Children with sensory processing differences may have specific preferences about what they wear and tolerate, such as preferring no headwear, gloves, or certain accessories, while being comfortable with clothing on their torso and limbs; understanding these individual sensory needs helps caregivers create comfortable environments and support their children's participation in activities.

Would you like this for your birthday?Added:
I've had too many flowers.
So, we got to do a second base.
birthday um tip. Don't leave messes. No messes. I got to do that, too. Priscilla opened some of her gifts. Well, some are out here. She opened all her gifts, but some out here. I told her she's like, "You got a pool day today, babe. It's your birthday." Okay, so she's got a new swim float. She's got a new candle. Got some Fourth of July Memorial Day towels and pickle ball, of course. So, we were just playing pickle ball and now I'm sweating, >> right?
>> It's hot. It's so hot. They make a little 10ft net that we can put right next to the pool. We're going to be chasing the ball a lot. We're going have to get out of the pool a lot, but that's okay. It'll still be fun.
She got a phone stand for her boutique.
What else you get?
>> I saved the Jaguars.
>> Oh, you got a new Stanley Cup.
>> Yep. Yeah.
>> And Isaiah got me the Jaguars basket.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Towel and football.
>> That's right.
>> From the same guy that I have the towel from.
>> Oh, really?
>> Yeah.
>> Really? So, if you saw Priscilla caught the towel, >> I think it was on your Instagram.
>> Yeah.
>> Josh Hines Allen.
>> I always want to say Josh Allen Hines.
>> Yeah. Josh Hines Allen. Um his field towel that like wipes his sweat with and stuff. He threw it up and Priscilla caught it and she was like, you know, but she loved it. So, she also got to sign football because they had a fundraiser event for um Catholic Charities and Camp I am special. So, >> so Isaiah saw it and he was like, "It'll match. It'll go with your towel."
>> Yeah. Yeah. So, she's gonna put her sweaty gross towel over top of the football and like put it on display or something.
>> He's a good dude though, too. Like good person. Yeah. We like him.
>> I'm like a dog lady.
>> You are a dog lady.
>> He's a dog lady.
>> Yep.
Sandy was trying to get on my float.
Oh, you're not floating with me.
>> Like, no. No, really.
Zuko's doing good.
>> Yes.
Go to your stairs. He's like, I want to swim with you, Mom.
>> Zuko.
Come on.
No panic or anything. He's doing good.
>> Yep.
>> I got I had to get a bigger one for him cuz he's going to be bigger. So, >> Frizzo to Well, sometimes she needs her life jacket so she can work herself out.
>> Hey, bud. How you doing?
Hi.
>> Oh, I can't figure out.
>> He looks like a deer. Why?
He's standing up like a human. Come on.
Come on.
Put those back legs up. You got it. Come on, buddy. Come here.
Come on, Zuko.
You got it.
They're just like steps. I know they're underwater, but there's still steps.
Come on, Zuko.
>> Massive step.
>> Let's go.
Come here. Come here. There you go.
Goofy.
>> He's so goofy.
We had a little bit of time before going to get Abby. So, uh, we're going to HomeGoods for her birthday.
>> So excited. Haven't been at HomeGoods forever.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Lemons.
>> The lemon tree for my dining room.
It's so cute. I don't think it is.
>> I feel like you would love to work here.
Like I could totally see you setting up this Fourth of July display. Heck >> yeah.
>> Like this is like they even put the red cans of drink over here. And >> so cute.
>> We got a base. We got a base for Frenchie finally.
>> And some oranges cuz you know we need those. And Priscilla was just talking about needing a new dining set.
>> Okay. All of ours have chips and cracks.
>> Yeah, >> like all of them.
>> But look, it's only $29.99.
>> That's crazy.
>> But I need two of them >> cuz I need a set of eight, >> right?
>> You know, >> that's a really good price. So, I know it's table, but >> sounds better.
>> Cute.
>> You can get two of them, right?
>> I don't know. I don't know if they have to.
>> Oh, sure they do.
If you didn't know, if you didn't know, how old would you guess Priscilla was by her birthday shopping trip? We have a new pillow.
>> We have dishes set, some fake lemon, uh, oranges, >> and a pedestal for our goose.
>> For a porch goose. At what age would you say that she shops in?
>> Your mom would appreciate this shopping, huh?
>> She would. And now she's looking at sheets.
How did this happen?
>> Isaiah requested new scrub brushes for doing dishes.
>> He did.
>> It's a great lamp, babe.
>> Right. I love it.
>> You picked it.
>> I did. It's Friday and it's Priscilla's birthday, so we've got to do Dutch and >> Aby's Hey. Hey. Hey. What are we doing?
Where'd your iPad go? Okay, we got rid of it. We threw it in the back, but we were just talking about Dutch Bros. And she was really excited. I promise it happened. Um, so Priscilla gets her birthday drink.
>> Yeah, get free one.
>> A free one on your birthday.
>> This My phone is calling me out right now. It's like clean the front camera.
That's so rude. iPhone.
>> Oh, that that just brings me so much joy.
So, well, a lot of people when they see like, okay, so the cruise video where Abby was apprehensive to go out and dance for that party that they had in the prominade, you know, and you know, a lot of new people saw that video cuz I did a a real on Facebook >> and they're talking about like, >> you know, would headphones help her like or what if they had a silent disco go.
So people could have the headphones on, but then she could still be part of the people without hearing the music. See, the thing is is Abby loves the loud music. That's what attracts her to the environment is the loud music.
>> It can also be overstimulating for her in certain environments, but Abby loves loud music. Like half the time she's asking for a new song, it's not a new song, she just wants it louder.
>> Yeah.
>> Um >> she's happy when it's cranked.
>> Yeah. We've tried. The other thing is we've tried the silent disco, but she doesn't like having headphones on. So many people are like, "Just do the headphones for her in different environments, but Abby doesn't want sunglasses, headphones, a hat, like no no accessories."
>> Yeah. The someone had commented about what about like the loops?
>> Oh, >> that go in your ear. You know, >> she won't even put the like she doesn't want any of that stuff.
>> Like I'll let her listen like a song on my AirPods or something. She doesn't want it in her ear. certain hair ties we use.
>> Yeah. So, she won't do like scrunchies or anything like that. Like anything that she knows is there, you know what I mean?
>> Um she she doesn't like like we get away with the little rubber bands and >> which are terrible for Yeah. And the bobby pins, but it's the only thing that she'll leave in her hair, so that's why we use them.
>> Yeah. Nothing on her head. So, like Halloween costumes that have hoods or hats are a no-go. Like anything like that.
>> Yeah.
>> If it's raining, doesn't matter. She's not putting her hood up. She's pretty good with clothing because I know that's a big thing for some kids. She's pretty good with clothing.
>> From the shoulders down, she doesn't >> Yeah. Other than >> seem to have between the ankles and the neck, no sensory issues as far as like >> she doesn't act as if or, you know, >> undergarments don't bother her. Like nothing.
>> Nothing. Nothing. It doesn't Priscilla doesn't have to be super choosy with the fabric.
>> Nope.
>> Like the material. Um, >> she doesn't really care >> because if if Abby Abby would take it off, if she doesn't like it, she'd take it off in a heartbeat. Like, she wouldn't care. She would just take it off. If a shirt bothered her, she would take it off.
>> Yeah.
>> Which which could be bad depending on where you're at, but >> Yeah. So, pretty much from the ankles to the neck, >> she's good.
>> She's good. Feet, head, >> face.
>> Don't want nothing on it. Face, >> right? Is that about right? Yeah.
That's so funny, Y.
>> Yeah. And we love love love to crank our teeth.
>> No extremities.
>> Oh, yeah. Hands either. No gloves.
>> Yeah.
>> No gloves. Can't stand having anything on her hands.
>> She doesn't care about long sleeve shirts.
>> Nope.
>> Or jackets.
>> Okay. Wrist, ankles, neck.
>> It's all the extremities.
>> Did you see mom's cake?
>> Yeah. You excited?
>> Mhm.
See the See the gold the gold sprinkles I put on it. Yeah, I had to dress it up a little bit.
>> Fancy.
>> Thanks. I tried to be fancy.
>> I think we don't need a whole cake.
>> Yeah, whole cake.
>> Whole cake.
That's okay. They can bring you a dessert, but you're going to have cake, too. We're going to put the seat up just for for safety sake. Not that I don't trust you, but I don't trust you. Oh, y'all look lovely.
>> Thank you.
These are not boutique dresses.
>> No, these aren't from the boutique. This is like our go-to birthday spot, Bella Vista. It's in Fruit Cove. If you haven't been, it's fantastic.
Hello.
>> Good to see you. Welcome back.
>> Yeah.
Good to see you.
>> How's it going? Good to see you, >> guys. Good to see you. Hey, how you doing? Welcome, >> can you say hi?
>> Hey, can you say hello? Hi.
>> You excited?
>> Birthday dinner.
>> We got mom sat over there cuz she's a lefty. So, >> you're welcome. I'll be on a few for you guys.
>> You're such an iPad kid.
>> Look. Go like this. Go like this.
>> Look at that. Like that. You ready?
going to marry you.
>> Don't do that.
>> Do you like this?
>> Ready?
>> Close.
>> What? What are we having for dinner?
Tell him. Say we have >> Will make you nervous if I film it though. Is it going to make you more nervous? This is his first time making this dish.
>> We're going to tag you. That would be perfect.
Comes in a 55 lb cheese wheel.
>> He's making your dinner. Isn't that cool? From a giant parmesan wheel.
>> Right over it.
>> Dang it.
>> I didn't even send somebody back here to watch you.
>> Yeah, they're watching it for the kids.
>> It's okay. I'll cut that part out.
>> Perfect. First time.
>> First time.
>> Are you ready? Are you excited? Here it comes.
>> Abby.
>> Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you.
>> Yay.
>> Hey, look at mama. Look at mama.
>> Is it so good?
>> Say, "Yeah, I've been waiting the whole meal for this." Mom, >> I wanted to.
>> She saw me carrying the cakes. She was talking about the whole time. She kept saying, "Cupcake, cupcake."
>> Abby, look.
>> A, that is a good smile. Hey, look at me. No.
>> Ab, look.
>> That was pretty good.
>> What was you going to say, Boo? I was going to say falling down other than at home.
>> Your backpack today.
>> We have stuff everywhere in here.
>> Is it your birthday or mom's birthday?
Huh?
I know. Kitchen is the countertops are full in the kitchen. Is going to go crazy.
