Can My Wife ID Reptiles?Added:
I do reptiles full time. And I do not.
Today, you guys, we're going to be quizzing my beautiful wife, Courtney Markham, on reptiles. We're going to show her 10 different pictures, and we're going to see if she can identify the species. And I've even got some bonus opportunities in there for her to get some extra points. I hope that she does really well. I think she's going to. How do you guys think she's going to do? Comment below.
Hopefully better than last time. Oh, we have actually done a video like this before, but it's been a long time. I've evolved, she's evolved, so we figured we'd revisit this. It was a fun video, too, so this one will be as well. So, first, number one, what species is this?
Oh, that's a tokay gecko.
Good job.
>> [applause] >> So, she got number one right immediately. It's a beautiful blueberry tokay gecko from our friend Jimmy at Gecko and Gecko. Jimmy was actually the first person in the United States to produce the blueberry tokay morph. So, super cool. We also did a really cool tour video with Jimmy, and I'll link that in the description below. Good job, sweetheart. We're off to a great start here. Hi, Jimmy. All right, you guys, number two is also going to be a video.
What is this species right here?
That's a green tree python. Good job.
All right, you guys, so this was a green tree python. This is a video that I took during my tour with Socrates of Ari Ellie Max arboreals. If you haven't seen that tour, it's absolutely amazing. I'll go ahead and link that tour in the description as well. But, Courtney's doing a wonderful job. If you're keeping track, she is now two for two.
Yeah, I did. Let's go. All right, you guys, so for number three, we actually have a picture. What species is that Oh, hold up, we have a bonus point on this one, too.
If she gets the species, it's one point, but if she gets the morph along with the locale, it's going to be a bonus point.
So, what is this right here?
Okay. Patternless. Patternless was the bonus point.
>> Highland.
Scrub python. That is a patternless highland scrub python, you guys. She's entirely correct, you guys. That was a patternless highland scrub python. Not only is that a patternless highland scrub python, but it's a US captive-bred male yearling that we actually have available right now. So, if you're interested, just get in contact with us for that animal. And we also have this long-term captive beast of a patternless highland scrub python male available, as well. So, yeah, just know that. But, you're doing a wonderful job. You're three for three, and she got a bonus point, so she's actually four for three.
So, if you're keeping score, she has a four out of three right now. Amazing score. You're doing very well.
>> much better than the last video.
>> She's doing exceptionally, and you've evolved, and you've seen a lot of different animals since then, so that doesn't surprise me too [music] much.
All right, you guys, so for this next one, we have a video. This one's not a snake, so this should be really interesting to see if she knows this one, because, as you know, we primarily deal with snakes. This one's not a snake. Let's see if she can get this one. What is this?
>> [laughter] >> You know better.
I don't.
Uh Take your time, cuz I think you know this.
I'm going to just shoot it out. Is it a crocodile monitor? Yeah, it's a crocodile monitor.
>> [applause] >> This is not only a crocodile monitor, this video is from our buddy Ben at Ruthless Reptile. Ben is an awesome guy.
He's hilarious, and he did an awesome tour for us, as well. So, definitely check that out. We'll link that in the description, also. Five out of four.
You're doing absolutely amazing.
>> finna play with me, but it's okay. She still thinks that, and she's gotten every single one right so far. I didn't set you up for failure here, and you know your animals, too. So, the next one, you guys, we're back to a snake, and we're on a snake with some beautiful iridescence for this one. What is this?
You know I like those.
That's a um Brazilian rainbow boa.
It is a Brazilian rainbow boa. Good job.
And that one is from our friends Robbie and Kennedy at Boa Haven. Thank you guys so much for these pictures right here.
Absolutely beautiful snakes. Definitely go ahead and check them out. Everyone whose pictures we used in this video, by the way, we're linking them in the description below, so shout out to everyone that helped us with this quiz.
You're doing a really good job. Six out of five right now, so more than 100%, and we're halfway through. How do you feel?
Terrified, but I feel like >> [snorts] >> you picked the easy ones first, and now you're about to That's exactly what I'm doing, so I did all the easy ones, and now I'm doing all species that she has no idea about. That was exactly my plan. You got it. I know you will.
>> You got it, yep. All right, so this next one, you guys, also not a snake, and we're going to see if she can get this one right here. And extra points if she CAN [music] SPELL IT.
>> [laughter] >> I HAVE THE POINT NOW. AND she only has to spell the first part. So, what is this animal?
Okay, that's a Gila monster.
>> It's a Gila monster. Spell Gila.
Cuz no. No.
>> How do you spell Gila?
>> [laughter] >> Comment if this bonus question was fair.
How do you spell Gila?
>> You said identify, not spell. Is that a bonus point?
>> It's a bonus point. You got the initial point. You can have the point. I don't want it. It's just not my test, okay?
You're the one that needs the bonus point.
>> question.
You You don't even want to give it a shot to spell Gila? Cuz you know it. I know you know it.
Do you?
>> Yeah. You're that confident?
>> It's a four-letter word.
>> [laughter] >> Can you try to spell Gila? I know you told me. I did. That's why I was thinking you might know. Yes.
H I >> Yeah. L A You got it.
You can have your hand out here. That shouldn't have been No, that shouldn't have been in the test.
Let's go.
All right, you guys, so now, if you're keeping track, she is eight for six. So, she's acing this test, getting all the bonus questions right, and she's still somehow angry with me, and I'm not sure why. But, that's just how she operates.
You're doing a great job, sweetheart.
Mhm. I love you. Whatever.
>> All right, so the next one, number seven here, this is a really good one, you guys. Let's see if she can guess this snake right here.
I struggled so hard all my life. You should know from the pattern. I had to fight. You had to fight your whole life Mhm.
for this question.
Mhm.
All right.
The pattern.
You should know from the pattern.
You have so much confidence in my mind.
It's crazy.
>> I have intense confidence in you, and you're doing great to prove me right.
Mhm.
Would you like another picture of this animal? No. Yes.
Almost the same as the one before.
>> THAT IS NOT >> [laughter] >> A A GOOD This is a good enough picture to identify this animal, though.
But, the pictures were close to each other.
It's just in another position. Same snake. It is the same snake.
Mhm. Which, by the way, the snake on this one was provided [music] by our Australian friend Brooke from This is not about Brooke's nails, but but they do look great. They do.
Okay.
Um I want to say the A word, but I'm not.
>> [laughter] >> I'm going to say it can't be anything else but a diamond Yeah, it's a diamond python.
I should have let you finish that, but I think >> Python. Yeah, I think you knew it She knew it was a diamond python.
>> No.
I want to say the A word, but I'm not going to say it.
>> She wanted to call me the A word.
No, I didn't.
She knew it was a diamond python. I shouldn't have cut her off before she said python, but you got that one right, okay? So, you're breezing through this quiz right now. You're nine for seven.
There's only three questions left. Which means it's time >> to turn it up a notch. [music] All right, this next one, I have multiple pictures of. If you need to see more than one picture, just let me know.
What is this snake?
Oh, the cute face snake.
It's not its technical name, or even its common name, but it does have a cute face.
I want to pronounce this right. It's got a cute little face. It does. Would you like to see more pictures? One more. One more picture.
Oh. Woma's python. It's a woma python.
Absolutely.
10 out of eight.
>> She's killing this quiz, you guys. She is absolutely killing this quiz. They have adorable faces. This one is a very high orange example, and it's a picture that we got from our buddy Lucas Lee at Centurion Exotics. Thank you, Lucas, so much for letting me use that picture for this quiz that she's not at all mad at me about. Cuz I'm smart. You are smart.
I agree with you.
>> of my brains.
You absolutely are amazing. All right, you guys. We're on to number nine. We're almost done. This one's a snake. It's a video and it's a video that I took as well. So, let's see if Courtney can get this one right. What is this snake right here?
>> [laughter] >> Who knows?
Um Take your time.
You got Do you know Do you have a hint? Yeah, it's a word that you wanted to call me earlier.
Oh, the A word. Mhm.
That was a better hint than you guys know.
Yeah.
Um Angolan python.
It's an Angolan python. Absolutely is.
Clock that T.
Let's go. Good job.
>> [laughter] >> It's an Angolan python. It's a video that I shot of an Angolan python at my buddy Will Philpott had at the All American Reptile and Plant Expo, which I made an amazing video of that I've linked in the description below.
Courtney's killing it. She's 11 for nine. Even if she gets this last question wrong, she will have over 100%.
So, good job. I know it's not over yet, but good job. And that's why Don't I I saved the hardest question on the planet for last.
All right, you guys. Let's go to number 10. And this one is going to be a video and it's also a video that I recorded.
So, I will be absolutely disgusted with Courtney if she gets this wrong. Let's see if she knows this animal.
>> [laughter] >> Let's see if she knows this animal right here.
You know what? I I want to say I want to say the I B I She wants me to call me Now she wants to call me the B I word.
I struggle with this so bad because the colors.
And then the eyes.
I struggle with this one.
>> You got this. You know this. You keep saying that.
>> [snorts] [laughter] >> I do want to say B I.
But you want that you want you Do I have any [music] guesses?
One.
>> [laughter] >> I did too many things before I did this, so I'm struggling.
Oh.
You got this.
Ah, okay. I feel like I make this mistake often, so I got to kind of learn from it. Did we see this snake in Lake Anna? No, Lawrenceville.
Coming down the hill in a different color.
Okay, so yes. Yes to your answer because I know that that's the best way to communicate it to you, but what we saw is a different species, but it does have part of the name of this in its name.
Okay.
>> Yes. Do the beginning of its name is B.
Yes.
>> Baron's [music] racer. Yeah. It's a Baron's racer. So, she was talking about a snake that we saw while herping that was actually a black racer. So, it's completely different species and stuff, but Baron's racers are a beautiful arboreal snake from South America, but the video I showed to her was a captive bred super blue patternless Baron's racer from Palm Beach Culubrids, which is a wonderful tour that I just shot.
I've linked it in the description, but you got 12 out of 10, so she got 120% >> want to activate >> on this quiz right now.
I want my prize.
>> [laughter] >> I don't want to die.
Yeah.
She did a great job, okay?
>> Give me my She did an absolutely I You did absolutely wonderful. And I'm not at all disgusted with her because she did a great job. Don't nobody CARE IF YOU >> [laughter] >> SHE DID A REALLY great job. You did really good. I'm very proud of you. I hope they >> And I I had every expectation that she would do an amazing job. Courtney absolutely aced this, you guys. Let's give her a big ROUND OF APPLAUSE.
MAYBE TOO BIG OF A ROUND OF APPLAUSE. We did that. We did that. You did a great job. You did that. Death pool.
>> absolutely wonderful. Give her some love in the comments, you guys. That was amazing. She did amazing. And good job.
Really good job. Where did you learn all this stuff?
Listening to you ramble. Aw, that was so sweet. But really though, listening to you ramble and watching the videos.
Thank you so much. That was >> something wrong, you know, later on >> Then that's my fault, too. They'll be consequences. Oh, wow.
>> just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Wow. Should my call me the A or the B I word later.
But um >> [laughter] >> No, she's not at all abusive of me and she's a wonderful woman. So, I hope you guys enjoyed this video. It was great to have my wife Courtney on. Thank you for doing this video with me.
>> Above all, you guys, be happy, have a great day, and continue to spread the love of reptiles.
