This sermon teaches that stewardship involves faithfully using the opportunities and resources God has given us, rather than constantly seeking more or comparing ourselves to others. The parable of the talents illustrates that those who work diligently with what they have are rewarded, while those who are slothful and frustrated with God's timing are condemned. The key principle is that we should steward what is in front of us, not what we don't have, and we should not pray for things we already possess. When we feel stuck, we should delegate to others and surrender our burdens to Jesus, trusting that He will guide us through our circumstances.

We must reach those with the name of Jesus. That is the assignment. That is the mandate that Jesus has given his church to preach his name in all the earth.
We can never forget the three things that Jesus has called us to do. Win the lost to the power of his name. baptize those that believe and teach those baptized believers the word of God. If we lose focus of these three things, we have missed the very assignment that Jesus has called, equipped, and sent us to do.
and you say the name Jesus, you are speaking of the manifested word of God.
There's more power in that one name.
There's more power in that one name than anything you could ever write in your journal, anything you could ever view on YouTube. There is more power in that name than you could ever begin to fathom.
The gospel is the good news of God. It's the good news. It's the good news that he who knew no sin took my sin on a cross and died in my place. He died for me. That way I don't have to stand before God and die in my own sin. One already died. He already died for me. He died for me and then got up from the dead to make sure everything he wrote in his will would be enforced. And I have become the beneficiary. I have become the heir of his death. I now have life because of his death. and nothing shall separate me from this life that I have in him. That's good news. That's good news. That's the gospel. That's why we want to put his name out there. That's why we want his name out there because his name embodies his word and it represents his character and all that is. There is power in the name of Jesus.

One more day when I didn't deserve it. One more day.
Yeah.
One more day.
I was reading in Hebrews 9 the other day and it talks about the tabernacle. It talks about the process. It talks about the priest and it talks about what is required for the forgiveness of sins.
And in verse 22 it says that there is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood. And this process continues over time. It says it was a yearly thing. And halfway through the chapter, it says, "But Christ, when Jesus entered the equation, everything changed." And when Jesus enters your story, everything has to bow to his name.
And so, as it continues, Jesus didn't just come and sacrifice another animal and continue what was already happening.
Where there was a comma where tradition would continue, Jesus put a period.
He sacrificed himself. He went to the cross willingly for us. They didn't have to drag him there. They didn't have to force him there. He went there on his own. At any moment, he could have called down angels from heaven and he would have been spared. But as he was beaten, as he was mocked, as he was tortured, he had you and me on his mind.
And as he hung up on that cross and his blood poured out for us, it was because of his love.
It was because of his love for us. And as he took his last breath, the will of God for mankind was enacted. All sins were forgiven through the free gift of salvation. We can spend eternity with him. And we have access to the father.
And so tonight, we're going to sing a new song that talks about the blood of Jesus, that talks about the power that is within his blood. His blood still works today. No matter what you came in here with, what you did last night, what you did last week, his blood covers you.
There's lyrics in the song that say, "The work you did is finished. All of our sins forgiven, and now we get to live in the wonder of the working blood.
He loves you tonight and his blood has power over your life. So as we sing this song, I just want to invite you to think upon the Lord. Think upon what Jesus did for you. Let's sing this together, church.
The precious fountain from Calary's mountain flowing down to you and I.
It washes us clean.
Oh, what a mist.
The red blood makes me want.
Isn't it worth your doesn't it make you wonder how something so profound could be so sinful?
The blood. The blood. The blood. Oh my god.
Sing a song. Praises belong to the song.
The blood, the blood, the blood. Oh, the wonderful blood.
My precious Jesus.
Oh, I'm so thankful for the day you save my life.
As I remember, my heart grows tender to begin to fulfill my eyes.
And isn't it worth your doesn't it make you wonder how something so profound could be so simple?
What a wonderful you love. You love you love song.
It was my heart.
How you save me? How you save me? How you resurrected my life for me?
The work you did is finished.
All of our for the wonder of the working.
The cross was your decision.
But death was not the end. Heat. Heat.
All for the wonder you Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. Heat.
All the wonderful you Heat. Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
All for the cross.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Oh, heat, heat.
Jesus.
Heat. Heat.
Thank you.
Thank you for your Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Yeah. Heat.
Yeah. Heat.
Yeah. Heat.
Yeah. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
My oppressions is the flow that makes me want other found nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Nothing but the blood of Jes.
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Jesus, thank you for your blood. Thank you that there is still power in the blood. Thank you for the wonderworking power of the blood tonight.
Lord, we are so grateful that you gave your life for us. That you shed your blood on that cross for us so that we could spend eternity with you. Lord, we thank you for these moments where we can encounter you, where heaven falls on the room and we get to sit with you in this place. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. You are so holy, Lord. We love you. We thank you in Jesus name. Amen.
Amen. Amen.
But we're so glad you're here tonight.
Turn to your neighbor and say, "The blood still works.

In Philippians 4 17-19, God's spirit speaks to the church of Philippi through the Apostle Paul and declares that because they had given to meet the needs of the ministry, God would supply all of their need according to his riches in glory. We find that statement in verse 19. You know, there are these moments in life when our faith is challenged, where we have to move from what we see to what we believe. Second Corinthians chapter 5:7 says, "We walk by faith and not by sight." And I don't think that could be any truer than when it comes to our giving, when we're releasing what we can see. When we are giving based on what God has told us to do and the hope that we have in his word and in his kingdom, moving from what I see to what I believe, trusting that God is able to do just what he said in Philippians 4:19, meet all of my need according to his riches in glory. Giving in the faith that my bank account, my job, my income is not my source. God is my source. And I so believe that I'm able to give today and know that I will not be in lack or in want. As a matter of fact, the opposite. That I will be blessed because I am blessed to be a blessing. I hope today that shifts your faith from what I see to what I believe.
And with that in mind, let's make this profession out loud together. I give thanks this day unto the Lord my God for bringing me into prosperity. In fulfillment of the covenant of Abraham, a wandering and lost sinner was I bound to sin and ready to perish. I cried unto you, oh Lord, and you heard my cry, "Save my soul and delivered me through your great salvation. You brought me unto this place and gave me the Holy Spirit and revelation knowledge of the abundant life. Now I bring unto you the sacred tithe, the first fruit of the increase that you have given me according to your holy commandment. Look down, I pray from your holy habitation from heaven and bless your people according to your own word. We receive by faith the blessings of the covenant and thank you for them in Jesus' name.
Amen. And I say as Philippians 4:19 declared, "And my God shall supply all of your need according to his riches in glory."

Um I'm I'm going to go ahead and start because you will find out why a will tell you will tell you I talk a lot. I don't know if I talk as much as Pastor James, but I talk a lot. I do.
So, Matthew 25:14-18, are we there?
>> Amen. It says, "For the kingdom of heaven is a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to every man according to his several ability. and straightway took his journey. Verse 16, then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same and made them other five talents. Verse 17, and likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. The last verse we'll read for right now, verse 18, it says, but he that had received one went and digged in the earth and hid his lord's money.
Today we we're going to go into the topic of stewardship and open doors.
Stewardship and open doors. So pray with me. Thank you, heavenly father. Lord, I thank you so much for all of us that are here tonight, Lord, expecting to receive your word and for it to do what it does, Lord, which is give life to us, Lord.
And um I just want to thank you for your mercy, your grace. We sang, we worshiped about your blood, Lord, and we're just grateful for that right now, Lord.
thankful that man while we were yet sinners Lord you sent your son Lord to die for us and that oh my gosh even then Lord your mercy every single day your grace every single day we see it and we're so thankful for it right now God thank you so much Lord open ears open hearts open minds tonight Lord that every all of us Lord can receive your word Father and um if anything else Lord just you be glorified tonight. You be glorified in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. You may be seated.
Thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you. Once again, stewardship. Stewardship. Um it's a really uh really interesting topic in my life right now. I I love meditating on it, thinking about it. I I I tell people all the time. So, one of the things that I love to do in the word, I do it really just everywhere, but I encourage you to do it very analytical, very observing.
So, if I just glance over at this speaker right here and glance right back, I can tell you what color it is.
And maybe that's about it. But if I glance at it again, or maybe even just keep staring at it and observing it, I start to realize that there's some letters on it. There's some holes on it.
There's something on the top. There's a little handle, little plugin on the side. So, I choose to believe that the more you observe, even if it's the same thing, >> you can learn something more and more.
And and I and I my desire for you, really, I really encourage you to do that with a word. Yes, I already know John 3:16. I already know Psalm 23.
Stare at it for a little bit. Let the Lord just show. So, maybe you've read this story before, but stare at it with me a little bit. And maybe you've heard of stewardship before, but just stare at at it with me. Just just think about it.
Observe, meditate. And if anything, I want for you for this talk to not just end at, you know, the time that we finish tonight, which is around 10:30. I don't >> Amen.
>> I got one amen somewhere. Um, no, I'm just playing. I I don't want it to end there, though. I want it to just continue just overflow into tomorrow for you to meditate on it again and again and again. Right? So anyways, you guys with me?
>> Amen. I could preach in Spanish if you want.
>> No. All right, we're good. I'm going to keep going. So in stewardship, right, steward stewarding, when when you're when you're presented with something to steward, it's really um what I like to call an opportunity. An opportunity or an open door. An open door can be an opportunity, right? To I want I want us to take a look at open doors as as opportunities tonight. Amen. So, let me start with this.
If you ask the Lord for patience, do you just magically wake up tomorrow morning patient as can be? You wake up and and and your husband does the same thing he always does that usually annoys you and this time you're like, "Wow, I'm so patient."
Uh, no. Usually I If you ask the Lord for patience, he will give you an You got to work with me, man. We're We're live. I think he will give you an opportunity to be >> patient. There you go.
They usually answer me in Bojer.
I'm just playing.
I'm just playing. Shout out Boer. When you ask the Lord for courage, do you all of a sudden wake up the next morning the most courageous person in the world?
What God will do is give you an opportunity.
>> Man, this is working.
An opportunity to be courageous. Amen.
So that that that's something I want you to be meditating on just today. How how else would you know that you have something inside of you? Right?
>> Then to be placed in a situation where you have to exercise it, >> right?
>> Does that make sense?
>> If you go to the gym, how else do you know can you pick that weight up? How do you find out?
You know, you try to pick it up. It's just that simple, right? I'm a really simple man. I promise you. I promise you. I won't ask you anything too too deep, right? But usually it it involves an opportunity to show right what you got. In other words, opportunity has to do with stewardship, right? So, in order to go to stewardship uh to before actually we go there, I want to go into first kings 3 just in order to understand really a little more about stewardship and a little more about these uh this parable of the talents.
First Kings 3. Follow me there please.
First Kings 3.
When you get there, say amen.
Unless you got there before I did, then don't make me look bad.
Everybody said amen. I'm still looking.
First Kings 3.
Let's read from verse 5 to verse 12.
Verse 12. It's a lot of scripture, but this is word of God, right? Amen.
>> 1 Kings 3:5-12. It says in Gibian the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night and God asked what what I shall give thee. And God said sorry and God said ask what I shall give thee. Sorry verse six. And Solomon said thou hast showed unto thy servant David my father great mercy according as he walked before thee in truth and in righteousness and in uprighteousness of heart with thee. and thou has kept for him this great kindness that thou has given him David a son him to sit on his throne and it is this day as it is this day verse 7 and now oh Lord my God thou has made thy servant king instead of David my father and I am but a little child I know not how to go out or come in and thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen a great people that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. Verse nine, give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people that I may discern between good and bad. For who is able to judge this thy so great a people? Verse 10. And the speech pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing. Verse 11. And God said unto him, "Because thou has asked this thing, and has not asked for thyself long life, neither has asked riches for thyself, nor has the life of thine enemies, nor as the life of thine enemies, but has asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment." Verse 12, the last verse for right now. Behold, I have done according to thy words. Lo, I have given thee a wise and understanding heart, so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. This is um pretty well-known story of Solomon, right? And once again, if you ask the Lord for patience, he will give you an opportunity to be patient. If you ask the Lord for courage, he will give you an opportunity. So, right now, Solomon has asked for something, right?
So, what do we do? Well, let's just keep reading. Verse 16. Let's come go down to verse 16.
Now, you'll see something that I I would call an open door. Verse 16. Then came there two women that were harlots unto the king and stood before him. And the one woman said, "Oh my Lord, I and this woman dwell in one house, and I was delivered of a child with her in the house." Verse 18, "And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered that this woman was delivered also." So they both had a baby. And we were together, there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
So just them two, and they had the baby.
Verse 19. And this woman's child died in the night because she overlaid it. What a tragedy, right? Verse 20. And she arose at midnight and took my son from beside me while thine handmmaid slept and laid it in her bosom and laid her dead child in my bosom. This is pretty crazy if you start to think about it in real life. Verse 21. And when I rose in the morning to give my child sug, behold, it was dead. But when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear. Verse 22. And the other woman said, "Nay, but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son." And this said, "No, but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son." Thus they spake before the king.
So they're just sitting there arguing whose baby is whose. Right? In verse 23, then said the king, the one saith, this is my son that liveth, and thy son that is dead, and the other say nay, but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. Verse 24. And the king said, "Bring me a sword."
How wise, huh?
You just like to fix your situation like that, you know? Hey, we have an issue over here. Bring me a sword.
bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. Verse 25. And the king said, "Divide the living child in two and give half to the one and half to the other." You see, just the wisest man on earth is what I would call him.
Right? This is an amazing fix. This is going to fix the issue each one gets >> a little bit. Right? I don't see anything wrong with it. Verse 20.
Seven.
Sorry, where were we? Verse 26.
>> Help me, please. Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, so the real mother, right? For her bows yearned upon her son. And she said, "Oh my Lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it, but the other said, let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it."
27 Then the king answered and said, "Give her the living child, and in no wise slay, she is the mother thereof."
Verse 28, the last verse for right now.
And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged, and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do judgment.
To do judgment. What a crazy story, right?
But yet exactly what we're talking about. So the Lord comes to Solomon in a dream, right? And Solomon asks for something, something you can't see unless you're given an opportunity to show it, right? So as soon as he wakes up, an open door, how are you going to steward it, Solomon? What are you going to do with this open door? How are you going to fix this? This was an open door. Yes or no?
His request, see this whole story has to do with stewardship. But his request is directly connected to being a good steward, a good steward. Verses 11 and 12 is where we see that it's directly directly because the Lord answers him with it as in saying this is good that you said this is good. what you have asked for is good, right? And and his good stewardship is not only revealed, you know, in these but where can we see it?
Where else can we see it? Right? In this with this in mind, with this in mind, run with me to Genesis 3. There is a principle I would like to show you in Genesis 3. It's almost like a pause into our little story to see something that God does in Genesis 3.
If your neighbor is lost on where Genesis 3 is, tell them it's in the back.
I'm just playing. It's in the front.
I want you to smile. If you don't smile with me, I get nervous. So, please smile. Okay?
I'm just playing.
Here's a story of in my Bible, I'll be quick, too. In my Bible, it says the temptation of Eve, right? So in this in just to give some context, Adam and Eve in the beginning, right, created Garden of Eden, everything is perfect, everything is well, everything is good, right? Well, all of a sudden something happens. They send oh no, right?
In verse 9, this is something that caught my attention from even the beginning of my walk with Christ. In verse 9, let's go ahead and read it. Genesis 3:9 it says, "And the Lord God called unto Adam and said unto him, where art thou?" These are the questions that should make you go, h, what does this mean? It's almost like later on in scripture when you read that some of us will be in heaven and we will, you know, think that we should be there. And he said, I never knew you.
What do you mean you never knew what you created?
It makes you go, there must be something deeper there.
So, Adam, where are you? Did God know where he was?
>> Yes. Right. Simple question. Did does God know where all of us are?
>> Yes. And I I I truly think that there I have received two perspectives of this story hearing it, you know, um here and there. And one of the perspectives which is the most popular one in my opinion, which is very simple and very amazing to me, is he's he's asking Adam, "Where are you?" Because even in Adam's sin, the Lord is still saying, "Hey, I still want to be with you. I still want to hang out with you. I still want you in my presence. Please come back to me. He went and looked for Adam. Adam didn't have to go and look for God." Right?
That's the story of the gospel even in Genesis 3 saying that he sent his son that he came for us that we only loved because he first loved us. Right? So even then there's the story of the gospel in Genesis 3. Right? Amen. Amen.
just to me further further putting a stamp on Romans 5'8. Right? But God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners while Adam was yet a sinner. Adam, where art thou?
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Right? That's the beauty of the gospel. But there's another perspective, another perspective I I like. And I've heard this one and and I kind of like it. You don't have to choose. They can both be good. And and this perspective is that he knew where Adam was. He just wanted Adam to know where Adam was.
>> Does that make sense?
>> And sometimes we're put into situations and we're allowed to be in certain circumstances to simply find out who we are or what we might have in us. Are you guys understanding this?
So, Adam, where art thou? It was more for Adam than for God. Adam, where are you? That's another perspective that I I truly like. And it to me, one of the things that I love to receive from it is it is simply those questions that I believe the Lord even has asked us in circumstances before. It is simply to show us where we are, to reveal more about ourselves. Somehow it's to show us maybe the bad that we have to work on.
Or sometimes it's to reveal the good that we have. Most of the time it's the bad, right? We're not we're not that great. But sometimes we're like Peter.
Yeah, you can go there with me. Matthew 26. I was going to question whether or not there was too much scripture, but this is word of God, right? You got your Bible. Matthew 26.
Come on.
Just a small example of what we're talking about. Matthew 26 31 through35.
When you get there, say amen.
>> Y'all are fast.
Get there. Say amen. And amen. Like Bo, you're fast, too. Don't get jealous.
Matthew 26:31-35 says, "Then saith Jesus unto them, all ye shall be offended because of me this night." Some context behind this. This is the night Jesus was to go. He was betrayed. He's about to be crucified, right? Verse 26. Oh, sorry. What did I say? 31. Then saith Jesus unto them, "All ye shall be offended because of me this night." Speaking to his disciples, "For it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of of the flock shall be scattered abroad. But I after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. Listen to Peter. Verse 33.
Peter answered and said unto him, though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. Will I never be offended. Right? So Peter saying, I got this, Lord. Let them all fall away. I will never leave you.
Right? And Jesus said, "Wow, thank you, Peter."
No, he did not. In 34 he said Jesus said unto him verily I say unto thee that this night before the crow thou shalt deny me thrice three times.
Imagine if you were Peter in that moment to go from I'm not like these others.
Jesus you see I love you. I ain't ever going to leave you. Never going to forsake you. I'm right here. And Jesus says, "You're actually going like in couple minutes, you're going to deny me three times." Three times. Couple minutes, couple hours. The point is there that he told him, "You will deny me." 35 Peter said unto him, "Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee." Likewise also said all his disciples, the last part we skim through sometimes. So all of them started saying, "Uh, you know, let's jump on Peter's boat here." No, we're never going to deny you. We're never this.
We're never that. Right? And then if you read all the way down to verse 73 all the way down, flip a page if you have to. 73 to 75.
This is Peter now. You can read before that at home for time sake and you'll get a little more context that he has been asked already, right? Um or kind of been spotted and said, "Hey, you were with him. You know him." 73 says, "And after a while came unto him they that stood by and said to Peter, surely thou are thou also art one of them, for thy speech betrayeth them." So he says, "You sound just like them, Peter. You are with them." Right? 74 says, "Then began he to curse and to swear." So what did they say? You sound just like them, Peter. So Peter said, "Not anymore."
He started changing his speech to try not to sound like them. Right? Listen how far Peter got right. So 74 and uh saying I know not the man and immediately the crew in in 75 says and Peter remembered the word of Jesus which said unto him before the crow thou shalt deny me thrice and he went out and wept bitterly. That's ridiculous, right? We've never had that happen to us, right? Amen.
Sometimes we we we think we have something inside of us or we don't have something inside of us and we need to we we need to go through a circumstance through a situation to truly reveal do I have this do I have and we don't realize that at times right we don't but I I I'll ask you this question is how how do you know that the house is on the rock unless the storm comes >> you can say it all day long you can preach it all day long. But how do you know? Unless the storm comes.
That's how you know. That's how you know, man, he he he's standing on the rock. Why? Because he never fails.
Because he's always in a good situation.
Why? Because he seems so perfect. No, because his life is a mess. And look at him still going. Look at him still smiling. Look at him still at peace.
Look at him still preaching. Look at him still sewing the seed of the word of God even though he looks like he's not even in it himself. And he That's when you show it. Does that make sense?
>> That's when you know it. Now his house, man, it's on the rock. It's easy to talk it.
>> It's real easy. It's easy to post it, too.
Anyway, back to the word. Back to the word. That might have been for Boer, not street poor. Not you guys. That was not for y'all.
With that thought in mind, I know I've taken you around scripture. Don't get dizzy on me. Let's go back to first kings. First kings.
I forgot to tell you to put a bookmark there.
First Kings 3. And I want to view uh something that we read um with a different perspective with this everything that we just talked about in mind. First Kings 3.
I will get there if my page weren't sticking. When you get there, say, "Amen."
>> Let's read this with a different perspective. First Kings chapter 3 verses 11-2.
11 and 12. And God said unto him, because thou has asked this thing, and has not asked for thyself long life, neither has asked riches for thyself, nor has asked the life of thine enemies, but has asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment. Verse 12, behold, I have done according to thy words. Lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart, so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. Like unto thee.
I I' I'd like for you to have some grace and read this this this these two verses with a different perspective.
And that the Lord is telling him, the Lord is telling him because you have asked this.
In other words, you showed me and going from verse 12 to verse 11, you showed me that I have given you these things because you have asked this.
This might help you a little bit to know that the first open door, first opportunity for Solomon was not the two women.
It was verse five when it says when God said, "Ask what I shall give thee."
There's your first open door in this whole story. There's your first opportunity in this story.
What are you going to do with the question, Solomon? Much less the situation later. What are you going to do with the question in your dream? See, cuz there's a lot of times where God will show you, allow you to go through things privately where no one else is seeing before he ever allows you to go through it publicly.
So read it with with me with that perspective in mind.
Solomon, look at what you have asked for. Why else do I want you to read it with this perspective? Because Solomon says something that catches my attention that a lot of us do. A lot of us do.
He presents to me an excuse as to why he can't do something. A lot of times we do that. Amen. You guys following me?
In verse seven, read it. And now, oh Lord my God, thou has made me thy servant instead of David my king, and I am but a little child.
So we were to think that Solomon has this self-esteem that's like, you know, way up here that he thinks he can handle it all and do it all. But no, even when God presented him with this opportunity, he took a step back and said, I am but a child.
I can't do this. I can't steward this over here. Verse seven, I am but a child. I know not how to go out or come in. So Solomon is questioning his own self, what he has inside of him, what the Lord has placed inside of him of him. And what does the Lord do? He shows him. He says, "Hey, hey, hey, no, no, no. See, if you were but a child, if you couldn't do it, you would have never gave me that answer.
A child would not have asked for an understanding heart.
Sometimes we asked a question not to for us to see who he is, but because he's trying to allow us to see where we are and for what for to allow us to see what we have.
And so Solomon now I in in in a way he wakes up and he's like man and he's presented with an opportunity that now it further shows him exactly what he has with confidence. Bring me a sword knowing now yeah I'm not just a child.
The Lord has given me this. The Lord has given me this because we can't forget that part, right? That it is the Lord that gives us these things. It is the Lord that gives us an understanding heart. It is he that gives us wisdom, right? So he said, "You are a good steward, Solomon.
Just work with it.
Work with it.
Let's not look down on what the Lord has given us.
For all we know, we could be saying sitting there praying and praying and asking God for something that we already have.
We could be sitting there saying, "Lord, if you could just give me an opportunity, if you could just give me the five talents over there that that he has, if you could just give me that."
And we fail to see that, hey, you're praying for something that's already right in front of you. You're praying for something that the Lord has already given you, Solomon. You're saying you want an understanding heart.
Behold, I have given you an understanding heart and a wise one at that. And a wise one at that. And even then, because you asked for this, I have given you riches. I have given you the He was a king.
Think about it. Start to think about it with that perspective.
So there's times in life, I promise you that we have something in front of us, but we failed to see it. And failing to see it will always cause us to fail to fail to work with it. You will never be able to work with what you don't accept or you don't um see that you have. You will never be able to work with it. Does that make sense? Pastor said this a couple months ago. You're called to steward what you have, not what you don't have. Right? You're called to steward what's in front of you. So if it worries you, if it if it brings you stress to worry about a month from now, you don't even have that month just yet.
Think of today. Think of this hour. If it bothers you, if it makes you shake to think about next year, you haven't been given next year. You've been given this year. So steward this year correctly.
Steward the rest of this year. This is what God has given you to steward. He's not expecting you to try to steward 10 years from now. He's expecting you to steward this right here and let him guide your steps and let him teach you the things that you need to learn along this journey so that when you get there, you're like, "Ah, that's why I went through this. That's why I went through that. Lord, man, I thought I wasn't going to make it for a second there, but I'm here right now." Right? Good Lord, I'm I'm How in the world did I miss this? Right? But if we're see there's so many reasons why we don't work with what we have and one of the main ones especially nowadays is because we're too busy looking at what everyone else has.
>> That's the world we live in. I I spoke about this this past Sunday, how we we social media, good Lord, if you have it, use it as a platform to praise Jesus.
All right? Nothing against you. Nothing at all. It's all right. You're good.
Don't hate me.
Okay, pastor has talked about this before in a way. What you what we see on social media is everybody's best. Amen.
You can't tell me no. When you post five, six, seven, eight pictures, you don't keep the one with one like.
You going to keep the one with about 20, 30, 40, 50. Oh, this one got 50. I'm about to keep this one on here because if I keep that one, it's going to make me look a little bad, right? And and you you you you post your best, right?
That's why when you take a picture, selfie or a picture of somebody, you don't just post it. You say, "Let me see it real quick just in case." Right? It's not the best I got. Yes or no? We We post our best. So now what you see in your house and your personal life is your worst.
Start comparing it to somebody's best.
And you're over here thinking, "Wow, their marriage is great. They never fight at all." And they fought to try to take the picture.
Their kids are amazing. Look at them smiling all goo. They were grabbing each other's hair, pulling at each other right before Mama was yelling at him right before the picture.
>> But you see the best.
>> And now all of a sudden we try to start to steward that and be that over there. And now because whatever is in front of us, the marriage that's in front of us, the kids that are in front of us, the business that's in front of us, the ministry that's in front of us, whatever that might be in your own life, that now we're not even stewarding this anymore the way the Lord called us to.
>> We're just sitting there looking at everybody else.
And we tend to look down upon what exactly the Lord placed in front of us.
Even the comparing game starts to affect us. Well, how come he got five talents?
I got two.
forgetting that at one point maybe he might have started with one. You just met him when he got 10. He had 10 when you came to his journey, but at some point he did have two. He just worked it. He was faithful with it. And he kept moving forward, right? But we can fall into that comparing game and all of a sudden we're frozen.
And if only I had what this person had.
If only I had what that business had, what that family. If only I had this, if only I had that. And a lot of the times it's it's time that gets us time.
Pastor says this, it's not that you're doing the wrong thing, you're just not doing the right thing long enough. Thank you, pastor. What a word.
How do you what what's what is one way to test faithfulness when you say man he's faithful with time?
Yes or no? You see, man, this person here been 10 years been going at it 15 years. Man, he's faithful. He's faithful. And sometimes we can get stuck in wanting five now instead of working with this one.
And so we're working it. We're working it. We're working it. And we don't see a change. And we're working it and we don't see a change. We start getting frustrated because we see everybody else advance. Well, they're they're what about and all of a sudden all of a sudden we're like, "No, no, no, no, no.
This can't be happening. Lord, I want you to open that door over there." And the Lord said, "No, no, no. I want you to work with this one. No, no, no. I want that door over there. No, I want this one. A year goes by, but I want that door, Lord. I'm not moving to And all of a sudden, two years go by, three years go by, four years go by, and you still have not stewarded what's right in front of you, and you start to get frustrated. You start to say, "Man, God, you're a hard man."
Go with me to the talents again in Matthew 25.
19- 26.
The clock says I got three minutes.
That's a lie. Pastor goes to 8:15.
No.
Matthew 25 19- 26. I want I want you to look at something.
Look at the first four words.
After a long time, after a long time, I'm telling you, we tend to give up when God don't work on our time.
>> When we don't see things when we thought they should have happened, >> we do it. I've done it personally. Lord, I'm never gonna be that. Hang on. Just keep stewarding. Just keep stewarding, man. This ain't never going to get fixed. Just keep stewarding. Just keep stewarding. It's okay. It's okay.
But we do tend to we tend to get frustrated when God doesn't work on our time. Look at verses 21 and 23. Just I'm going skim through this. His Lord said unto him, "Well done, thou good and >> faithful."
>> 23 His Lord said unto him, "Well done, good and faithful."
Faithful, faithful time, faithfulness, it's measured. The other one got so tired of waiting that he ain't moved. He just said, "No, whatever. I'm forget this.
Lord, you're a hard man." And if you keep reading way down there, what is this servant that did do nothing with it? In verse 24, uh, then he which had received the one talent came, Lord, I knew thee that I knew, sorry, I knew thee that thou art and so now because he's frustrated, he's judging God.
But the Lord didn't leave him to steward or didn't leave them this talent and didn't give him this opportunity, didn't open this door so that he could now judge the Lord based on the opportunity.
No, he was given the opportunity so that he could know more about himself, not try to sit there and know more about him. See, we get into that though. We start judging him based off of what we're not doing, right?
>> Based off of what we're not sewing, right? I I spoke about this a little just this past Sunday. How we we tend to do this when we're sitting there sewing oranges and sewing oranges. Then we turn around and pray for apples.
No, you you you God is not mocked. That was what your man sew that he he shall reap. That that that is going to happen.
Whatever it is that you're sowing, you are going to reap it, my friend. You can't sit there and be sewing this and this and this and this and then pray for the complete opposite. That's not how it works. That is not how it works. So if you're doing nothing with that talent, if you're doing nothing and like in this case, your your your whole perspective is going to shift and then you think that you're called to judge God and call him a hard man because he didn't move on your time maybe.
Is this making sense? You guys following me? Am I going too fast? It's too late now, but I could go back, you know.
But the reward is faith. They're rewarded for being faithful. Good and faithful. So the other one wasn't good and faithful. He calls them slothful even. Amen. So the the opportunities will keep opening. The doors will keep opening. The opportunities will keep coming as long as we continue to be faithful with what we have. If you keep meditating on the story of stewardship of of talents, you can see so many things that will pop out at you. Well, maybe you put yourself put yourself in the coin's perspective.
Well, you're the one that wasn't used and how come I how come I'm not being used and how come I'm not this and how then all of a sudden you can learn something from there. But see, and and this is something I I didn't think I would get to. But as I was thinking about the story more and more, I was like, Lord, stewardship, what's in front of us, it's so delicate and it's such a responsibility.
One of the things I a phrase is that I absolutely love that I told somebody today that if you fail to prepare, anybody know it? you prepare to fail, right? Be a good steward, prepare, you know, if that's what it is, right? Just maybe think of that. But in this story, you know, and maybe I don't know what all of our situation is. For some of us, it's it's a business. For some of us, it's a our family. It's our kids.
It's our marriage. It's our distant family. I I don't know. I will tell you the answer is the same for all of us and that's Jesus. That's it.
But I don't know what it is. Right? And some of us might feel stuck with what's in front of us. Like Lord, what do I do?
What do I do with it? I've done what I feel like is everything that I can do.
And I believe that this is where sometimes we can learn from one of the other stewards in the story. So, one had five, one had two, and one had one. What about the one that had eight?
Think about it.
So, who had eight? In case you didn't get it, the master.
He gave one five. He gave one two and one. So, he had eight.
Think about it.
Who knows? There's a deeper obviously there's a deeper meaning to the story.
Read it in context. It's the principle that I want to get from this.
Maybe it is that you're stuck. And I don't know who this word might be for, but there's a word called delegate.
Delegate.
delegate that it is what this first steward had to do. That was part of his journey. He came and delegated his talents to three people. He said, "You get five. You am I doing my math right?" Yeah. Right. Five, two, one. That's eight, right?
Each one delegate.
And sometimes that right there in whatever opportunity it might be is what we need. What I call help.
Just simply help.
And sometimes that's where we are with our stewarding where we've done everything that we can with our marriage. We've done everything we can with our family. We've done everything we can with our business and nothing seems to be happening. And sometimes it's our pride that doesn't let us just simply say, "Help. Help.
This is what I have in front of me. I'm stuck with it. Help.
Sometimes we don't let go out of fear.
That they won't steward it like I would have.
That maybe the five won't make five.
Maybe the two won't make two. And we're scared that the one might fail.
that he might fail.
Is this making sense?
Sometimes it's that moment of just where maybe we're there. We're just stuck and we're like, "Lord, I keep reading your word. I keep worshiping you. I keep this. I keep that and and I'm going it and I'm going it and I'm going at it." And if that's you, man, keep going. And if the Lord wants you to say, "Help." I promise you, get your pride out the way. Get my pride out the way. Humble ourselves and simply say, "Help."
Sometimes it's as simple as trying to walk this life without Jesus.
And you're frustrated because once again, nothing seems to be working.
Nothing. and you simply need to hand it over to Jesus.
But when you delegate, delegate, give a problem to Jesus. And we're so good at making sure making sure he's doing it right.
Making sure he's taking care of what I just gave him, right? But no, it says that the master when he left, when he delegated, he left.
He ain't worried about it.
And I promise you, we have someone, Jesus, that whatever it is that we might be going through, whatever, all of us are going that we can sit here all night. I promise you, this person is doing worse than this one, and this one's doing wor I promise you it's all relative. I promise you, all of For all of us, it's the same answer.
Leave it to Jesus. Leave it to Jesus.
But it's cuz my kids, leave it to Jesus.
But it's cuz my marriage, give it to Jesus. But it's cuz my business, give it to Jesus. But it's cuz this, give it to him. I promise you. Just give it over to him. But it's cuz I can't even take my own life anymore. He wants that, too.
Give him your life. I promise you that's exactly what he wants is for you to give it to him. Give it to him.
I used to say it all the time. People say, "I can't even take my life any I don't I don't want this life anymore."
Good. Give it away.
Give it to the one that wants it. Give it to the one that can revive it. Give it to him.
You said, "Who would want this?" I promise you it's him. I promise you it's him. So, think what? It might be the thing that we're stewarding. Maybe it's none of those things. Maybe it's just our life.
Simple as. Maybe it's just our life, but we don't know what to do with it.
We seem to have more questions than answers.
No one can help.
Maybe it's just that simple. Just our life. It don't have to be complicated.
You have to have a business. You don't have to be married. You have to have kids. You have to just my life.
And I promise you, there's nothing wrong with you just turning around and saying, "Lord, I give it to you.
Thy will be done in my life. I don't know what it is. I don't know what you're going to do with it. I don't. But I'll surrender. But I'll submit.
Whatever that might be. I don't understand it. I don't I didn't think I would share this in just a couple minutes. I'll share it.
Pastor wanted me to share it. Um I was able to pastor lead pastor of a church for about three years.
During that time, the Lord asked me to bring my family to Wolgam.
What's so good about Wolgam?
A couple years ago took a whole year praying just somewhat in denial, you know, and being pastor of a small church has a lot on you.
I was the preacher, the pianist, the sound guy, the tech guy, uh everything in between.
And the Lord called my family and I here at first service. We sat right over there and I sat the whole time. And I remember my wife probably remembers who's here. I won't point at her cuz she told me not to. But it's okay. Is the Lord call us here?
This and that. Every Sunday evening, I was frustrated. I was frustrated.
Man, I'm just not used to just sitting there this and this and she'll tell you just wasn't. And years went by. And all I would hear is my pastor talking about something steward in front of you.
Steward in front of you. I guess, pastor. I guess.
And then a couple years later, here we are.
I didn't understand it. I was frustrated.
It hurt.
It's confusing.
Lord, is this the right thing? Is not this and that.
couple years later. Hey, you know, we've got this opportunity.
So, I'm I'm just here to tell you, man, if you would just let go, whatever that is, just put it in his hands and just don't worry about the five talents, 10 if you only have one. to steward that one with excellence, with the best of your ability, steward it.
Steward it.
Everything you do, do as unto the Lord and not as unto man. Everything.
Everything.
You don't do it as unto man because whatever reward man gives you, that's your reward. That's it. That's if you got an applause and that's what you were looking for, that's your reward and you got it. Don't be waiting on anything else.
That's word. So my encouragement to you, what if the Lord is calling you to do something?
I don't know. What if he's not? What if it's just your business? What if it's just, you know, one, I'm closing this up. I promise you.
Be careful that you're not praying for something that you already have in front of you.
the thing that you just asking God for that you know you need Lord if you just give me this house you can't take care of the one you got my grandma used to say if I'm not mistaken you asking God for 2000 you go crazy with $20 why the Lord give you 20,000 Lord you just give me another what' you do with the last one am I making sense So whatever it is that's in your heart, bow your heads. Whatever it is, only you know, only you know. Think about it.
Meditate on it.
Maybe you just need to steward it a little differently.
Maybe you haven't placed God first in your marriage, placed God first in your family, in your business, in your personal life. Maybe you've gotten used to making decisions without him.
Maybe you've just gotten used to going life without his word.
Daily verse will do.
I used to say, quit asking God for a fresh word. Just read the one that's in front of you.
He'll give you something out of it. I promise you. Just get in his word. I promise you it's in there. It's in there.
Speak to me, Lord. Speak to me. Speak to me. And you ain't open up your Bibles once.
Let's be good stewards of what we have in front of us.
And stop the comparing game.
We're called to steward what we have, not what we don't have. So, heavenly father, right now we're coming to you, Lord, just humbled, Lord, that you would even accept us and just full of gratitude, Lord.
That you give us beauty for ashes, Lord.
That we bring you death and you give us life.
Thank you, Jesus.
Even what's been given to us, Lord, we've done nothing to deserve it, nothing to earn it, Lord. It's been by your grace that we have what we have.
It's because of your grace that we are who we are.
Lord, I ask that all ears that were under the sound of this word, of your word, Lord, would receive it.
That it would bring revelation, Lord.
That it would bring clarity, Lord.
that it would bring wisdom, an understanding heart, Lord. I thank you because even in my personal life, Lord, I've seen you move in ways that I do not understand, Lord. And even now I don't understand but I do accept and I do submit to you Lord.
If there's anyone here, Lord, that might be confused, that might be at the point of giving up, Lord, that might be just see no just have no hope in whatever it is that's in front of them, Lord. That this word, that your word bring that hope, Lord, to whatever situation that they have, Lord, that might look dead at this point, Lord, but this is exactly what you do. You bring life, Lord. You bring life to that which is dead, Lord.
And in Jesus name we speak that Lord over our families, over our marriages, over our business, over this ministry, over our pastor, over all of us in this room, all of us in Boer, Lord, everyone under the sound of this ministry. Lord, I thank you so much, Lord, for life.
We're given one opportunity, God, at this life.
And if there's anyone listening in this room or not in this room and you've heard the word tonight and you said, "I'm done living without Jesus.
I need him. I want him.
Repeat this prayer after me. Heavenly Father, I've heard your word.
I thank you for it.
I recognize that I am a sinner.
That I need you.
I need your salvation.
I thank you for it and I receive it.
I thank you for the cross.
I thank you for your death and I thank you for the resurrection.
I believe Jesus Christ that you did all that for me and I receive it today in Jesus name.
Amen.
If this word blessed any of you, why don't you stand to your feet? Go ahead and stand to your feet. If any of you uh need prayer for anything or said that prayer for the first time, there are alter ministers up front on both campuses, uh just feel free to come and they're just they're waiting to pray with you. So, pastor and his family will be here Sunday morning. Excited to be with you guys again. Thank you guys so much for the time. I love y'all. We're dismissed.
