ICE's Lawless Courthouse Arrests

[00:00:00]On Monday, Judge Castel issued this order putting a stay on any arrests here at 26 Federal Plaza. Unfortunately, yesterday ICE officers violated this order and arrested an individual here seeking asylum. Thankfully, he was released last night. I hope it's because ICE knows if you violate a court order, you are violating the Constitution. You are in serious jeopardy. The motion, the guidance that ICE has been relying on for the whole last year since May 27th, 2025 does not apply and never applied to immigration courthouses. These arrests have been illegal all year. But, we came down this morning to make sure and I'm happy to say that today at least, this morning, there were no ICE agents lurking in the hallways. There were no abductions at 26 Federal Plaza or 290 Broadway across the street. We're going to keep showing up. Thousands of people are part of this. I hope you'll join as well. This is a time to stand up for our immigrant neighbors and stand up for the rule of law.
