Culpable homicide cases against Health Minister's driver

[00:00:00]The South African police service has just confirmed that they are investigating in fact two cases of culpable homicide following the tragic death of three people after two separate car vehicle accidents in Limpopo which involved the official vehicle of the Minister of Health Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi Motsoaledi over the weekend in Bela-Bela on Saturday. Now, what is uh quite tragic about these incidents uh Tembe Kile is that uh what we understand from this police statement is that the woman was carrying a child on her back and holding another child on her hand crossing the road to go to an earlier accident that involved her husband in fact. Now, in that accident her husband was killed um and this is after he allegedly was hit by another vehicle which was driven by an SAPS member. She then, crossing the road, was hit by this vehicle that was uh carrying the Minister of um um of Health Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi. Um she unfortunately also lost her life uh together with the baby she was carrying on her back. This an extraordinary tragic story here.

[00:01:12]Police are saying now that this case has also now been handed over to IPID and IPID is now investigating this particular matter.

[00:01:20]We're We're trying to get hold of Atlenda Mathe she is the national spokesperson of the SAPS of course the Brigadier Atlenda Mathe just to get to the bottom of what really transpired on this particular road and that of course is this Saturday in Bela-Bela. So, tragic story there. Mother and child killed in the incident.
