[00:00:07]In the season 23 episode, which aired back in 2012, the family goes on a dream cruise until a breaking news bulletin interrupts the fun and warns of a deadly global virus, trapping everyone at sea and turning the ship into a floating nightmare. Now that there's been a real 2026 Hanta virus outbreak on the Dutch-flagged expedition cruise ship, people are cutting [music] that scene together with real news footage and calling it another perfect Simpsons prediction. Some videos even point to the quick gag where Homer and Marge stick out purple tongues and claim that it matches Hanta virus symptoms, which is pretty much pure internet reach. What those clips leave out is the twist in the episode. The virus is completely fake. Marge splices together footage from disaster movies and broadcasts it [music] as news, tricking the entire ship just so he doesn't have to go home.
