Honor in education is not about perfection or a flawless path, but rather the courage to persist through challenges, show up consistently even when no one is watching, and maintain integrity by returning to one's values and character. True honor involves self-motivation, discipline, and the resilience to rise again after setbacks, which prepares graduates to lead with character and make thoughtful decisions in their future careers and relationships.

Yes. Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
I'd like to ask everyone to remain stand alsible with liberty All the national anthem.
Yeah.
Heat.
I'd like to start the evening by introducing some very important people who are school and the people who work for us behind the scenes. So our special guests are our superintendent Dr. Karen Barber member school board member Scott board member Charles Elliot School board member Carol Wson, director of high schools, Brian Noak, and assistant superintendent in charge of curriculum administration, Mr. Michael.
Okay, graduates.
Our word to you tonight on the topic of honor.
What is honor?
The word honor can be used in multiple ways in your life. Some examples of honor are means high respect as honor means doing something to agree.
Tonight graduating class of 2020 said we are here to honor you and endure.
For many years there was a student who said from the outside their journey had been. There were moments when life felt overwhelming. A responsibility motivation was hard to find.
Sorry.
There were days when the students stared at the screen and wondered how teacher standing in the front of the room. No one watching closely, no applause or simple.
And day after day, that student chose to keep going. Not perfectly, not easily, but consistently.
They showed up reliab one person. It's about the entire center's online class. It is about the quiet strength that lives inside of each of you. And that is where we begin today with the powerful word honor. Because honor is not something you needed to do on your diploma. Honor is something that you built. You built it in those moments no one saw when you showed up even when it was hard. When you stayed focused even when distractions were everywhere.
When you believed in yourself even when doubt whispered louder. That is what makes Singer's online graduates extraordinary.
Your path required something different.
It required selfmotivation.
It required discipline and required courage and you did it. That is an honor. Honor is not perfection. It's not about having a flawless path. Honor is the courage to rise again like a phoenix. Every time life knocks you down.
It is the strength to say, "I'm not finished yet. I am capable of more and I will keep going." And graduates, you have already proven that you can do those things. So today is not the finish line for you. It's your starting line.
From here your life opens in front of you with possibility, challenges and opportunity. And the world you are stepping into needs exactly what you have developed at Santa Rosa online.
It's people who are self-driven, people who are resilient, people who understand that success is earned through effort, not just talent. But most of all, it needs people of honor. So as you step forward, I challenge you. Be the person who does the right thing even when it costs you something. Be the person who stands up, especially when it would be easier to stay silent. Be the person who keeps going when others may give up.
Because the future will not be shaped who simply succeed. It will be shaped by those who led with character. And that is you. There will be moments ahead when you doubt yourself. When things feel uncertain, the path might not be clear.
In those moments, remember who you are.
You are a graduate of Santa Rosa Online.
You are someone who already knows how to overcome. You are someone who already knows how to persevere. And you are someone who understands honor.
Carry that with you into every room you enter. carry it into your careers, your relationships, and your communities.
Because your greatest impact on this world will not come from what you achieve. It will come from how you live, how you be, and how you lift up others.
That is honor. Class of 2026, I am incredibly proud of you. It has been one of the greatest honors of my career to serve as your teacher and principal. and to celebrate this moment with you. Now go forward boldly, confidently and with purpose. The world is waiting and you are very ready.
Congratulations.
At this time, I'd like to ask our superintendent, Dr. Barber, to come forward with her charge to our senior class.
Oh, good afternoon. Good afternoon, seniors, friends, families, faculty, honored guests. It is a privilege to celebrate and honor the seniors with you. To the parents and guardians here today, thank you so much for giving us the honor and privilege to teach your students and be part of their educational journey. And to our graduating class of 2026, congratulations.
As you know, earning your high school diploma is no easy task. What you have accomplished is really remarkable. And I want you to know that we recognize your grit, your perseverance, your determination that it took to get to this moment. Through 13 years of learning, growing, overcoming challenges, and continuing to work forward, even on difficult days, you prepared yourself very well for the next chapter of your lives. Along the way, each of you has likely had an inspiration from someone. Family members, teachers, coaches, mentors, and friends. Especially during life's most challenging moments, the encouragement that we get from the example of others to rise above hardships and keep moving forward is necessary.
Recently, many people around the world followed the incredible journey of Artemis 2.
Four astronauts traveled 250,000 miles from the Earth, journeying around the far side of the moon and accomplishing what was once seemed to be the impossible.
And from where we stood on Earth, achievements like this can seem well overwhelming.
We may look at astronauts and think they're extraordinary people beyond our reach. But the truth is they're just ordinary people like us who chose to take great risks, work together, and dedicate themselves to a greater purpose than themselves.
A week after returning safely to Earth, the Artemis 2 crew participated in a in a NASA conference, reflecting on their mission. While most of us may never work for NASA or go and travel into deep space, the lessons they shared apply to everyone in this room. Commander Reed Wisman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Cook, and mission specialist Jeremy Hansen shared four lessons that I believe are especially importance for you graduates, but again, for everyone sitting here. First, give thanks.
Commander Wiseman spoke about the importance of gratitude. He thanked the millions of people around the world who supported the mission, the engineers and the teams who built the spacecraft, the international partners who made the mission possible, and even the media who helped unite people across the globe for this historic event. No one achieves greatness alone, right? Take time to thank the people who helped you get here today.
Second lesson, live with integrity. And Miss O'Brien talked about that.
Commander Wiseman said something powerful. Um, by the way, the spaceship was named the Integrity. He said, "Integrity is not simply something you have or you don't have. There are moments during the mission when each crew member struggled or lost focus, but when one person falters, the other helped pull them back."
Integrity is not perfection. It is choosing to keep returning to your values, your character, your purpose, and surrounding yourself with people who help you become your best self. Third, focus on we, not me. Jeremy Hansen reflected on how the crew succeeded because they focused on what they accomplished together, right, of instead of individual recognition. He described looking back at Earth from space and realizing how small we all are individually yet how powerful we can be when we work together. That perspective grounded them. So did their connection to family. During mission the mission they had conversations with their loved ones who reminded them of who they were and why their work mattered. So as you move forward into this next stage of life, remember this. Success is rarely a solo journey, stay connected to the people who support you, encourage you, and help you to grow. And finally, be thoughtful. Commander Wiseman described a phrase that they used during their mission. No fast hands. Even while traveling 250,000 miles from Earth, they understood that rushing decisions could create unnecessary mistakes. Instead, they paused, evaluated the situation carefully, listened to one another, and made thoughtful decisions together.
That also applies to our lives as well.
The important decisions you will make, your relationships, your goals, your character, your future should never be rushed. Take time to think carefully, seek wisdom, and move forward with purpose. So graduates, as you leave here today, remember these lessons. Give thanks, live with integrity, focus on the Wii, and be thoughtful. And no matter what mission lies ahead for you, never forget the people who stand behind you. Your family, your friends, your teachers, your community. With their support, you can do hard things. You can overcome obstacles and you can embrace your own greatness. So congratulations class of 2026. Your future is bright and we cannot wait to see where this journey takes you. So seniors, you have completed every requirement to earn your high school diploma. So by the power vested in me by the state of Florida, we now award you your high school diploma and all the rights and privileges thereof.
Before we begin awarding diplomas, we do have one special award for one of our students. Our counselor, Miss Nell, will actually present that award now.
Apologies, I read that wrong.
She's gonna talk.
I'm Sher Now and together with Rita Carroll, we have had the honor of serving as school counselors for Santa Rosa Online. It has been a joy to work with the remarkable group of seniors. We are thrilled to watch the amazing things that they will accomplish. Students, congratulations.
Reaching this milestone is a significant achievement. Being full-time virtual students takes real real self-discipline, perseverance, and flexibility.

As you begin this chapter, know that we will always be cheering you on and looking forward to seeing the great things that you will do.
