[00:00:00]So, for 2026, or 2025 Euro models, I think, Aprilia decided to do away with the conventional brake light, and use the turn signals as brake lights.

[00:00:20]I mean, I kind of get their motive behind it, track racing or whatever, but I mean, I don't know. Come on.

[00:00:30]Most of these bikes aren't on the track, let's be honest.

[00:00:33]So, originally, these things were out here, right? On this big fender. I had picked up this 3D printed unit from Etsy, because it was the only thing that was available when this bike first came out. You have to remember, I got this thing in June of 2025.

[00:00:53]So, it's one of the first I'm going to say it's one of the first 10 to come to the US.

[00:01:00]Unfortunately, this was my only option.

[00:01:02]It's not very pretty.

[00:01:05]However, I have a New Rage Cycles unit that will get rid of these things and have its own tail light and turn signals. So, that's what I want to do today. Taking a little bit of a break from the Harley stuff, but this is the New Rage Cycles unit. I I'm pretty familiar with these. I have them on let's see, pretty much everything else, except for the Harleys.

[00:01:34]So, there's your turn signal kit, which ends up somewhere like that, and it's going to be your brake lights, also.

[00:01:43]Here's your license plate light, I'm guessing.

[00:01:46]License plate mount, and wiring harness and hardware.

[00:01:53]So, the first thing I'm going to do is take this Etsy piece off.

[00:02:01]Um I don't remember what it cost, but if anyone, for whatever reason, wants one, >> [snorts] >> let me know, because I'm not going to have any use for it.

[00:02:15]Uh I don't intend to reuse it in any way.

[00:02:20]The upside, I think it's a pretty straightforward installation.

[00:02:26]So, >> [snorts] >> that's good.

[00:02:29]Anyway, let me get this off first, and then I'll start the figuring out how the New Rage Cycles unit goes on. If I remember this correctly, the uh the main bolts that hold it in, it's a bolt and a nut, which is kind of annoying.

[00:02:49]You'd think uh they'd figure out like how to use a nut cert or something, but they didn't.

[00:02:58]So, that's step one, and this was I'm pretty sure this was removing the factory setup, too.

[00:03:10]Uh it was the same nut and bolt setup, so remove the seat, and then remove the uh well, not remove, but get the fuse blocks out of the way, so you can get to where the nut is.

[00:03:26]Now, there is a little shelf, so these nuts aren't going anywhere once you you let them go.

[00:03:37]So, I just [snorts] kind of leave them, figure it out from there.

[00:03:41]So, yeah, scratch what I said about uh if anyone needs this thing, cuz I couldn't get this bolt out, and I know I'm not using this thing, and I didn't care. So, I snapped it.

[00:03:56]In theory, you shouldn't have to do that, but I'm just saying.

[00:04:03]Once I get this thing unplugged and out of the way, we can start putting the New Rage Cycles unit in.

[00:04:14]Uh why did they make things Hold on. Actually, it's not as difficult as it looks. Just take it easy, and try not to break anything else.

[00:04:33]So, the NRC unit comes in pieces, but I think it's pretty straightforward.

[00:04:41]Uh this will get mounted, and these wires, I'll run them up.

[00:04:46]So, here's your brake turn, and that I think is your license plate light.

[00:04:52]So, I'll figure this out.

[00:05:02]Run these things up, and get this thing in place.

[00:05:07]I think this is going to have such a a better look.

[00:05:13]I mean, I have to think it's I mean, relatively visible.

[00:05:20]We'll see. I have no complaints on my other stuff from them, so.

[00:05:24]Okay, something I just realized, there's a replacement harness.

[00:05:30]I must have tucked this in, cuz the original harness went way out there.

[00:05:35]Um so, yeah, there is a uh I guess a replacement intermediate harness, you might want to call it, that then plugs in to your brake lights and your license plate light.

[00:05:54]Which, I don't know if it's marked, so I have a simple solution.

[00:06:02]I plug it in.

[00:06:04]I turn it on.

[00:06:06]And I see what it looks like.

[00:06:14]Nice and bright.

[00:06:16]Let's see, turn signals.

[00:06:20]And I I got it wrong. Okay.

[00:06:25]Uh so, I'll just switch these around with the proper tools.

[00:06:32]That's the the one upside to this is it's, you know, you make a mistake, relatively easy uh correction.

[00:06:40]So, we'll just swap these around, and it should, in theory, work correctly.

[00:06:49]All right, now, with them in the right position, I think, here we are.

[00:06:57]Left turn signal.

[00:07:00]Left turn It's It's It's actually pretty bright. [music] I almost want to say it's brighter than the original stuff.

[00:07:06]The original stuff was just real doofy-looking.

[00:07:14]Now, let's see if we can't just >> [snorts] >> hit the brakes without falling over.

[00:07:29]That's the gist of it.

[00:07:31]There's a spacer that goes in between the rearmost bolt, which kind of spaces it down to line [music] up with the design of the plastic.

[00:07:44]I've got to get these two top ones in. I think it looks pretty good, though.

[00:07:49]You know what? It's cool, cuz it's not all the way all the way up against here, so you get some actual rearward uh vision [snorts] from these lights.

[00:07:59]Way way better than the Etsy piece and the factory piece. I think it gives you a little bit of reflection, too.

[00:08:10]License plate mount has to go well after wire, cuz not 100% I think this thing is set up.

[00:08:19]You see, it's got kind of this weird shape. I think it's set up so that you can put it on one of the license plate bolts. So, I'm going to play with it and try that.

[00:08:30]It definitely [snorts] doesn't go on the main bolt.

[00:08:33]So, I don't know.

[00:14:41]This is the finished install, which I think it's pretty slick.

[00:14:46]Whole lot better than the turn signals dangling out here God forbid way out here.

[00:14:54]So, we'll take a look at what they look like in the day. Um I mean, they're pretty bright considering.

[00:15:05]See if I can't do brakes and turn signals.

[00:15:14]They shut completely off for the turn signal, so that's nice to get your attention.

[00:15:24]And I noticed this at uh at night. I was playing with it yesterday.

[00:15:29]It actually uh you can kind of see it where it illuminates all this.

[00:15:34]At night it like glows. It's actually kind of cool.
