Why drought conditions won't stop mosquitoes in Hampton Roads

[00:00:00]Mosquito season is already ramping up across Hampton Roads and experts say even though we're in a drought right now, that doesn't mean mosquitoes are gone. I'm Jordy Clark and today I got a behind-the-scenes look inside Chesapeake Mosquito Control's lab where biologists are trapping, identifying, and testing mosquitoes for diseases like West Nile virus ahead of summer. Experts say mosquito eggs can actually survive dry conditions for long periods of time just waiting for rain and warmer temperatures to hatch.
