This message offers a sharp critique of performative religiosity by prioritizing internal transformation over external merit. It effectively highlights how self-justification often serves as the primary barrier to genuine spiritual humility.

Rejecting This Sermon Is SENDING People To Hell‼️😰Ajouté :
Today I want to talk to you about the most important sermon that Jesus, the son of God, ever preached when he was here on Earth. And this is something that even pastors and preachers and people who've been going to church for decades are missing out on. And we're going to read a scripture today that tells us that even pastors and preachers and people that were missionaries and did many wonderful works, the Bible says, Jesus says, that he's going to tell them, "I never knew you." And they're going to go to hell. Why?
Because of out of all the sermons that Jesus preached, they paid attention to all of them except his most important one. This was the first preaching that Jesus ever preached when he started his ministry. So, pay attention. Do you know what his first sermon is? Well, today you're going to find out. We find it here in the book of Matthew chapter 4.
When Jesus went to the wilderness, taken by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by Satan, he was there 40 days and 40 nights, he fasted, he was tempted by the devil three times. Okay. After he left the wilderness after his temptation, this is his first sermon. This is even before he called his disciples. This was his first sermon, the most important sermon. I still remember the first sermon I ever preached. This is the first sermon Jesus is going to preach when he started his ministry. Matthew 4:12-17. Pay very close attention because if it's the most important sermon Jesus ever preached, then it's the most important sermon that you need to pay attention to. Now, when he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee. And leaving Nazareth, he went and he lived in Capernaum by the sea in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali. So, that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled.
The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the way of the sea beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles. The people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light. So, Jesus, the light of God, the light of heaven, went to these two towns to preach to them. That's why he's called the light. Now, listen to this.
And for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned. This is Jesus, of course. Listen to verse 17. This is his first sermon.
He goes to these two towns. They're dark towns. They're sinful towns. They're towns that are straight away from the Lord. And listen to his first sermon ever, verse 17.
From that time, Jesus began to preach saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
That was his first sermon.
His ser- His first sermon wasn't theologically deep or he didn't preach about things that sounded confusing. No.
His first sermon ever, the first sermon of Jesus Christ ever, right after he left the wilderness, the first thing he preached to these two towns, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
What does it mean to repent? It means to turn away from your sin. Do you know this is something that a lot of people are avoiding today? They want God to help them with their fear. They want God to help them with their depression. They want God to help them with their drug addiction. They want God to help them with their marriage. They want God to help them with all their problems, all their battles, all their struggles, the lust, everything. They want God to help them with everything.
But the thing that God is after, the first thing that God is after, repentance, that's something they don't want to do. Why?
Because as long as we don't repent, then we don't have to look at ourselves. Do you know what's worse than a four-letter word?
Worse than the F word, worse than the B word, worse than any cuss word you can ever any person can ever use. Do you know what's the worst word? I mean, people get offended if you tell them this. You can cuss at people and they can shake it off and ignore it. But if you call someone a sinner, oh man, they hate that. They hate that. No one likes to feel like if they're sinners. But that was the first sermon Jesus ever preached, "Repent." Now, let me show you why this is a problem since the beginning. Genesis chapter 3:7-13.
This is a consequence of the sinful nature. Do you know the first time people try to justify themselves was in the Garden of Eden? Pay attention to this. Genesis 3:7-13.
And this got them in trouble, by the way.
This is after they bite the forbidden fruit. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves a loincloth. What was the first reaction of Adam and Eve when they sinned against the Lord and they saw that they were naked? Their first reaction when they knew they sinned was not to go to God.
Their first reaction was to try to cover themselves, hide themselves. That's the reaction of humanity till this day. The reaction of humanity is to cover themselves, to hide themselves, to hide themselves from the presence of God. Do you know where what repentance is?
Repentance is the opposite. Repentance is that you're approaching the presence of God carrying your sins, carrying your burdens, carrying your flaws, carrying your faults, carrying your mistakes, and you're bringing all your flaws and mistakes before the Lord. But Adam and Eve, the first thing they did, this is the evidence of the sinful nature, they hid themselves and they tried to cover themselves.
And listen to what else the scripture says.
And when they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. They were trying to hide under the shade. God is light. These people were trying to hide in the darkness.
When you don't repent, you're doing the same thing. We're living in a modern-day Garden of Eden. We're doing modern-day Adam and Eve stuff. We're biting the forbidden fruit in modern times. When you do not repent, you are being We are being modern-day Adam and Eves. Instead of approaching the Lord, instead of going to the Lord, I've sinned, I've failed, look at my flaws, look at my struggles, look at the things I battle with, look at my hatred, look at my bitterness, look at my resentment, instead of coming to God and telling him everything that we have, we sometimes, many times, we are like Adam and Eve and we try to hide ourselves. But that's not the key. That's not the solution. The Bible says that whoever hides their sins will not receive mercy. But whoever reveals their sins, confesses their sins, will receive mercy. Confess your sins today in the presence of the Lord.
Listen to this.
But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?" God right here giving them an opportunity.
Something about God, he gives us opportunities every single day. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?" He said, "I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid myself." He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten?" Look at the question that God says. Look at how he phrases. "Have you eaten?" Not, "Did somebody give you the fruit? How did you eat the fruit? How did you get the fruit?" He simply [clears throat] told him, "Have you eaten? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?" Again, God is very direct to Adam.
He's talking in the singular to Adam.
God already knows all things. He knows that Eve it ate it, too. He knows about God knows everything, but he's talking very singular to Adam, very very personally to Adam. Why? Because this is the key to receive forgiveness. It's one-on-one, one-on-one, us talking to God, okay? And that's what God is trying to show Adam.
He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree which I commanded you not to eat?" The man said, "The woman who you gave to be with me, she gave me of the fruit of the tree, and I ate." What did he do? He's basically blaming God. Like, in other words, the way I'm like this, the way I struggle with this, I was born like this, you know, that's what people say.
"I was born like this.
I didn't ask for these parents. I didn't ask to be this race. I didn't ask to be born in this neighborhood. I didn't ask to be born in this country." Basically, humanity always likes to blame God. That That's basically what the story is teaching us. But God, you're the one that gave me this woman.
You You're the one that formed her.
She's the one that gave it to me. So, I mean, technically, God, I guess it's your fault. That's what Adam's saying. I mean, listen to the state of humanity.
Humanity does not like to confess their sins. But that's not the way to receive mercy. God wants to give you mercy today. Go to the Lord. What was the first preaching Jesus ever preach?
Repent. If Jesus is telling you to repent, turn away from your sins, that means he's going to accept you. He needs you to repent so that he can start working in your life, okay? Listen to this.
He said, "The woman you gave me." The man said, "The woman who you gave to me be with me, she gave me the fruit of the tree, and I ate." Then the Lord God said to the woman. Now, God's going to give her a chance. "What is this that you have done?" Again, very singular. God always talks to people singular. "What is this that you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." So, what do we see here? We can call it the spiritual blame game. God God asked Adam, "What did you do?" He said, "The woman." God asked Eve, "What did you do?" She said, "The serpent."
The blame game. Today, I want to ask you a question. How long have you been playing the blame game? And And if you're really honest, if you're really honest, I've been preaching a long time and I've heard a lot of things, okay?
If you're really honest, you probably been playing the game blame game a long time. I've heard people blaming. I'm not discrediting it, and I'm not taking away from what you feel, and I'm not trying to diminish what you feel, but I've heard a lot of people blame parents, relatives, schools, teachers, friends, family, siblings, governments. I've heard so many people blame so many different type of individuals and establishments.
But right now, right now is not the time to point the finger to anyone. It's not. It's not the time to point the finger.
There was a man named Daniel who was thrown to the lions' den by some jealous men who deceived the king to make a law that no one can pray to any other god except the king. And Daniel wasn't going to stop praying to the Lord. It wasn't his fault. He didn't do anything wrong. It was those evil men that were you know, they were the council of the king, and it was their fault. But Daniel didn't get bitter against them. Daniel didn't blame them. Daniel didn't say, "God, why are you treating me like this? I'm faithful to you. Look at these evil men.
They're treating me wrong. They're making me become angry. They're making me become bitter. They're tempting me."
Daniel didn't say none of that. He trusted in the Lord God, and you know who's the one that saved him out the lions' den? The Lord God. When you trust in the Lord God, the Lord God's the one that's going to save you. If you're trying to blame other people, then you're blaming God in reality. When we blame others, we're really blaming God.
Let's not do that.
Listen to this. Matthew chapter 7 verse 21 through 23. I want to show you what's going to happen to people who try to justify themselves by their good works, who don't want to go to God and repent, turn away from their sins, humble themselves to the Lord. Matthew chapter 7 21 through 23. We're going to read about some preachers, some pastors, some evangelists, some deliverance ministries, I guess you can say what do you call them ministers, deliverance ministry ministers right here in the book of Matthew chapter 7 21 through 23.
Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven."
On that day, meaning the judgment day, many will say to me, "Lord, did we not prophesy, which means preach, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?" And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you, depart from me, you workers of lawlessness." The truth is that all our righteous deeds are like filthy rags. If we don't have Jesus Christ covering us and washing us and making us righteous, then we're just like these people in the book of Matthew chapter 21 23. If I'm someone who tries to tell the Lord, "Lord, but I've been preaching 20 years.
Lord, but I make YouTube videos that reach so many people. Lord, but so many people have got saved. Lord, but I do this and I do that and I never focus the attention on myself and I never go to God and depend on him and trust him, but I'm depending on what I do and I use that as a badge of honor. I use that as a covering to cover And I try to use certain things I do to cover myself from the presence of God.
I'm just like Adam and Eve. And right here in Matthew 7 21 through 23 we read where God told these people, "I never knew you. You you never trusted in me.
You were never under my covering. You were always under your own covering."
That's not the will of God for you.
Says, "For God so loved the world he gave his one and only begotten son that whosoever should believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
The will of God is for you to be covered by him to receive mercy. Now pay attention to this.
Matthew 21 28 through 33. Jesus is teaching us not to trust in our own righteousness, but to trust in him, to live a life of repentance, to confess our sins to God. Matthew 21 28 through 33. Listen to this. Jesus says a story.
"What do you think? A man had two sons.
He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work in the vineyard today.' He answered, 'I will not.'" But afterward he changed his mind. Do you know that's what repentance is? A change of the mind.
He said at first, "I'm not." But then afterward he changed his mind and went.
And he went to the other son and said to the same thing. And he answered, 'I go, sir.' But he didn't go. So you have one son that said, 'No, I'm not going to go.' But repented and went. You have another son that said, 'Yeah, I'll go.'
But he never went. He never showed up.
Listen to this.
Verse 31. "Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said to him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you." Now Jesus is talking to a group of follow people that are following him but are not believing in him, not surrendering to him. So he's using this story to tell them, "You're the second son. You're the son that seems so spiritual and seems so obedient, but you really in your own personal time, you ain't living for God." And listen to what he tells them right here. Verse 31.
"Which of the two did the will of the father?" They said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, the tax collectors, the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. And even when you saw it, you did not afterward change your minds and believe in him." Meaning you didn't repent. Prostitutes and tax collectors, which were the worst sinners of society in those days cuz they were betraying their own country.
Jesus said the worst of the worst If you see this worst of society, like the tax collectors of principle of tax collectors, and then the worst when it came to actual like physical sins like a prostitute. So you have the two worst sinners, the worst sinners of society and the worst sinners like physical sins, prostitutes and tax collectors, both of those people repented when they heard John and they believed, but the people that looked spiritual and the people that went to the synagogue Sabbath after Sabbath, they never repented.
And Jesus said, "They're in the kingdom of God and you're not."
And what was stopping them?
The change of the mind.
Their repentance.
What was the first sermon that Jesus ever preach and the most important sermon that Jesus ever preach? Repent.
I can preach to you about all the theological things. I can tell you about all the mysteries in the in the scripture. I can talk to you about revelations that God has given me. But what good is that going to do if a person has not crossed the line into the kingdom of God? And that line is when you repent of your sins, when you confess Jesus Christ.
What good is it if you're not doing that?
What is the most important sermon Jesus ever preach? Repent. Today, is that something you want to do? Do you want to repent of your sins? Are you saved? If you're not saved, the scripture says if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, you will be saved. But if you are saved and you've been living a life trying to cover yourself with your own actions and your own good deeds and and there's things in your life that you have not been surrendering to God, today is the day to stop being like Adam and Eve and go to God genuinely and tell the Lord, "Wash me and cleanse me." Is that you today? Do you want to repent?
Make this declaration of faith. And if you do, you will be saved. And if you're already saved, you're realigning yourself with God. Make this declaration. Say this. Say, "Father God, I come to your presence in the mighty name of Jesus.
Lord, I ask you to forgive me for all my sins and all my faults.
Jesus, I believe you are the son of God, that you died on the cross and resurrected on the third day for the salvation of my soul and the forgiveness of all my sins. Jesus, wash me, cleanse me, and make me new.
And fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen." I want to let you know if you make that declaration of faith, God's holy word that does not lie says that you have the God-given right to be called a child of God. Your sins have been forgiven.
