doubts get cleared. So I would like you to give me a short brief about this research.
Ok? So just a quick recap, there is a playlist named Mahabharata Growth on Decoded, you can watch Part One and Part Two of the series there. Let's give a quick recap.
As you have rightly said, there were 24000 verses in the Mahabharata text in India and this text kept evolving and finally it became 1 lakh verses. Now in this entire research we saw that five people have contributed completely to it.
You can say that the Mahabharata which we are reading today has five authors and we have given them different styles.
Ok? So, like A layer, we will say, as it is written layer, so if there is A layer, then that is the text of Vaish Parayan ji.
After that, Sooth ji, who is the alpha, comes.
And Sooth ji's son was Sooti ji. So we gave him B style.
A became original. Then came Alpha. Then B came and then C was Harivansh ji. And then all of this was combined. Yes.
So we gave it a different name. So in this way, when we looked at it completely, we saw five styles here.
Got it.
Ok.
So that's what we are carrying forward with that thing and Shrotagarh made a lot of comments last time that perhaps we explained things a little early.
So he requested that Sir, please take each festival one by one and take the chapters of the critical edition and explain it to us from that.
Ok?
So this Deboy chapter that you are seeing is the Bori Critical Edition. This is the English version.
Ok? And this is the layer and after this we have also written a little summary here. And after the summary, we have also written the events so that people can know what happened in this particular festival, so what we are taking you to today is Kirat festival. Parva Okay, so first we will see what happened in the night Parva and what did not happen and after that we will understand the chapters. I will say again that these are not chapters from Geeta Press or KMG, these are chapters from the critical edition.
Ok.
Ok?
People tell the critical edition to show the sack. So today we have shown you Gori in full detail and we have given the complete reconstruction of that particular chapter in a small paragraph here and also given the summary of that paragraph so that people can understand. Ok? So we go directly to the place where its night festival has more importance. So let's go directly there now and see what has happened in it. Ok? So the biggest thing that has happened here is that it has started and completed this. That is what Bhima is saying to Yudhishthir, you can read it. Bhima is very frustrated with the attitude of Yudhishthir, which appears passive to us.
Yudhishthir, being a righteous man, is not taking action immediately, so Bhima says that it is cowardice, we will have to take some action here and because our kingdom was won by unrighteousness, by deceit, then why should we not also cheat, he says this to Yudhishthir, then Yudhishthir says that brother, it is okay, what you are saying is right, but do you know the strength of the person in front, brother, you know that there is Bhishma, Karna and Dronacharya, that is, there are so many great warriors of Aryavarta, so he is explaining all this to Yudhishthir and here Yudhishthir tells him that there are so many great people here. Ok? So how can we defeat them?
Ok?
Just saying Kshatriya dignity and getting angry will not do anything. We need something or the other that will empower us or what we can do.
Ok? So this whole discussion continues here.
Here as I have written that Yudhishthir is saying that Bheem you are saying all right, we will take action but will we be able to defeat them, ok against such great warriors as it is also written that Bhishma, Drona, Karna, Duryodhan such great warriors are sitting there, so we defeated them, then Ved Vyas ji comes here, it is written and Ved Vyas ji says that Arjun should do penance here and should take blessings or boons or weapons from Rudra, Indra and Lokpals.
That will empower you. So this is the same conversation he is having with Vyas ji.
Ok? After that, Yudhishthira tells Arjuna that you should do penance and you need weapons to fight our enemies like Duryodhan and all the others like Bhishma and Drona, Ashwatthama, Karna. Especially from Lord Indra because we know that he was Indra's son, so Indra would not refuse his father or Indra his son. So here Lord Indra comes and Lord Indra tells him that when you come to heaven, I will give you all the weapons but first you will have to take permission from Lord Shiva, from Bholenath, from Mahadev and then you will have to choose Rudra. So what they do here is that they go to Kirat, that is, a forest, and after going there they start doing penance, Arjun does severe penance.
Now what happens there is that a boar or a boar which is called wild boar comes there in the form of a monster boar.
And Mahadev ji or any other God cannot allow the person doing penance to benefit.
So God comes there in the form of Kirat i.e. a hunter.
Lord Bholenath comes there as a hunter, as a Kirat and shoots arrows.
Now both the arrows hit together.
Ok?
Now the one whose arrow hits first gets the prey.
Is this a limit or is this a hunting code?
So here the argument between the two gets interrupted because [sound of clearing throat] Bholenath says that my arrow hit first those who were disguised as Kiratas. And Arjun says that my arrow hit there. It is written here that Hunter's Night also shot and Arjun claims that this is my prey because I have killed it. Now both of them start arguing. Now when both of them argue, the matter escalates to such an extent that both of them take out bow and arrow or bow and arrow, now the fight between Mahadev and Arjun has started here.
Now what happens is that when we go to Arjun, he gets two quivers from Agnidev whose arrows never run out. But who can defeat Mahadev? Therefore, due to the Maya of Mahadev or the nature of Mahadev, the quiver or the sword of Arjuna gets destroyed there as I have written.
These squaws became exhausted and the arrows ended here.
Well, after that there is sword fighting. The Malik war also takes place and finally Arjun loses there. Ok? Now here comes the biggest question that why did I explain this thing? This is Dibray Chapter Sack Category 331.
Now the biggest thing in this is that some people started saying here that Arjun had defeated Mahadev ji.
Arjuna defeated Lord Shankar. In fact, Arjun had satisfied even Mahadev. This has been said a lot. A lot has been said. Reality has been spoken too much. That's why I picked up the chapter so that you can read it. It is not written anywhere that Arjun defeated Mahadev. And anyway, who can defeat Mahadev?
But right now we are going to talk about war.
So the outcome of the war is not known yet. There is a war going on right now. A war is going on here and Arjun fights with his sword here and loses in that too. Now I will also come to the outcome of the war.
But in General, I am saying that the mindset is very wrong and you consider Arjun as your favourite, you consider Karna as your favourite. Believe anyone. But don't say that Arjun defeated Mahadev.
See, those who love Arjun can say anything now. But here every person should see the strength of a warrior that who can fight with God.
This is impossible. So that is why we have taken this particular chapter here so that we can tell that nothing like this is written here and I feel that somewhere or the other, as I said, whoever is your favourite, but whatever is written in our scriptures, you should not change it or understand it, so those people who say that brother Arjun defeated Mahadev, there was nothing like that here and to give proof for this, I have taken this chapter of Debroy here. Ok. The second thing is that after that, the real battle of Bholenath starts with Arjun in the guise of night and he stops Arjun's throat or breath, he catches hold of it.
So Arjun becomes unconscious there with his own hands.
When there has been a fight with hands.
Now Arjun became unconscious there, which should have happened. It is Mahadev. But even then people said no, no, Mahadev has been defeated.
People comment on many of my podcasts.
Everyone is respected. But don't say that Arjun has defeated Mahadev. This is not shown anywhere. It has been written. Ok? We will know further when Mahadev ji tests him here. And he defeated Arjun in the battle of mud, here it is fine.
Now [nasal sound] what happens here is that he tells Arjun that I am very pleased with you. I came to test you. So please give me some weapon.
I want to give you something. I would like to apologize. So here Arjun says give me Pashupata which is also called Rudrastra. Well, there is one more thing I would like to say, when it comes to Karna, some people say that Karna did not have any divine weapon and Karna was afraid of Arjun. That is why Karna had taken that power from Lord Indra.
Ok?
Ok? I agreed for two minutes. Let's say Karna was afraid of Arjun. Karna did not have any divyas. So he took it from Indra. Yes.
Now here also Arjun has written that I want to fight with Karna, Duryodhan, Bhishma, Drona and hence I need this weapon. In fact, even when he went, Yudhishthir told him that to defeat such great warriors, you will need weapons. Correct. So if we are saying that Karna was afraid of Arjun.
Therefore Indra took the power of Lord Indra.
So is Arjun also afraid of Karna here? Those who are asking for Pashupatash weapon or how wrong is our thinking? That we will abuse Karna, call him unrighteous. It will be said to Karna that Karna did not have any divine weapon. So he took the power of Lord Indra.
Even Arjun asked for divine weapons here.
And Arjun is asking for this because Arjun is also afraid somewhere that how will he fight with Karna and Drona? Will fight. Then both should be measured on the same scale. Measure both with the same standard.
Yes, they are scared or they are scared.
If there is such thinking then if there is such thinking. If you are thinking Arjun then why are you washing the benefits? Either your thinking is wrong or you have become a favoritism.
So if you say that Karna did not have any divyas (divyas) and hence he asked for it from Indra, then it seems that Arjuna also did not have any divyas (divyas) because Arjuna also asked for it. Now here God has said two conditions.
Lord Bholenath says that you cannot use this divine weapon on someone inferior to you or someone with less power.
Ok? This is the first condition. He has written here that he wants Arjun that it should not be released on an worthy target and it would destroy the entire universe.
Ok?
Ok?
Ok? Done.
And he has written here that the second condition was that when Arjuna felt that the hour of his death had come, only then should he use that Pashupata weapon.
Ok?
Or two conditions.
Two conditions.
Ok? We heard both the conditions. Now in Karna Parva, Arjuna has tried to use this weapon on Karna twice. So when this condition was okay and here Arjun accepts it, Arjun says brother I agree.
Arjun Hambali accepts the weapon.
Ok? They took up arms or took up the day. When I took it, I accepted any condition.
So when Arjun has accepted this condition here then why does he try to attack Karna twice in Karna Parva? And if he tried, it means that somewhere Arjun had understood that Karna was not weaker than him.
Ok?
Because this was the condition. Or you can say that Karna started cutting such divine weapons of Arjun on the 17th day of Karna Parva war that Arjun felt that the hour of his death had come, hence he made this attack. It is possible that the committee is on both the conditions. So this is the thing that I have found out here, if this condition is actually applicable and Arjun is firing this arrow, this weapon, then Karna is powerful and Karna is not weak, two conditions are applicable here with Arjun and that is the fear of death, there is fear of death here because if you read Karna Parva, it does not talk about unbiased movies, does not talk about chat, GBT, does not talk about Google, if you read Karna Parva and as we said, it is 99% original. There is only 1% which is in it from ad ad letter added we can, so when 99% is there then it means there is reality in it, so did Arjun understand that on that day it was the hour of death because Karna had cut all the arrows and all the divine weapons of Arjun on the 17th day of the war. They were cut off. Absolutely right. So that's why we do this now. What happens after this is that Lord Shiva has blessed him.
Arjun, I have also taken permission from Lord Shiva. Now Lokpal comes to Arjun and says that now you should come to heaven in which Kuber ji is there, Lord Yama is there, Lord Varun, all the Gods, Goddesses and Gods, Lokpal comes and says that you should come to Indralok and here in Indralok, the rest of the weapons are provided to them. Now the thing to think about is that [nasal sound] when we know that Dronacharya's disciple was Arjun and Dronacharya had given Brahmashira to Arjun in business at that time, then did he not give other weapons like Agneyastra, Varunaastra etc. So did Arjun not have any divine weapon or weapon? Which he is taking the most weapons here.
Travelling to Indralok.
Karna has never made such a journey to Indralok or heaven. Neither did Karna do penance, Karna never even heard of it, it never happened, never heard of it in any story, in any chapter, because Parshuram ji had given all the divine weapons to Karna, this is a real story and this is about Karna, if it was about someone else then I would have believed it, so if Karna had all the divine weapons of Bhargava ji's class, Parshuram's and if Karna Parva is original then he did not need the vapes, if he did not need them then the same question arises that why would he ask for them from Lord Indra, yes this is also a contradiction, somewhere this is the mindset of people regarding this thing.
Well, people always called our father or forefathers as generous Karna.
Yes and if Karna was doing exchange there then why did our forefathers or those who wrote it call him generous Karna. Because if it was an exchange then he would not have said it.
He is not called a philanthropist. And as I just said that Parashuram ji was the disciple of Mahadev ji and Parashuram ji gave all the weapons to Karna, so Karna had no need for weapons, Karna never went to Indralok or heaven, Karna never even did penance, basically Karna never asked for anything from anyone, if you have seen the entire Mahabharata, did Karna ever ask Mahadev to give him a boon, did he ever go to Krishna ji and ask for anything, Karna gave it to Krishna ji.
Karna did n't even ask for anything [sound of clearing throat].
Duryodhana himself has given him the kingdom. Karna said, brother, please give me the kingdom.
In fact, Karna never asked anything from anyone in the entire Mahabharata.
He kept giving.
That is why he was called the generous Karna. It was said and what you say is that Karna did not have divine weapons, hence the demand. So here also the exchange of divine weapons is taking place brother. So it seems that Arjun also did not have any divine weapons and he is still collecting them.
Now after that it is time for Arjun to go here and Arjun says I will travel to Indralok. Ok.
Now this question will come in everyone's mind which is the basic question of our Mahabharata growth that who added this? When was this added? So this C which you are seeing, Harivansh ji has added it later. This was never a part of the original narration. As I always say, there were 24,000 verses in India and there Vaish Parayan ji showed the actions as to what action took place. Like Arjun tried twice to use Rudrastra, these things are later added to put the story of Rudrastra and to show the penances of Arjun.
This was never part of the original. And I have written the names of the chapters because this thing will become very complex later on.
Ok?
This collaboration has been done by two-three writers contributing in the same festival.
So here we write layer like C, tomorrow CA may also be written in some such festivals.
So now we will understand the summary chapter wise and see who has written that particular chapter.
Ok? There is only one limitation in this that if someone has changed any verse within the chapter then it has become a little deeper on which research is going on. But within this, if someone has written the entire chapter, then we are able to identify him.
Got it. Got it. Ok.
So what this means is that this was never a part of the original narration.
No, on which he celebrated the entire Kirat festival.
People said that Arjuna pleased Mahadev, satisfied him. Some people said that Mahadev was defeated. Different types of things are going on and these things are also happening in the podcast and the general public is also believing this.
So there is nothing like that. This is never a part of the original narration.
Yes, what seems to be the reason that this was put on Kirat to hide the failures of Arjun.
No, no, it is not a matter of failures. Shubh ji, the thing is that these things were added later to glorify Arjun. Arjuna is one of the most powerful warriors in Mahabharata. Karna is also there. Both sides are right. Both are great in their own places. But I have always heard good things about Arjun. Because it is well written here too. But the point is when you have to compare one character with another.
Yes, and if we want to elevate a character then we have also included penance here. Now think about a small thing. Forget about two minutes.
Ok?
I will name only three people.
Ok.
Hiranyakashipu, Kumbhakaran, Ravana.
Ravana, Hiranyakashyap and Kumbhakaran also performed penance. I have done a lot of penance. In fact, it is also written in Narasimha Purana about Hiranyakashipu that even his skeleton had come out. I had done so much penance. Leave aside the Mahasavas, all the bones and ribs that I also showed, the penance of Hiranyakashyap had melted, it had completely melted.
Absolutely. Ok? Only then did God give him more blessings, right? So let some people say you were a monster. Why are you comparing with humans? His motive was different.
I accepted everything.
Ok.
But here Arjun did penance for five to six months, which is written there. And within five to six months, Mahadev becomes pleased and gives such a boon to Arjun. May Mahadev be happy for five months. Let me tell you one thing.
In Shiv Puran, our Mahadev's Uma who is Parvati ji, had done intense penance for marriage, then Mahadev became pleased and came and tested her, the stories which we have read are in Shiv Puran, then Mahadev can test even Uma Parvati who was herself an incarnation of Goddess. He tells them to do hard penance then I will come. He gives the weapon to Arjun in five months.
That too such a Pashupadastra.
This should be a matter of thought.
Mahadev, do I believe that there is power in devotion? It was given so quickly in our Sanatan Dharma. What you are trying to say is how did God become pleased so quickly? Mahadev Ji gave the weapon after just one battle and just five months of penance.
Okay, I gave it to you. Let's assume two minutes here. Gave it. So in Drona Parva, when for Abhimanyu and we will also do Abhimanyu Vadh Parva in it soon, then Lord Shri Krishna says that let's go and get the Pashupata weapon again, so this is a dream story, a dream story, so when you already have the Pashupata weapon, then why is God telling you to go to Kailash again and get it, that is, you as an archer, if I talk about Arjun who is a knower of Dhanurveda, who is so knowledgeable about his Dhanurveda, he forgot the power of his weapon or forgot the mantra of the weapons, then how is he a knower of Dhanurveda, then either you are diminishing the fame of Arjun if you are adding such a thing because Drona Parva is later and it is written there that Lord Shri Krishna says that Arjun, let's go to Kailash Parva, it is possible that you have forgotten the weapon and there it is written that Arjun will again get the Pashupada weapon because the repeat has been received here, after that the same weapon is being received twice and Arjun has forgotten it there, so which letter was added, which I leave it to my listeners to figure out the original.
Okay, so you should think that all these things, such contradictions should come to everyone's mind and I think there is nothing wrong in asking these questions and when you ask questions, only then such research is prepared and after reading this, many questions are coming to my mind too, Man ji, that is why I am stopping you in between and understanding what is this, you should think that when Dronacharya gave Brahmasheer to Arjun as it is written, then would he not have given Agneestra, Varunaastra, Divyaastra to him and if he had given, then why was he asking for it here, let it not be Pashupastra, it would not be Rudraastra, okay, there is one more thing, at one place Arjun has also said that this Pashupataastra is also Brahmasheer and he had already got Brahmasheer from Dronacharya, so this is a conflict, a conflict that somewhere you got Brahmasheer and you are saying that Rudrashree is Pashupadaastra, Pashupadastri is Brahmasheer.
So, this is the story that has been added in a way. The letter added that Arjun has done so much penance, so much sacrifice during his exile and the Kauravas are living a luxurious life there and look at the amount of penance Arjun has done, this is the result of his hard work. I did so much penance for God.
One you have put devotion [sound of clearing throat] juice here.
In Arjun's life. Yes, that was one thing which we understood here in Kirat Parva. There is one more thing that we will talk about today and we got this feedback last time also.
Some people said that when we talked about Gandharva war in the last part, we did it very quickly.
So let's do one thing today. After this we will take Gandharva Yudh and we will see what Bori has written there or in the critical edition and who has added it. Yes of course.
So let's go there. As you can see, this is the Ghosh Yatra festival here. I made some more changes in this. Please tell me that the comments of the audience are respected.
So now I have also written the verses here as to how many verses are there in this chapter.
How many verses are there in this chapter? I have written it all here. Like which chapter is there in this chapter in the critical edition and the most important thing is how many verses have we recovered in this critical edition.
So we have written that here also. Same thing has happened. I shortened the summary a bit because people say that you have made the summary too long and have included small events there too.
These are chapters from the Debroy Borie Critical Edition.
These are layers, we will talk about them and I have also put the verse count here as to how many verses were there here. So that it will be very easy for people to understand.
Kosha Yatra Parva is Gandharva war and that is what we will talk about today.
So the biggest question is how did this start? The Pandavas were in exile and Duryodhana tells Dhritrashtra here that he wants to go and count the cows. I want to go to the forest.
Now what has happened here, what is written is that Karna explained to Duryodhana that friend, let's go and have fun today.
Now we will see why it has been written and when it ended. So Karna says to Duryodhan and people are saying this thing in their podcasts also, in many podcasts that Karna himself told Duryodhan that let's have fun, let's go to the Pandavas and here Duryodhan makes an excuse to Dhritrashtra that we are going to count the cows.
Ok. Now Dhritrashtra says here that son, this is a wrong thing. Let that be there.
You stay here. You don't need to talk to them. We had put a condition before them or they are fulfilling their promise, right? So let them stay in their place. Let us be in your place.
Ok?
So what happened here is that one word just came and that is cow.
Ok?
Cow Cow must have reminded you of Virat Parva.
Virat festival.
So I feel that the writers were very obsessed with cows. By the way, cow is our mother. There is a lot in Sanatan Dharma. But everywhere Duryodhan's expeditions or campaigns have been shown, they have been shown around the cow only.
Like there is Goharan festival in Virat also. Ok?
Ok? Here in Ghosh Yatra also he is saying that I will go to kill the cow. Ok?
A prince, a prince, is going to fall.
Ok? This is also something to think about. Ok? So let's decide there that if we have to go, then let's go.
Dhritrashtra refuses but Duryodhana reaches there.
Now Duryodhan says, brother, I am getting bored here.
What shall I do? If it comes to the forest then playgrounds are built. They say build a playground. It is written in the sack as Pleasure House in Radical Edition.
Build some such building for me where I can play.
Now he was a king, he had money, everyone had servants, so kings started making things. A river comes in between. So the people of Duryodhana's army said that the Gandharvas who were staying there, Sir, you should go away from here. Here, King Duryodhan's playground is being built. So you go somewhere else. The river came in between. So the Gandharvas say that no, we will not go from here. You go somewhere else. In this the debate becomes irritating and the servants of Duryodhana go and tell Duryodhana that he is not moving away.
Yes, now Duryodhan feels this way and it is there even in today's time, imagine that someone else's car is parked somewhere else in the parking lot and you ask his driver to move the car, then his owner gets furious first. Isn't it?
So here Duryodhana tells him, brother, let's go and fight.
How did he refuse us? So Duryodhan, Karna, Shakuni, Dushasan, Vikarna all of them go there with the entire army and the war with the Gandharvas starts there and Karna has welcomed everyone here.
Ok? The same is written here, Enraged by the Servants. He means Duryodhana. Duryodhana orders army to attack the Gandhavas. Ok?
That is what this chapter is. 527 you can read.
And Chitrasena who was the king of Gandharvas at that time. Let's take care of that group. They welcome him and start using force. Ok? Now a very fierce battle takes place here.
Ok?
Now it is written here that Karna started killing his soldiers i.e. donkeys.
Chitrasen got angry with this and used Mayastra.
Which is also written here as Power of Illusion Maya. Yes, due to the power of illusion that he used here, the Kurus or even Karna started seeing 10 Gandharvas each. And here it is written that he gave a full beat to Karna. Karna 's horses were killed, his charioteer was killed and his chariot was destroyed.
So Karna runs away from there on the chariot of Vikarna who was the brother of Duryodhana.
It is written that Karna has just run away from here, so you see the pattern, Karna himself has told Duryodhan that come on brother, do that and Karna ran away from here, ran away, okay, accepted, accepted, so what happens after that, Dushasan, Duryodhan, everyone is captured, I have written that here that the people who were left, Duryodhan, Dushasan has captured all the brothers, now the remaining Kauravas go to the Pandavas, the same is written here, you can read it in this chapter, so they go to the Pandavas and here Yudhishthir is so good, so nice that Duryodhan has done wrong with his wife [nasal sound].
Duryodhana is a villain and the poor guy is suffering exile. But he is such a religious man that he tells his four brothers to go and save his brother.
Save Duryodhana.
Despite all this, such a great religious person, despite losing the game and Draupadi. Despite bringing Draupadi by pulling her hair, he is still helping Duryodhana. Are doing.
So these four Pandavas reach there and Arjun takes an oath here that I will save my brother.
Took the oath. How did it go into a very serious mode?
Now the fight started there and there was a lot of fighting. A lot of things happened.
Arjun said, brother, leave it. He did not leave. The fight started. And Arjun fought a lot here. One lakh Gandharvas were killed here. It is written.
Lakhs of Gandharvas died. Ok? And here is another thing which is a matter of thought, Arjun used powerful Celestial weapon Agniastra, Shrutakarna, Indrajal, he used these and killed thousands and lakhs of Gandharvas here. Ok? If we go a little further into this chapter, it is not written anywhere here that Karna used any divine weapon. Karna was shooting normal arrows.
Ok?
Now we will come to why it is written like this.
But let's go here. Ok? Now what happens after that, Chitrasen shows his magic.
Arjun shoots the Shabda Vedi arrow and Chitrasen arrives.
Chitrasen says here that brother, I was your guru. When you travelled to Indralok, I was your guru.
Ok?
After this he also tells that Lord Indra could not see why the Kauravas had come here.
So this was a well thought out conspiracy or a plot or a planning that Gandharvas would come down. Will argue deliberately. The fight will begin. The issue of the fight will be what it is called and Duryodhan's army will be defeated here and Duryodhan will be captured and taken to Indralok.
Ok? This was their plan.
Ok.
But since Yudhishthira and Arjuna request, we leave it here from the picture.
Now what happens here? Another thing that you can read in this chapter is that Lord Indra has rained nectar there. It is written there that the Gandharvas who showered nectar were killed by the Kauravas. If you guys feel that I am lying then you can read this chapter. Ok? It is written here. So Lord Indra showered mild nectar or nectar there and it is written there that all the Gandharvas who were killed by the Kauravas came back to life.
All the Gandharvas killed by the Kauravas came back to life.
So the question arises that as we just read here that Arjun was using divine weapons. Thousands of Gandharvas were being killed. Why didn't he survive? Right now we are not saying whether this letter is added or it was earlier. Right now there is only contradiction. There is curiosity. It is only because of my curiosity that I will research the chapter.
Curiosity was created from here.
Ok?
So where did those Gandharvas go whom Arjun was killing here? Secondly, on the orders of Lord Indra, he came down from the picture and Arjun is Indra's son, so would he have shot arrows at Indra's son, would the Gandharvas have ever fought with him, never, ever, that is one thing, the third thing is that Karna's armour and earrings are still there but Karna has run away but Karna has been pierced with arrows. Ok? So where did Karna's armour and earrings go? If he had armour and earrings then how did he pierce them with arrows?
My God. Ok? After this, if we look at Drona Parva, Lord Shri Krishna has said to Arjun that if Karna's armour and earrings were not removed, then even if I fought with Sudarshan Chakra and you fought with Gandiva, we would not have been able to defeat him.
Ok? Look, the armor and earrings are here and he has been defeated by the normal Gandharvas and has run away.
Even God is getting scared somewhere.
But Gandharva should not be afraid.
Gandharva is above God.
This is what was shown in it.
This was done by inspiring and motivating. If we compare.
Now there is one more thing after that.
Here Karna had all the divine weapons because he had learnt them from Parashurama long ago.
So why did he not use the divine weapons given by Parashurama ji in this chapter? Arjun has done it.
Why didn't we see it?
If Karna had used the divine weapon, would the Gandharvas not have died? And when he sees that a Maya war is taking place. Could n't Karna cut the illusion? And the same Karna has cut the thousand illusions of Ghatot Pach. Even alone, the illusion of the night is where the demons are the most powerful.
That too has been cut. It is written there in Drona Parva that he has cut a thousand Maya.
And this is not Maya, these have run away.
And ran away from here. What is the pattern now?
Karna says that Duryodhan, let's have fun with the Pandavas. Correct?
Duryodhan agrees to his words and comes and Karna runs away after losing here, leaving his friend behind, you see, and here questions are being raised on friendship, on friendship, on the bravery of Karna, if Karna was so great, he used to run away so quickly, he ran away from everywhere, then on whose strength did Duryodhan fight the war in Kurukshetra, because when he saw that my friend runs away, then it is possible that he should not have been trusted in Kurukshetra, well this is the thing, why did the man who is running away from Gandharva, why did he not run away in Kurukshetra, he is a Pandava from the other five Pandavas. It is very powerful. When Arjun was killing the Gandharvas alone, Karna would have run away from Arjun. Should n't Duryodhana have fought the battle of Kurukshetra when he saw that Arjun was so powerful and Arjun had saved his life.
Arjun has saved my life. There must be gratitude, there must be something great inside me.
Come, I will give it to him. There is no problem with these five villages.
Brother, this has saved my life. Dude, there was nothing.
And if his life had been saved here, it is possible that his heart would have melted here thinking that brother, you saved my life.
And it melts the heart.
If this had happened, but it would have happened in real life. The second thing is this. Why?
Another thing is that there is no mention of it anywhere later that there are Gandharvas and Gandha, well, let's assume that Karna was defeated by Gandharvas.
So Yudhishthir knew that Karna had fled and Duryodhana was captured.
Okay, do you agree with this?
So [nasal sound] why is Yudhishthir again telling Arjun in Karna Parva that brother, I have not slept for 13 years because of the fear of Karna.
Ok? Then why was he there? When they know that my brother killed the Gandharvas and ran away in fear of those same Gandharvas, then why did I not sleep for 13 years. It is a matter of thought, Varun ji, this story that you told or this Alpha, who has written it?
[nasal sound] Sut ji. Sut ji, we are not able to justify this. These things are not matching, they are not even matching with the events of Mahabharata. That's why I say that Sut ji did two very good things. Firstly, when Duryodhana apologized to Dushasan. When Bhima killed Dushasan Duryodhan, his bone was attached to Draupadi's breast by Suta ji.
Secondly, he wanted to show the humiliation of Duryodhana and he added this chapter.
So, if I start this layer from the beginning, then this layer Alpha is by Sut ji and the previous layer is written by Vaishya Parayan ji, which is layer A, A is exactly the actual facts, now this Alpha has been added here to show how religious the Pandavas are, as I said, an unfair act was done with his wife, an unfair act was done with him and even after that he is saving her here and here Karna was chased away to show him as weak, now why did they show Karna as weak, because in the battle of Kurukshetra, Karna never ran away leaving Duryodhana in trouble.
Ok? If he had not removed Karna from here then how would Duryodhana have been captured?
Because Karna was present. Therefore, Karna cannot make it while Karna is alive. Could n't have made it while alive.
Ok?
His friendship with the captive Duryodhana was so great that he did so much for Duryodhana.
So the point is to remove you from the picture.
Like I had done Virat Parva two-three months ago, what happened in that too was that we had to remove each Kshatriya, each warrior from the picture, same is Karna, now if we had written here that Karna used Divyastra, then it seems that when Karna used Divyastra, then why are the Gandharvas not dying and if the Gandharvas died, then who will capture Duryodhan, after that when Duryodhan was captured and released, then why did Lord Indra or Lord Indra bring back to life only those Gandharvas who were killed by the Kauravas. So where did the Pandava army go? The Pandavas have written something. Where did those killed in thousands go? Why was he not brought back to life? There is no mention of it anywhere. Why? Because this thing never happened. If I forget the letter ad for even two minutes. So, so many contradictions are visible in this Ghosh Yatra that we will say that this letter is added and even if it is not added, it is shown here to glorify Arjun and the Pandavas, that the greatness of the Pandavas is shown here. After this, think that Arjun and Bhima have protected Duryodhan. Ok?
So Duryodhan should have realized somewhere that these people are far superior to me in the fight. How will I fight? He would take leave after visiting five villages.
He would take leave after visiting five villages.
So why did he mess up and fight again? Even after that it never happened that Yudhishthir told Arjun that we had saved your life.
Like we say never.
What happens after this is that Duryodhana tells the entire story to Karna.
And he says that I will take the Sanyas Ashram here for immortality and I will not be able to eat or drink anything now. Now look at what has been put here, a little bit of demon, demon, they feel that their side will become weak, so they make Duryodhan in their region. What is happening? Duryodhana has been called to the underworld and told that brother, we are with you. You fight with the Pandavas. Now the demons called a person, that is, they said that we are with you, you are a part of us, you should fight, so now you see that all these things are added, here on whose strength did Duryodhan start this fight when he knew that his friend had lost and ran away, now there are two things here, Karna lost and went away, so you called Karna wrong, yes, when Karna supported his friend, even then you are saying wrong, so that means if Karna left Duryodhan and went away, then he is wrong.
Even when Karna supported his friend, he was wrong. So brother, those people who say that Karna is wrong, please tell us when Karna is right.
Not right in this festival.
No, anyway, if you are comparing these generals, then Karna was wrong in leaving his friend and running away. I accepted the friendship. If Karna supported his friend then that is also wrong.
So brother, what should I do, when is Karna right brother? It is something to think about.
Well, if all this had happened. Ok? This all happens. Let's assume for two minutes that this was true.
So brother Dronacharya, I would like to apologize.
Why did Bhishma Pitamah say this to Karna that I did not want brothers to go to war, I did not want you to go to war.
Because he knew that here Karna always runs away after losing. So Karna has no weightage at all. There is no credibility at all.
So that is why the layer you are seeing here, coming back to this, this is the alpha layer, as you said it was added after A, so Sut ji has added all this, this was never a part of the original narration, that is why you see so many contradictions, you should read Karna Parva, someday our podcast will also come in Karna Parva, why don't you see so many contradictions in Karna Parva, you will find very few in Drona Parva also, we will do Karna Parva, the coming Parva by Parva we are doing it, but Parva by Parva let's continue this thing.
We bought this today because our audience asked us to and thank you so much Varun ji. The way you explained things. We just talked about Ghosh Yatra and see how many contradictions are seen here and how the strength of some characters, i.e. Karna, has been shown so wrongly and at the same time the Kauravas have been shown in such a way that it seems as if the Pandavas are everything.
But look, I say that we are also with the Pandavas.
We will always be with every right, right with wrong and wrong religion.
But we are not in favor of the way the letter added things have been manipulated by some authors and perhaps it was our duty to present this research before you people. All I want to say is that if you ever have any doubt, you can definitely see these parts. There is a playlist named Mahabharata Growth. Please do check this.
Parts will appear in it festival by festival. And I hope we have explained it to you easily through this podcast. So before leaving I would like to say that I will meet you all very soon in one such amazing podcast and Varun ji, from my end I would like to say to some of the audience that read with an open mind and Hopkins has very good studies on this, look at Hopkins, he has been a great scholar and after this in the next episode we will take up Virat Parv and there will be chapter by chapter decoding and we will see who added Virat Parv and how many people added it. So stay with us in this research. So you will get to know a lot and so much is going to be revealed in the next parts that even I was shocked to see and I hope you also felt the same, do comment because comments matter a lot, Varun ji will try to answer your every question, his team is available and active, so do comment, see you in the next podcast, this is auspicious signing off from our podcast, thank you so much everyone and again, thank you so much Varun ji for sharing your insights, thank you Jai Shri Krishna, was Virat a part of the perfect original narration or not. If not, when did he add it? Who added it and why? What was the need for this? And quick recap is that I have written the alpha layer here.
Alpha layer means that this thing, the yarn, has been added here.
If I just go by this layer.
Ok? So Draupadi was insulted in the messenger assembly also. No one has spoken there either. Ok? It is happening here too, no one is saying anything.
So every time these Pandavas would become so helpless or so suppressed that they would not be able to say anything at that time.
I don't understand this one bit.
Got it? And definitely Varun ji, it feels strange to hear these things that actually this is not possible. Right? At that time I feel that it is an insult.
Basically the motive of this entire Goharan is to make Arjun defeat each warrior and move aside. So here basically the motive was what Hopkins says that even without the help of Lord Krishna, Arjun was able to defeat each Kaurava one by one.
This is visible in this. This is the motive behind making this here, to show the bravery of Arjun.
Yes. So what is happening here is that Arjuna had only arrows in his quiver. Ashwatthama had no arrows. So poor Ashwatthama would have been brought back there because he had run out of arrows. So Ashwatthama has been shown very weak here.
Ok? Where are the warriors, the commanders and the leaders of their army?
So what happened here is that I have made the entire army unconscious by using a hypnotic weapon.
So, I have completely made Arjun a war hero here. If this was the case then all the Puru warriors attacked Arjun here. Arjun had made everyone unconscious. Then how did the Mahabharata war last for 18 days?
