NVIDIA has strategically positioned itself as the foundational platform for quantum computing by developing NVQLink (quantum-classical interconnect), Ising (open-source quantum AI models), and CUDA-Q (unified programming framework), effectively building the 'operating system' for quantum machines rather than competing to build quantum hardware itself, following the same successful playbook they used to dominate the AI industry by providing the essential infrastructure layer that all AI companies depend on.

Jensen Huang Just Quietly Killed The AI TradeAdded:
Everyone thinks Jensen Huang is the AI king. The leather jacket, the trillion dollar GPU empire, the guy whose face is on every magazine cover from here to Singapore. But while the world watched his AI moves, Jensen quietly made the biggest strategic bet of his career. And it's not AI, it's quantum. And almost nobody is pricing it in. By the end of this video, you'll see exactly what he did, why it's brilliant, and what it means for the next 24 months of computing. Stay with me.
I'm not Julia. I'm her digital avatar built from her voice, her brain, her nine books, her 13 years of real life business building.
>> So, a month before my crash, not knowing at all what was on the horizon, I built a clone. While she's out doing the human work, serving First Movers clients, healing, actually living, I'm here every day because the new developments in AI don't stop and somebody has to bring you the signal in the noise.
So, here's the deal. You get the cutting edge AI and tech news broken down by the actual founder of First Movers. No hot takes, no hype. the business application that the new cycle missed.
I lead you into the future in two ways.
AI Labs is the school. A monthly subscription where you learn to build this for yourself. Marketing, automation, and cloning masterminds are our done for you services where I build it for you. Go to first movers.ai to learn more. Quick context. January 2025, Jensen Hong stood on a stage at CES and said useful quantum computers were 15 to 30 years away. Ion Q stock crashed 39% in a single day. Regetti dropped 45%.
The whole quantum sector lost billions in market cap on one off-hand comment.
Then something interesting happened. By June 2025 at GTC Paris, Jensen walked it back. said >> quantum computing is reaching an inflection point.
>> Said we were within reach of solving real problems with hybrid systems. Less than a year after that, Nvidia wasn't just talking about quantum. They were shipping it. So what changed and what is Jensen actually building? Because if you only watch the headlines, you missed it.
Let me walk you through what Nvidia has shipped in the last 12 months. Because when you see the moves together, the picture is staggering. Move one. October 28th, 2025, GTC Washington DC, Nvidia announced NVQLink, a low latency physical interconnect that couples Nvidia GPUs directly to quantum processors. Microscond latency, real time error correction in the loop. This isn't a research paper. This is infrastructure, cables, drivers, the boring plumbing that decides who wins the next decade. 17 quantum hardware builders signed on at launch. Nine US national labs too. Brook Haven, Fermal Lab, Berkeley, Los Alamos, MIT Lincoln, Oak Ridge, Pacific Northwest, Sandia Jensen called NVQ Link the Rosetta Stone connecting quantum and classical supercomputers. That's not marketing puffery. That's a positioning statement.
Move to November 17th, 2025. The footprint went global in 30 days. More than a dozen international supercomputing centers joined NVQ Link.
Japan's Reichen, Korea's Keyst, Singapore's National Quantum Computing Hub, Australia's PY, Italy's Cynica, Germany's JSC, the UK's NQCC, Saudi Arabia's COST. That's not a vendor announcement. That's a standard move three. April 14th, 2026, World Quantum Day. Nvidia launched Icing, the world's first family of open-source quantum AI models. 2.5 times faster decoding, three times more accurate than the standard approach. Apache 2.0 license, free to read, free to build on. Move four, the one nobody covered. Nvidia's CUDA Q framework now lets developers write quantum circuits alongside GPU code in the same program, standard C++ or Python. one application that executes across both QPU and GPU as peers in the same heterogeneous environment. If you can write CUDA, you can now write quantum. Add it up. Jensen isn't building a quantum computer. He's building the operating system for all of them. And here's the line from his own press release that should make every investor in the world sit up. Jensen called icing quote the operating system of quantum machines. Not a tool, not a model. The operating system, that word choice was not an accident. Here's the part most analysts are missing. This is the Nvidia playbook. It has worked before and it's about to work again.
Nvidia didn't win AI by building the best AI model. They didn't build GPT.
They didn't build Claude. They didn't build Gemini. They won by building the hardware and software layer that every AI model on Earth runs on. CUDA became the universal language. The GPU became the universal chip. Every AI company on the planet is now an Nvidia customer.
OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, XAI, all of them, they all write checks to Jensen. Now he's running the same play on Quantum. Beatforbe. Let inq, Regetti, D-Wave, IBM, Google, Microsoft fight over whose cubit architecture wins.
Doesn't matter to Nvidia because every single one of them needs Ising to handle error correction, CUDAQ to write programs, NVQLink to talk to classical systems, and Nvidia GPUs to run the classical half of every hybrid computation. Nvidia doesn't have to win the quantum race. They just have to sell the shovels. And right now, they're the only company on Earth selling them at this layer. That's the moat. That's the trillion dollar position. And almost nobody is talking about it because they're still arguing about whether chat GPT5 is better than Claude Opus. I'm not asking you to take my word for it. The market already showed you what this announcement means. When Nvidia launched Icing on April 14th, 2026, the entire quantum sector exploded. ion Q jumped 20.19% in a single day. Regetti climbed 11.50%.
D-Wave Quantum gained 15.84%.
Nvidia itself rose 3.73% closing at $196.38.
Smaller quantum names went vertical, too. XNDU up 29%. Seals Q up 21%. Read that breakdown carefully. The quantum startups got the headline pop. Nvidia, the company that actually built the operating system everyone now depends on, moved less than 4%. That's the asymmetry. The market still prices Nvidia as an AI company. Jensen has already moved on. He's pricing it as a computing company the same way he priced GPUs in 2014 before AI was even a category. The market hasn't caught up yet. Here's why this matters for anyone running a business right now and not in some vague the future is coming way in a real two-year out way. If you're a founder building anything that touches AI, your stack is about to get a quantum layer underneath it. Not in 15 years, not in 30. The infrastructure is shipping right now. The companies that quietly start learning hybrid computation now. The ones who treat April 14th as the start gun and not a press release are the ones who will be 18 months ahead when the first commercially useful quantum applications hit. The first movers in AI made fortunes between 2022 and 2025 by reading the room before the rest of the market did. The first movers in quantum are reading the same room right now.
Most of them are quiet. That's the tell.
You don't need to buy a quantum stock.
You need to understand the stack. The two are not the same thing. A quick word on the investing side because I know it's the first place people's brains go.
I'm not a financial adviser and this isn't financial advice, but here's what I'll say. The quantum startups got the immediate pop. They were the obvious trade. But they're also the high beta high-risk piece of the puzzle. Ionq posted a $510 million GAP net loss in 2025. Their adjusted EBIT D loss is projected to widen to between 310 and $330 million in 2026. These are real businesses with real revenue and they are also nowhere near profitable.
Nvidia, the one selling the shovels, is massively. Whether the market eventually rerates Nvidia as a quantum company the way it rerated them as an AI company in 2023, I don't know, but it's a question worth watching very, very closely. If you remember one thing from this video, remember this. The trillion dollar bets get made on shovels, not gold. Jensen learned that lesson once with GPUs and AI. He's running the play again on the next computing era while everyone is still arguing about chat bots. Is Jensen Hang the most underrated player in quantum right now or am I reading too much into it? Drop your take in the comments. I read all of them and the next video gets built around the sharpest one. See you down the next rabbit hole. Want to be the winner of the AI age and a first mover?
