The analysis overreaches by framing a broad theological critique of technology as a targeted political maneuver against a single leader. It intellectualizes a global moral debate simply to serve a narrow partisan narrative.

The Pope Just Came For TrumpAdded:
Why does a pope pick artificial intelligence? That is a question I could not shake. Leo had the whole menu in front of him. War, um, poverty, hunger, the actual creator of the universe. And out of all of that, the biggest document of his life goes to chatbots and data centers. I think the answer is hiding in the final chapter. And the final chapter is barely about machines at all, as you're about to find out. Well, on May 15, Leo released the big one. He calls it Magnifica Humanitas, and he did not slip it out on a quieter Tuesday. He timed it to the 135th anniversary of the exact document that started the whole tradition of the church, claiming a vote on how the world gets run.
So this is the flagship, the heir to the founding text, the swing Leo wants history to remember him for. And a man who picks his moment that carefully means that he will absolutely pick his subject very carefully. And he picked AI. But but forget the robots for a second. The question worth asking is not what Leo thinks about the technology. The question worth asking is who Leo is talking to while he pretends to talk about technology because this is how he sets the scene. Leo says technological power has gone private. The people building AI now sit on more money and more rich than most governments on earth. And then he claims that in the digital world the highest authority is no longer the state, it is the companies, it is the platforms. So well so far fair enough.
But then Leo hands the church a job. He says that somebody has to step in and start naming the new monopolies of AI, naming names. And he wants to disarm AI as well. pulled it straight out of the race for what he calls geopolitical and commercial dominance. So, let's think about that for a moment. A 2,000-year-old institution just filed paperwork for a seat at the table where the future of computing power gets carved up. The man wants the whistle. Leo wants to referee the single most valuable game on the planet. And he also called data the new rare earths of power. I repeat, the new rare earths of power. A man in white robes written for the exact phrase a mining executive would use on an earnings call. It sounds less like the Holy Spirit moving through him and more like he asked a machine to generate the most artificial sentence a human being could possibly say about well artificial intelligence because Leo does not stop there. He says whoever controls the population's health data and genetic data holds leverage over the future. They get to decide who receives medicine first, who receives investment first, who gets protected first. He calls it a new colonialism, data colonialism. And he traces it all the way down to the floor of the supply chain down to the children crushing ore in pits. So the rare earths keep flowing so that his worst again, the computational flow may continue uninterrupted. But let's pretend for a moment that he's right about part of that because we we know for a fact that this is the case of children in for example the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That is a fair point and something that must be addressed internationally. But take the robes off and you're looking at a power map. Stability energy rare earth compute. Remember compute is the new oil. This is the same board everybody is fighting over. The same board everybody fighting over AI is already staring at. Now this is where many people still can't decide what is their stance. Some people affirm that AI is just a huge financial bubble like this grift of this three or four companies that wipe money to each other in this multipleheaded orura boros and other others think that AI simply doesn't work and the the risks are an overstatement. Some claim that it is never going to take human jobs and some say that it is going to render a huge chunk of jobs obsolete. So yeah, at the moment there's a lot of opinions about that. And in the middle of all that confusion, look who shows up.
The co-founder of Anthropic, the company behind Claude AI, stood on a stage inside the Vatican and personally helped Leo present his encyclical to the world. a pope unveiling the biggest document of his life and seated right there in the row of cardinals an AI executive that that is a lovely little coincidence. It's not that Anthropic wanted the marketing now can't be that. But look at why that company in particular wanted a moral halo this badly right now. Not long ago, Trump cancelled Anthropic's $200 billion Pentagon contract and labeled the whole company as supply chain risk, which locked them out of working for the US government. Open AAI walked right in and signed a defense deal while Anthropic was busy walking away from one. So, the lab that refused to build for the military went and found itself a new platform. Not the Pentagon, but the Vatican. and their co-founder stood in that holy room and said, "The industry needs people who are not chasing the money to be its conscience." And that was said by a billionaire about his own product from a stage next to the pope. That is a billboard in the middle of Time Square that money cannot buy.
So keep that company in the back of your head because the final chapter is about to explain exactly why the pope wanted them standing next to him. Now when when we arrive at the final chapter, the final chapter forgets all about the machines all of a sudden. It is about war and it is about power and you're in the power pundit. So it's it is our topic here. Leo declares the old idea of a just war outdated. Dawn off the table. Then he names the enemy out loud. The truly irresponsible thing he writes is realism called political realism. So Hobbes is turning in his grave right now. So to make it clear to you, the pope is against belief that the world is a hard place and a serious leader plans for conflict. Leo spends an entire paragraph calling that that world worldview the dangerous one preparing for conflict. That that is dangerous. He calls great power competition a new tower of Babel. He throws out the whole me first friend or foe, us versus them way of running a nation. He he even quotes his own first speech, the one where he begged everyone to quit dividing the world into the good guys and the bad guys. So, I didn't watch this one live, but I can imagine that he played imagine in the background, pun intended. But again, let me connect it for you. A document about technology and a finale that grades a foreign policy.
There is exactly one man on earth who is the me first guy and the good guys versus bad guys guy and the cold realism guy all at the same time. And Leo circles that man for an entire chapter without ever once typing his name. But you know who it is, right? You know who Leo was talking about. So the most powerful religious institution on the planet had every kind of human suffering on the table to write about and it it spent its biggest document in a generation circling the method of one single president. And if you saw my other videos about Po Leo, this should land as unsurprising. Leo calls realism irresponsible from a marble desk in Rome. While realism is the the one thing keeping a lid on the fires that are actually burning right now, he he should walk over and open a window, the view outside is is a world where the realists are the ones holding the line and the dreamers are the ones who keep getting people killed. But while the pope plays referee, the man he's refereing made their real moves this week and not one of them is about conscience. One of them just agreed to pay a rival more than $1 billion every single month. And why he would do that is the real map of of who is about to own the century. And I broke the whole thing down on my blog, The Power Pundit.
But if you want my deeper analysis on geopolitics and the behavior of the people who run the world, go check my blog, The Power Pundit dot com. I can say things there that I prefer not to say anywhere else. Link in description. and share this video with your family and friends so they know what's really going on. My name is Jesus Enrique Rosas. I'm the power pundit. Much love and bliss.
