Astronomers have discovered HD 189733b, an exoplanet orbiting so close to its star that temperatures exceed 2,500°F, creating violent winds of over 5,000 mph that carry tiny particles of molten glass sideways across the atmosphere. This planet exemplifies how extreme stellar proximity can create hostile worlds with perpetual day and night sides, demonstrating that the universe produces planets far beyond Earth-like conditions.

Some planets turn weather into a nightmare of molten glass storms. #space #universe #exoplanetsAdded:
Astronomers discovered a planet where it literally rains molten glass sideways.
The planet is called HD 189733b.
At first, it looked beautiful.
A deep blue [music] world floating in space, almost like Earth. But that color is a trap. This planet orbits so close to its star that temperatures reach over 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds blast across the atmosphere at more than 5,000 miles per hour.
And inside those winds, tiny particles of melted glass. Scientists believe [music] the glass rain falls sideways because the storms are so violent.
Imagine hurricanes made of razor blades moving faster than fighter jets.
And it gets even stranger. [music] One side of the planet permanently faces its star while the other remains in endless darkness. A world split between eternal day and eternal night, which means the universe doesn't just create planets like Earth.
It creates worlds so extreme they sound scientifically impossible.
So if nature can build planets like this, what other nightmares are hiding across the galaxy?
