Holmgren’s analysis masterfully bridges the gap between professional music theory and popular media, proving that video game scores are worthy of serious academic scrutiny. His technical breakdown of modal shifts and cultural fusion offers a rare, high-level perspective that enriches the listener's experience.

Genshin Impact OST Listening Event & Composer Reaction (pt 2)本站添加:
Hello, hello. Hi and welcome to this second Genshin Impact reaction live stream.
How are you doing tonight?
It's been some insane days here since we posted the previous since we did our last reaction.
Yes, we are live.
Good to see you all. It's been really wild since the last live stream. I'm so happy for all the engagement. We are like 34k views already on on the on the video and I think it's like 2.5k likes.
And yeah, I've been trying to respond to all your comments and thank you so much for engaging on on the video. So, today, what's the goal? The goal is to continue our listening streak here of Genshin Impact and uh yeah, either lasers, Minoco, D Sang, Itkim, Malachi, Douglas, French Guy, Rob Wind, Caitlin, something I can't spell, F5 video.
Yeah.
Yeah, so the goal is to continue the listening from last time.
And uh we have some special things we're going to listen to. In tradition, we are beginning the live stream here listening to one of my own tracks. This is Ikarian.
And uh if you look around on my videos, you can find the links to my music, which is uh on the streaming platforms, but also on Bandcamp. Matthias Holmgren.bandcamp.com.
Yes, we're going to continue listening to some of the weekly bosses, but first uh a little recap of what we did in the previous previous stream. So, we began the last stream listening to or watching and listening to the trailer of Genshin Impact.
And uh my conclusion was that it looks quite similar to Breath of the Wild.
It's like a mixture of Breath of the Wild with some Pokémon and the Twilight Princess influences.
And some of you guys posted some videos and also a lot of images on our Discord.
By the way, check out our Discord channel. There's a link in the description. And also make sure to smash the like while we're at while we're at it.
So, we can get the engagement going here on on the video.
So, we watched the trailer and then we had a listen to the different region themes.
The different region themes of um Genshin Impact.
And uh apparently the Mondstadt was the main music. So, we're going to take a listen to the main theme today.
Because I guess we missed listening to the actual main theme in the previous stream. And then we also had a listen to some of the weekly bosses themes. But yeah, I do understand there's a million of tracks to this soundtrack, so we're probably going to do a little bit of a series here, so make sure you subscribe to the channel.
Yeah, good to have you aboard, guys.
Itkim, will you listen to the dusk version?
The dusk version of the main theme.
Yeah, we'll see about that. We'll see what happens.
Yeah, so this is my good old family piano in the background here and I have a little story around around the piano.
Because the other day I was recording and practicing in the Dark Souls 3 main theme and some other theme for uh my upcoming piano concert. I'm going to do a piano concert here on on this uh on this channel and I'm going to play through like a mashup of different themes from my favorite games. So, there's going to be Xenoblade Chronicles, there's going to be uh Horizon Zero Dawn, there's going to be Skyrim. There's probably going to be Genshin Impact also baked in there.
So, uh yeah, I was practicing on the piano here to record a little clip for my patrons.
Join in on my Patreon, patreon.com/gelhein.
And uh while I was playing the Dark Souls 3 main theme, one of the keys on the piano, there's like a plastic overlay on the keys. It's a really >> [music] >> It's not the best piano, but it's my good old family piano, which I learned playing piano, so I need to keep it. But the plastic loosened on one of the keys and it like fell off the piano and I had to glue it back, so >> [music] >> [ __ ] happens with old pianos, I guess. I think it's been in the sun for too long, so it's like dried up or something.
My favorite Genshin theme so far, it's really hard to tell. I mean, I was totally totally blown away from the last live stream of of the quality, overall quality. Because there's often when you listen to soundtracks and it happens in like every stream I do, there's like always at least some kind of ups and downs when it when it comes to the theme qualities.
By the way, this is another track of mine called Dark Forest Glade.
It's darker.
But I didn't actually find like any dip in the quality of the themes to Genshin Impact and that's that's wild. That's totally wild.
It's a gacha game. Protect your wallet.
The story's been ongoing for 6 years.
It's a huge huge world to explore.
I bet. Yeah, with all the themes and >> [laughter] >> keep adding tracks.
Yeah.
Nice. Sain46, hello Matthias, hello chat. I just got to your channel yesterday and really like your content.
Sweet. Thank you for joining in. Right, so we're going to get going and I prepared a little bit here beforehand what we should listen to today.
So, we're going to begin actually listening to Mondstadt main theme from the Genshin concert.
So, I'm going to pop up. Whoop.
The screen.
Like so.
And we're going to give it a go. Let's move it a little bit up like this.
So, now the I guess the orchestra is like tuning.
Yeah, looks like that.
Yeah.
Silence. Yes, so that was the tuning tuning session in the beginning.
So, they're all in tune in orchestra.
Oh.
COVID greeting.
>> [music] [music] >> I love all the embellishments. It's so like alive. Like I said in the previous stream, it's so lively.
Wonderful orchestration. Trading the melody between instruments like that.
Counterpoint.
>> [music] >> It's definitely filled with heart.
Heart and warmth.
Like the warm hug we talked about in the previous stream.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah, like I said, it's a very very lively arrangement and you can't do anything but like smile when you hear this kind of music. It's so uplifting and so positive and Yeah, so lovely. And we're going to talk about I did talk about the like moving the G to the A major or it's it's actually like a G legion to A major which was in the in the trailer music. And we're going to talk about that a little bit more here later on.
But that's a very common thing you do in the film scoring to to get a very like a brightening of the sound when you move from one key to a uh two semitones up or whole step up.
You can hear it all over the place from like John Williams.
>> [music] >> It's really cool with the small fill.
>> [music] >> Or piccolo flute.
>> [music] >> Yeah, [laughter] I heard a lot of modulations in in the previous live stream.
But all the embellishments, it makes it so alive.
Gustav Holst.
>> [music] >> You always You always know that you're in for an adventure and a ride when you hear a melody trading between different instruments because that's at least to me that makes for a more adventurous experience and for a more intricate and more joyful experience in in the music when you have the melody trading and not just playing on the same.
Of course there's time for solos, too, but it's a little bit more lovely when you have the solos trading between instruments. What do you think? Let me know here in in the chat.
Or the comments if you're watching this as a vod.
And support the channel.
Thank you so much.
>> [music] >> You know your film scoring roots.
Hollywood roots.
>> [music] [music] >> Bam bam ba ba bam.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Thanks for the sub.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Is that the end?
The end. It's a tight orchestra.
Uh he's getting ready for for another round. Round two, fight.
Yeah, what a lovely lovely arrangement and all the embellishments. I'm just I'm in love with that theme and it's as you said all of you a lot of people have mentioned that in the in the comments and also during the last live stream. You should look at orchestral but uh you always have it takes a little bit time you guys to prepare for a live stream especially if it was the it was the first time for me engaging with the Genshin Impact uh find music in the live stream but a little bit better prepared this time.
I hope.
Right, here this time.
So we are a little bit more people in here today.
217 people. Nice. Make sure you smash the like everybody so we can get the engagement going here. And post your favorite emojis in in the chat.
I think the lasers has already begun here.
Let's post something.
I'm from Sweden.
Thus my Swenglish.
And I'm proud of it.
Right, so next up we're going to continue listen to Mondstadt. Mondstadt.
While we're at Mondstadt, why not continue the Mondstadt and listening to the Genshin Impact main theme.
Because in the last stream as we talked about it in just a few minutes here ago.
I played the region themes and apparently it was the menu theme.
But I'm I'm in who am I to tell?
Who am I to tell?
I'll take your real sombrero if you subscribe during the stream.
That's how we roll.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah, so I talked about that moving the the G to the A major in the last stream and we had some comments there regarding that and you can think of it like a normal change of key like a key modulation because I don't feel it's uh like a modal interchange when you like borrow chords from alternative scales. It's rather a key change and then a key change to the C to make it more exciting.
And then up to the C.
>> [music] >> And there's always the sus4 if you're into music theory. The sus4 to the to the major resolution.
Which is a really beautiful thing.
Just for for those of you who's who's more interested into music theory and stuff. And by the way, if you want to learn to listen into music like I do here in the live streams while I listen to the music and I might be able to play the themes. It's all about uh ear training. And I do have an a little application on my website edu.morningdewmedia.com.
There's a link to my website here in the description.
Where you can actually train ear training. And I also have two two videos on that page that can prepare you a little bit for how to train and how to evolve your ear training.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah. So let's get going here. Sorry.
[clears throat] Genshin Impact main theme for you.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Oh yes.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah, so that's uh the key changes I was talking about.
So, you're going from a C to a D major, C major to D major.
And res- resolving to a uh E sus4 to E E major.
And the second time it goes to an F to the G major and resolving into >> [music] >> the A sus4 to A.
>> [music] >> Yeah, we're going to take a listen to the night version, too.
It's just the track after.
The beautiful ending.
Yeah, it's we were it almost sounds very like it's mysterious in some way, but it's like a resolution when you have those uh go- going from a major chord and then jumping one semitone.
A whole tone up, so two semitones.
And also, it's a kind of it's a Lydian scale or a Lydian mode.
That's also like a brightening brightening of the Ionian scale or the major scale.
Uh a major scale if we're in in G, sounds like this.
It's all happy and fine, but then you raise the fourth note to make it Lydian, listen to the difference.
>> [music] >> And it's extremely common in film scores and also, yes, Genshin Impact.
So, that's um like the magic behind behind that.
You can hear James Horner, The Boy in the Striped Paja- Pajamas, and many other.
John [music] Williams also making use of that.
You can hear it in basically any film.
That type of Lydian and raising to raising the key. Key modulation.
Right, so that was the Genshin Impact main theme. And we're going to continue with the the dark version or the night version, Dream Area.
I hope this is the right song now.
Sorry if I'm totally wrong, but let me know in the chat.
>> [music] [singing] [music] [music] >> This sounds like it's something Enya would would make.
>> [music] [music] >> Beautiful. Dream Area, Genshin Impact.
Main main theme variation. So, that's the night theme, night theme. And it's indeed like a lullaby.
But I feel that is uh rather than being from from a G major chord to an A major chord, I think this was from Yeah, E major to F sharp major.
So, that's like the difference between these two.
So, it begins a little bit lower, a little bit darker.
>> [music] >> A beautiful.
Beautiful, beautiful.
Yeah, I'm going to play that for my my son Alex when it's time to time to sleep.
Very good evening evening song.
Ah, there we have it. I was looking for the chat.
Yeah, so we have a little poll going.
Make sure you hit that poll and also smash the like here below on the video if you enjoy these uh live streams and the reaction show I've got going here.
And if you want to support future streams, make sure to join in. There's a join button here below.
And that way you can also affect a little bit more deeply what's going to happen here on the on the show.
Ahoy, hello. What's next? The rest of the boss themes. Yeah, we are going to dig into more boss themes.
But first but first but first we have we have a song called Raiden Shogun character demo.
Let's go.
In the land of the Narukami, centuries passed [music] without change.
Deep in the heart of the city stands the lofty abode of the Raiden Shogun.
She looks down upon her [music] realm and mortal joys and woes and sees a world mired in impermanence.
By mighty lightning, she rules over the transients.
Trivial yearning [music] and petty passion, they vanish like a mist, but the Shogun pursues unfettered and unperturbed eternity. [music] Only through eternity are you [music] closest to the heavenly principles.
It's really cool. Like it. Suddenly, we have a trap beat going behind orchestral stuff in there.
The Japanese uh koto?
Gusheng koto?
>> [music] >> Lightning is eternal. The world is but shadow.
>> [music] [music] >> Fantasy can only survive with an underlying reality.
Reality is the stillness buried deep beneath [music] the illusion.
This is eternity.
Torn to oblivion.
>> [music] >> Okay, nice. Now we're in EDM land suddenly.
Drum and bass.
>> [music] >> Beautiful soaring melody.
Okay, so I have a question for you guys.
When when did this uh trailer drop and this character drop?
I did hear maybe it's unintentional or intentional or because I heard some I heard some influences from Arcane. I can't really put my finger on it now here instantly in in the live stream what uh theme I'm thinking of, but I did hear a little bit of Arcane influences in there. But what a cool theme. And I do understand that this is more cinematic since it's baked into this uh trailer. Cynthia, thanks for uh subscribing. I'm going to tickle your zombie here in the stream. That's what happens if you join during a live stream.
Hm.
Yasin, thanks for subscribing. Thank for joining.
Yeah, but that happens in in all type of music even if it's before Arcane.
Everybody is inspired by everybody and and every everybody everybody is inspired by the masters of the past. Like I mentioned earlier, John Williams and Gustav Holst. John Williams, he was totally inspired by Gustav Holst or he was forced to be inspired by Gustav Holst rather because in uh even in games and also in films, they often have something called the temp music or temporary music. If you're into film scoring and stuff, you all know you know all about this, but they usually have like temporary music when they're like storyboarding and they're making the pre-production of the of the So, they uh and for the Star Wars, guess what they had as temporary tracks? Gustav Holst, The Planets.
So, if you haven't checked out The Planets by Gustav Holst, make sure you do that because you're in for a ride.
Mars, Jupiter. It's like a different planets themes.
And it's very very inspired by uh Star Wars was very inspired by that soundtrack. And I think George Lucas loved that soundtrack and that's why they had it as temporary temporary score for the film.
That was That's what happens.
Yeah, we're going to continue watching the trailer.
Sorry, not sorry.
Waking world, you seem woven from the stuff of dreams.
All shall fade away.
Genshin Impact Shogun, Raiden Shogun.
Yeah, very cinematic. And lots lots of ostinatos and stuff.
The typical things that you add into trailers to to get excitement and propel the track forward.
Very cool theme.
Yes, we're going to continue with the boss themes because I feel we can't leave them untouched.
We have to touch them today.
Touch the boss themes.
So, in the previous stream, we had a listen The last track we listened to among the boss themes, I'm going to post I'll post the link here again in the chat if you want to check out the Where did the stream go?
Nice.
Hm hm hm, there you are.
I'll post the link here to the playlist that we're using for the bosses. Make sure you also join in on our Discord channel. There's a link in the description.
And by all means, come on guys, smash the like.
The goal here today is to reach 600 likes. Let's see if we can do that. Can you help us do that? Smash the like.
We have 232 likes at the moment. Woohoo!
Nice. Thank you guys. You're the best.
You're the best.
You're only sick of hearing the Palumbia Omnia.
Palumbia Omnia.
Yeah, the last track we listened to in the previous stream, that was the Saltatio Favonius.
So, now we're going to continue with the Bane of Ambitions.
Sorry.
>> [snorts] >> Not sorry.
Now, this is different.
>> [music] >> Raiden's boss theme.
I see you. I see you.
Nice.
Sweet.
>> [music] >> It's definitely different to the other boss themes we heard before. This is more like techy and with all these pulsing synths to drive and propel the track forward. Yeah, emoji fight. Post your favorite emojis.
Bang them out.
Definitely a totally different style, but that's all cool and I guess this is also like another totally different composer making this track. Am I right?
But yeah, I know there's a whole gang of different composers. I saw one posting a complete list of the different composers involved in Genshin Impact and it's like a whole roster.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, I hope that we have a bot here that's handling spamming. So, I hope it's going to handle if someone's spamming too much in in the chat.
Try to keep it at a medium level of spamming.
The Hoyo-Mix.
Yeah, very big team indeed.
It almost sounds like trailer music.
When you have all these techy stuff and synths.
Very interesting mix.
Wow.
>> [music] >> Wow.
Next up, we have Thunderings of the Merciless.
Yeah, [laughter] electro EDM.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Absolutely. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Yeah, half time.
Well, I love when this happens in tracks when they like reduce the timing to half time.
It's a It's a common thing in the like melodic dubstep and yeah, dubstep too.
So, maybe we could call this a little like a dubstep drop.
But I love the this this track, the mixture between the orchestral instruments and and the synths. It blends very well.
Sounds very exciting.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Check out the link.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah, half time again.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Cool break.
>> [music] >> Now, this this almost makes it makes it sound like half time.
Half time.
Double half time.
>> [music] >> We haven't got there. Woah, woah, woah, woah.
>> [music] >> HMX, hi there. Good to see you.
HMX free music shout out.
Thunder hunter, quarter time. Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, quarter quarter time. That's the best word for that one. Yeah, I think I liked this one more than the previous Bane of Ambitions.
Just uh quick thoughts here.
Just because of that little half time break there.
Again, yeah. I'm going to mention melodic dubstep because uh Yeah, I'm a I've I've a big um big listener to different genres, so I'm very open to different musical genres and have been basically listening to everything.
And that's also what you have to do like if you're writing music for a media, which I've been doing since 2004 uh for games and uh media projects, commercials, and everything. And then you have to be you have to be ver- versatile. You have to be a Swiss arm army knife because sometimes you have to write melodic dubstep. And sometimes you have to do those >> [music] >> tender things.
Sorry, let's continue.
Yes.
Oh, yes.
>> [music] [music] >> Another banger.
>> [music] [music] >> Congratulations.
18 years.
>> [music] >> I'm making pauses here exactly when uh It's making it sounding a little bit more proggy. But this is definitely like a prog rocker or prog metal part with the guitars and the punctuations and everything. I just love that. Yeah, big prog metal fan. Symphony X, Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation.
Just going to name drop a little bit.
Yes.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah, same here.
Love the guitar.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> I almost don't want to stop here, but I I just want to give my thoughts, of course, while listening to to the tracks here and it does uh This is a to- totally up my alley. I really love these type of tracks because it's it's like a home for me because I grew up listening to metal and playing in a lot of metal and I also released a lot of albums during the '90s and early 2000s in in the metal genre.
Moving frog, thanks for the donation.
Yeah, guys, you can throw in a super chat if you want to support the live stream here and make things move forward for for the channel.
But again, I'm so thankful for so thankful for for all the engagement and uh all the love on the previous Genshin Impact live stream we did. It's been totally amazing. 34K views in just like two three days and 2.5K likes. That's insane.
You guys are insane. It seems to be a really huge community around Genshin Impact. That's lovely. That's awesome.
Wow, 328 viewers. Come on, guys. And only three 278 likes. Come on, y'all.
Follow Glaciers here.
He's a member also on the channel here.
So, a big thanks and shout out to Glaciers.
>> [laughter] >> Might be an understatement, but uh yeah, if you follow my channel and if you're or if you're new on my channel here, make sure you go back and listen to my backlog of these uh uh reaction live streams. We usually do around 2 hours to 3 hours listening into a specific dedicated soundtrack.
Sometimes we do a series of two episodes or something sometimes we might do a longer series.
I think that's the case here with Genshin Impact.
We're probably going to do a longer series.
But there's a lot of uh cool themes and cool soundtracks. And we've done so many nice live streams. That's been amazing.
The night stream we did, I think we had 600 likes just during the live stream, so that was like totally insane.
But Genshin here is growing a lot faster than any of my previous live stream, so big thanks again.
Big thanks again.
>> [music] >> Thanks.
>> [music] >> Konnichiwa.
Arigato gozaimasu.
>> [music] >> Nice.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Thank you, F type 77.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah, it's a totally a stank face track this one with all the punctuations in in the guitars and the light stabs there in.
The light stabs in in strings.
You guys love it. What's your golden advice for an 18-year-old teenager?
The golden advice. My son's turning 18 this uh 25th of uh April.
So, I've got a son of my own that's turning 18. So, golden advice, take your driver's license and practice your >> [clears throat] >> practice your piano or guitar.
Even if it's my even if it might seem uh daunting here with or like discouraging with all the AI and stuff. Give a [ __ ] about the bloody AI that's going on.
Because we make music for ourselves. We make music for our hearts. We make music to feel good. It's all about the vibrations in the universe and resonating with music. That's why I'm doing this show, too. To uh spread love around uh music. Also to learn.
I have a lot of stuff to learn myself and uh it's sweet to be able to share the little I picked up during the years as a composer and performer and uh >> [sighs] >> Yeah.
So, that's the >> [laughter] >> the 18-year advice. Practice some piano or guitar or drums. I'm a drummer actually from from the beginning.
Piano {slash} drums.
But, I really didn't really like to be advised by uh I had an old lady as a piano teacher when I was like 10 years old and she wanted me to play all these classical pieces, but already then I wanted to play my own stuff. My own stuff.
Uh we're nostalgic here, so I'm going to play a little bit of uh Silk Song uh Coral Chambers for you.
Anyone playing Silk Song? Let me know here in the chat.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah. So, I I am practicing for an upcoming piano concert where I'm going to play a shitload of different themes from all kinds of games. In the last live stream I did play some Castlevania Vampire Killer and also I might have played some Silk Song also.
Xenoblade Chronicles, another great soundtrack.
I know, I'm getting carried away, but half of the point of doing these live streams is catching up with you guys and talking about life, talking about music and um yeah.
100% Silk Song. Yes, I also did that in the combo with my community, my lovely community here. With Kobarosu's Lasers, Swag E Dodge, Julia.
All these lovely community members on my channel that helped me reach 100% because I wouldn't have reached 100% by myself because I was not looking up anything on on YouTube or anything like that. I was just purely playing by myself and of course getting help from the community. But, that was really lovely.
So, I did all the bosses and everything just Yeah.
By myself.
You have ADHD. That's why.
You're not alone.
Yeah.
I'm uh I'm happy as long as people don't spam the the chat just the same kind of thing million times. That's just annoying.
>> [laughter] >> But, if you write sensitive sensible questions.
That's awesome. How should sing?
You love music. You watch all gaming music related videos and streams. Ah, that's awesome. Thank you so much.
Thank you.
I appreciate a million.
Yeah, I've been working with this channel for quite some time and I've been trying this and that and I did a lot of like music production and totally deep and heavy music tech videos and stuff on music gear and like really deep music theory and stuff. And then I'm I understand that people want that, too, but uh in the end I understand that YouTube is all about entertainment. It's all about having fun, having a laugh and so if you want to check out my music courses, there's always edu.manudu.media.com.
The links in the description and it's probably going to pop up here in the chat, too. So, I have a like a music theory course if you want to learn more music theory and like analyzing music like I do here on on the channel.
And um we also have cinematic music course, which is more towards cinematic ostinatos, arpeggios and that type of writing for films and stuff.
And if you sign up at my education platform edu.manudu.media.com, you also get a free film scoring for beginners course.
Which I think is going to be awesome for anyone interested in film music. Not even I mean you don't even have to be a I'm going to post the link here in in the chat so you can check that out.
There you have the link. You can sign up there. It's free to sign up.
And you get access to the film scoring for beginners course.
Where I also look at like how to compose a little bit for games and also for Kickstarter trailer. So, how to do like game trailer music.
274 people in here. Awesome. Thank you guys. 324 likes on the stream.
That's awesome.
Yeah, I hope this one can beat the previous.
Let's see how that goes.
Yes, we're going to continue with the the boss themes.
Wherever I put the link.
There we have it.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Thanks for helping out, Lasers.
Right, so next up we have Rhapsody uh Rosetta. Really cool names here for the tracks.
Damn, this looks like a Voltron.
Mech Warriors.
Look at that.
Some Voltron stuff like right there.
Thundercats.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> That's some really interesting rhythmical stuff.
Like that pulse against the the harmony.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> How cool is that? How cool is that?
What a weird weird voice effect. The really cool stuff. Anyone heard of the band Cynic?
They use vocoder on a lot of It's like progressive metal from back in the old days.
Sarah, thanks for the sub. I'm going to tickle your zombie if that's okay. Can pat him on the head.
Okay, so that's the composer. Really cool.
Love that.
So, it's interesting when we hear when you hear different like vocal effects.
Badabum.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Okay.
>> [music] [laughter] >> Yeah, and I can hear some like death metal growlings in the in the background there. Yeah, really in the like background of the more forward vocals. Just take a listen again there.
Ah, what a lovely mixture.
Can I rewind?
There.
Sorry.
>> [music] >> Nice.
What a cool theme. Polonia Omnia.
>> [music] >> That's the next one.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Thanks for the sub.
>> [music] [music] >> All these boss themes, they are very exciting and and dramatic and it's really cool to hear like the the distance here between the different like the contrast between the the forward voice here and um that like trap beat in in the background and the music. It's very exciting.
>> [music] >> Thanks.
>> [music] [music] >> It's very like theatrical.
This.
I see you.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Nice.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Ta-da-da-da-da.
Yeah, all those ta-da-da-da-da-da-da.
The call and response stuff that happens all the time in in these soundtracks. That's chef's kiss always.
Yeah, I'm going to leave it the VOD, the video on demand, the live streams. They're always left up on the channel after I've after we run the live streams. So, don't you worry. 400 live viewers. Nice. Thank you for pointing that out, F-Type 77.

And I also have a separate gaming channel if you want to join in my adventures playing games. We have a nice brooding not brooding but boiling community of people joining in on the live streams the gaming streams.

And um prior to that we finished Silk Song 100%.
I'm going to play more later. Let's continue listening.
>> [music] >> Yes.
Yeah, I am preparing for a piano concert.
>> [music] >> It's like the it's like the end of the world when you have the this type of a punctuations with the horns blaring out like that in the end.
Yes, I am preparing to do a a game game music concert with the like my favorite game themes and I also asked my community on on Patreon and in the Discord what kind of tracks they like and so on.
So, I picked out a collection of like it's it's growing.
It was a I I had prepared like 10 12 tracks to begin with but it's always growing like every day. And when I do these streams and I find a theme that I really like, it's like hmm, I should maybe play that one, too.
So, it becomes a part of of the coming concert.
So, I am preparing a bit and I am post going to post some behind the scenes preparing for the piano concert on on the Patreon and also for for the members here on the YouTube channel.
So, you get a little bit more behind the scenes stuff.
Dark just that some of them are very hard to just perform on the on the piano because it's so like I said it earlier on the in the on the Discord channel about the main theme. It's very like based on so much on the orchestration and not so much on the melody. It's only like the when you have the the main theme dropping so to speak for a for a short bit that you have like a pure delicate defined that's the word defined melody.
Compared to like if you play >> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> that's more as a defined melody. So, it's obviously more easy to both remember and also to play compared to like Dark Souls which is like >> [music] >> But it's it's in E E minor.
But I asked, do you know that last year I talked to Notch, Minecraft creator, through his Twitter four times. Oh, lucky you. Lucky you.
Yeah, I played the Clair Obscur before.
Yeah.
I did a lot of reactions to Clair Obscur, which really helped my channel to take off a little bit for a while.
So, I did a lot of reactions to Clair Obscur and also played a lot of the tracks there.
Anyone? Expedition 33.
You got the wrong video for the reaction. Well, I don't think you can ever get the wrong video for the reaction. Hmm, I guess that's in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?
It's always in the eye of the beholder or in the ears of the beholder.
Trait reveal trailer. Trait reveal trailer.
By the way, anyone seen any cool game trailers lately? Let me know here in the chat, your favorite upcoming games for 2026.
Cuz I need some great games to uh stream on my gaming channel.
Okay, so we're going to continue listening to God Devouring Mania.
Sorry.
Not sorry.
>> [music] >> Really interesting enemy design.
>> [music] >> Anyone know what flute that is?
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah.
Yeah.
Ah, that's the one, the bansuri. Yeah, I totally My my mind was totally blank.
Yeah, it might be the bansuri. I was saying like shakuhachi or what's the name.
It's definitely not the duduk.
>> [laughter] >> Bansuri. Yeah. I think that's the one.
The the the weird thing is I have all these different weird flutes and like South Korean instruments and Indian, Japanese, Chinese instruments. I have all these in sample libraries, but I forget all the time the names of of these.
Of the different variations.
We talked about it in the in the past lives in the last live stream, too, about like the mandolin or Well, at least the sitar is easily to recognize.
So, this is a grass dragon. Grass dragon boss.
I can't uh Yeah, I have to recall again that it's I feel it's very similar to Pokémon, many of the like creature designs. Maybe a little bit more like mature, maybe.
And more embellished designs. Like the music, it's more embellished.
>> [music] [music] >> Then the bassoons.
>> [music] >> Bass clarinets.
>> [music] >> Sitar, sitra.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah.
You can definitely hear it You can definitely hear it that this is in a different region, more like Indian inspired when it comes to to the instrumentations.
With the sitar and or sitra. Sitra, sitar.
Damn, there's some epic horns in there, too.
>> [music] >> The boss in Sumeru.
Yeah, I recall that that name from from the previous live stream. I think that was uh Someone asked me like the favorite theme from the regions or from the previous live stream we did, the first one on Genshin Impact.
And I actually can't tell like a favorite from from that live stream because I as I said earlier, I really enjoy all of these themes.
Uh at least the the region themes, they are very very superb, high quality. I hear there's a little bit of like more ups and downs when it comes to the boss tracks here. Not all of them are are going to be my favorites.
Felt like Ace Combat. Yeah, that's a theme we have to do reaction on, Ace Combat.
Damn, that's some really good music, too.
But like I said earlier, it's uh extremely embellished and uh nicely orchestrated music in uh Genshin Impact.
Finally, some piano.
>> [music] >> Poppy.
>> [music] >> Beautiful counterpoints.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Man, this sounds sounds like something they would hire a flute guy to play.
Anyone saw the the flute guy play at the Game Awards?
I think he played it like on seven or nine different flutes.
Hey, he's the best.
He's just the best.
I love this theme so much.
Just because of the like It makes you smile.
Again, it's one of those that feels like a warm warm hug. It doesn't feel like a very hostile boss theme, that's for sure.
But it's very exciting adventure music.
>> [music] >> Yeah.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Ba bam bam ba da ba bam.
Perfect ending for a perfect theme.
Yeah, they should have flute guy playing that when they play live.
Yeah, he's just something else. He's like a house gnome for the Game Awards every year.
I actually I have a little story around that. I did There's an a virtual instrument called Omnisphere that's used very very commonly used in uh in the film scores and they did an update on Omnisphere 3 to this new virtual instrument. And they had flute guy playing an ostrich egg as a sample the instrument. A very cool sound. So, I did like a small uh short video on on that and uh we actually had flute guy commenting on the video and following following me because of that that post. That was kind of cool.
Yeah.
It's a small world.
Playing an ostrich ostrich egg.
Yeah, exactly. I guess my streams are not for the people with uh too low attention span.
Because I I want to stop and reflect and talk about life.
>> [laughter] >> Or or talk about stories. Yeah, ostrich egg.
It's a really weird. You have to shake it out. Maybe I'll do a live stream just talking about that. We should do that.
But I do have a shorts video. If you go on my main page on YouTube.
Maybe I can find it here later in maybe in the next stream. I look it up.
Yeah, that's why I'm here. I'm here to tell stories and have fun with you guys.
Listen to great music and the reflect on the music. And sometimes there might pop up stories.
But yeah.
And one of the main stories these days uh is all the layoffs in the gaming industry.
But I'm not going to dig too deep into that.
And all the AI usage. I I posted And I'm on now I'm off again. I talked about it on the Discord channel that I talked about with some game companies and they actually like smaller game companies they're using AI in the beginning of the game making process.
But who knows if they're going to replace the music with real musicians.
The problem with the AI music is that if it's purely generated, you can't to copyright it.
That has the the US copyright community have decided that it's not copyrightable if it's purely generated.
So basically anyone can steal your tracks if it's just purely AI generated.
But it's a little bit sad to hear as a composer when you usually get hired quite early in in the game making process. And now the early in the process they're using AI music instead. And they then they're going to hire you like I talked about earlier in the stream here to like replace the the AI music with real music.
So it's it's the circle continues.
Like I talked about earlier the temp temporary music that they used for Star Wars for example Gustav Holst The Planets. And now instead of that they're using AI music. And then they're going to hire you to Hey man, can you replace the violin here or replace the the music here?
Thanks.
I like practiced 30 years to uh to come up with themes and to uh come up with intriguing melodies and and also interesting instrumentation.
Because it's all uh statistically generated stuff. stuff.
It's like uh Robbie Williams said in the I saw him an interview with Robbie Williams. He said back in the days when I was writing hits, you wrote like 70 80 tracks and then one or two of these tracks became a hit. Guess what? Now you press a button in sooner or you do or producer. And then every track that's generated is basically a a hit in that formula. And also with his voice perfectly replicated.
So it's weird days.
Weird days.
Yeah, but yes.
The problem is like for for myself and I I believe I have a quite good ear for hearing AI music and also for hearing when when a music theme is delicately produced and everything and and there's thought behind it. But actually I've generated stuff and I've I've tried it. I've of course as a musician and producer I've experimented a lot with uh like playing small melodies on the piano and then throwing them into the AI and hear how the AI would arrange my my melodies.
And it does come up with superb wonderful arrangements. That's just the reality.
People may complain how much they want about the the quality but it's insane.
It's insane.
Maybe I'll do a a video and and show you all how what I mean with that but because there's a lot of people spreading rumors that it's not like it's not of high quality. It It is such a high quality that it's a many times impossible to hear. And I mean I hear guitar solos sometimes in in the AI generated stuff that man I'd like to play that stuff. But of course it's like statistically generated so it's probably borrowed from some other guitarists.
Or at least it's learned on that so.
Yeah, it's all math. Music is all math but the production is another thing.
But uh that's what I've tried to do in my own music like in uh Eukaryota here and many of if you listen to my tracks on Bandcamp or the streaming platforms I I try to induce my own like my own ballpark of or my own sampled sounds into the music although we're we're already using like I said before we're already using sampled instruments in virtual instruments. So we're already making virtual stuff. It's everything is just it's just a mess.
I don't want to ruin the stream too much.
Messy talk but just wanted to share a little bit insight into how it works in in the industry.
Because you you might have heard rumors about how it worth works.
Yeah, and the emotion you can't simply compute that.
The problem is that many of the generations if I write something on the piano verse and chorus and I throw that just play that on the piano and I throw it that into the into the machine it will kick back a really embellished arrangement of that theme.
But the problem has been that sometimes it you can hear that there's artifacts in in the mostly you can hear the artifacts in the in the voice.
Anyways, we'll talk more about that in another in another show.
Let's continue. How about that? And smash the like.
Yeah, let me know if you would want to hear more of more uh future talk.
How about that? We're talking about sad sad stuff and the music.
This theme is called Eschatologica Ludicrata. I can't even pronounce that.
>> [music] >> Narwhal.
Yeah.
Epic. Yeah, this is like trailer music.
I just want to end the talk that we did here previously with I make music for myself and my my own well-being. I play the piano because of my own well-being and to feel to feel good. And also to share my melodies and what I have inside. And no AI or whatever machinery is going to stop me from doing that. And that's what I'm teaching my kids too. Don't ever give up on your dreams and keep rocking.
Keep keep learning.
I mean the [ __ ] the machines have been around for a long time. And we'll be around for a long time.
Let's just continue making music making good vibrations and having a good time with a narwhal.
Swallowing words.
Try to keep the spoilers to a minimum.
>> [music] [music] >> You know when they're serious when you have these kind of rigid stabs and >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah, what a lovely choir work. Just love that.
Someone's a bass baritone.
The first time I listened to it I thought it was from Bloodborne. Yeah, Mar- Martin Martinez.
Hi by the way.
Yeah, it does give me a little bit of Bloodborne vibes especially when you have the choirs going on like that.
But man, what a cool theme.
>> [music] [music] >> Bloodborne. We all love Bloodborne.
But we always have when we're speaking of speaking of Bloodborne, we always have to complain about where's the 60 60 FPS version? Where's the bloody 60 FPS version? And they're going to give us a bloody bloody animated movie.
Well, that might be good, but no one asked for it. We asked for a game. We asked for a 60 FPS game for the PS5. God damn it.
Why?
I saw someone someone that said it was FromSoftware that actually didn't want to do another Bloodborne.
But there's a lot of rumors.
There's always a lot of rumors out there. I don't believe everything.
But I'm I'm still playing a Bloodborne. We are streaming Bloodborne. We did stream it here on on this channel a little bit, but we're going to stream it on my second Gelhein Gaming channel.
So, make sure you sub to that channel.
If you like to join in on some FromSoftware adventuring. We're also playing Dark Souls 3.
And I I'm having a blast.
I also got the Demon's Souls from my brother here the the other day.
And I just tried it a little bit and the graphics, man. [laughter] The update for the PS5, that's insane.
Yeah, I have to get back to the lasers.
I have to get back to the Bloodborne playthrough, definitely. That was so much fun.
Damn.
Oh, yes.
Chat, we got to let him know the last theme is a leaked beta MIDI version.
Okay.
Yeah.
Let's continue.
The silhouette of a cactus catastrophe.
Catastrophe.
>> [music] [music] >> That's some Skrillex or AU5 baselines right there. All these like gnarly twisting sounds.
Definitely like AU5 or Skrillex.
Yeah, they're some really intricate sound design on this track.
Will I react to Dark Souls? We did a reaction show to Dark Souls 3.
And I think did we do two streams for Dark Souls 3?
At least we did one. I can't remember.
I've been doing so many reaction shows now, so it's hard to recall how many.
Maybe the lasers knows if we did two episodes.
And sometimes I also might cut small sections from uh the live streams and also release as a separate video.
Like favorite parts or something like that.
Sometimes there's like favorite songs that I really enjoy and then I make a separate video for that and a dedicated.
So, we'll see.
I'll probably do some cuts from the first Genshin Genshin Impact stream and maybe from this one, too. We'll see what happens.
Yep.
This is alien.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Man, these like totally silent stops in the music, they really make like catch you off guard.
And it makes the music sound so much more impactful.
There's a lot of bands that uses that to to like a very effectively effectively.
Meshuggah.
Yeah, I know there's more modern versions of Meshuggah, but Meshuggah, they were the roots.
And now we have melodic dubstep or dubstep.
>> [music] >> Oops.
>> [singing] >> Man, the the diversity in this soundtrack.
Like I said, I said it before and I'm going to say it again. It's so wonderful to hear the variation in in this soundtrack.
And also the the overall high quality of each song and and the arrangements.
Chef's kiss. So, now next up we have chorus.
Cenarius Cenarius Hell again, I can't pronounce the names here. Who gives? I'm Swedish.
Blame the Swedish.
>> [music] [singing] [music] [music] >> I like this.
>> [music and singing] [music] [music] [music] >> A modulation again.
>> [music] >> Man, those piano runs.
I love this.
I love all the theatrical stuff. And you're going to learn that if you if you follow along here and tag along my channel, you're going to learn that I'm totally in love with theatrical music.
Big big fan of Phantom of the Opera.
And that's like my origin into uh theatrical music, I guess.
Because I was singing and practicing many songs from Phantom of the Opera back in the day when I was was practicing.
Practicing classical singing.
I did that for 3 years and at the same time as doing like musical studies uh studying harmony, arranging, improvisation and all that stuff.
So, it's very close to heart when I hear theatrical stuff like this.
>> [music] [music] >> And there we have the lift again. Key change.
>> [music] [music] >> It's really cool to have an ostinato like that and then you change the bass note like that and raising the bass note.
>> [music] >> I think we have an organ.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Yes. Yes.
>> [music] >> Yeah. Yeah, I was going to say that this I I we said it in the previous episode, too, when we have these like mysteriously sounding themes. It's very Danny Elfman-inspired and you can hear like the the almost humorous underlying tone. It's like not too too serious.
It has that a bit humorous tone that's always underlying in the or playful tone. Maybe it's humorous is the wrong word. It's more like playful mis- mischievous mischievous mischievous.
I think that's the proper name for for the like thematic material here.
But love the organ.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah.
All right.
>> [music] >> No.
>> [music] >> Yeah, so now it's a straight into another one called Sequentia.
But let's circle back to Corvus sinner sinner scenarios sios sios.
>> [laughter] >> What a title. Sorry for that. I can't say it. But it was I love that theme.
Someone asked me favorite theme of today.
This is one of them.
I as I said, I'm really into theatrical theatrical music and classical class- classical theatrical opera kind of thing.
So love that.
Miss Fontaine.
You miss Fontaine.
Yeah, that was a very nice theme from yesterday's or the Wednesday stream we did on Genshin Genshin Impact.
Love that theme.
From the areas.
From the region the region music.
>> [music] >> More dark and brooding stuff going on.
>> [music] >> Yeah, this any operatic Genshin track is an instant favorite.
I agree.
I see you.
>> [music] [music] >> What a contrast in the voice between the sopranos here and and the the male singer.
Yeah, we love ourselves some theatrical music, don't we?
>> [music] >> Yeah, I was just going to say that when I when I said the male singer, I my instinct instantly was or is it a female singer?
And I instantly regret saying a male vocalist.
That's a soprano.
It's really that kind of voice.
Almost.
>> [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music] [music] [singing] [music] [laughter] >> The finger snap. Totally unexpected.
Silence and then man.
They really know how to throw in unexpected things. But that's what I like with music when you have unexpected things going on.
Faruq drops the bike.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, what a thing.
What a thing. Yeah, there's a lot of contrast in this one with the like children choir and then the female {slash} male vocalist.
But I love it.
It's nice. Very intriguing. But I'm always listening when I hear it as soon as I hear a piano feel like that, I'm listening to that.
It's a lot of details, that's for sure.
As I said many times, very embellished music.
That's what we love.
The snap is a her thing. It's in the trailer version.
Has a live version.
Did they do the snap?
Is that the It's the snap that makes half the world go away.
The snap attack.
Yeah, after that shake the trailer form.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> What a dead.
>> [laughter] >> Cool.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Nice.
Yeah, really cool. These last two themes really cool themes.
Very theatrical and really a really something that I enjoyed to listening to.
I'll go back to these and I'm going to listen into more more of the details and may- maybe we'll do a breakdown of I'll see if I can do a little bit of a more deeply detailed. I don't want to do too much deep deep diving into music theory and details. We might do that for the like patron and for the YouTube members. Join by the way.
Orchestra video version next.
I'm just going to catch up with catch up with the chat a bit.
Yeah, some really nice themes today.
A lot of people in here. Smash the like.
Come on. Push the push the stream.
And throw your favorite emojis in in the chat.
And we don't bite, so ask any type of questions if you have any type of questions.
Yes, we're going to continue with this Vita Corrodens Pestis theme.
Let's go.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah, we're doing good today. Thank you everybody. Thanks a million. Thanks for the support.
That's nice. Thanks.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah, I love the love the boss themes for Genshin Impact as so far. And this is also one of those themes that sounds and draws me a little bit towards like Elden Ring and uh Bloodborne.
Dark Souls 3 soundtrack.
With a a very dark and brooding atmosphere.
So, that's really cool.
We like.
You like.
Yeah, it's a really elaborate. [music] >> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Again, just listen to the embellishments that's that happens in It's so easy to get carried away and listen to like the lead melody. In this case, the the male choir.
Or something like that. But then all the embellishments that happens in the background with like the flute trills and uh or more of a fruit fruit run flute run, sorry. It's my Swenglish again.
We're out on a fruit run. We're running for our avocado and apples and oranges.
A fruit run, sorry.
Maybe I'm tired or something.
But again, very FromSoftware sounding.
And that makes me happy. I love it.
Yeah, happy to have you here. Thanks for joining.
>> [music] >> Yeah, it really keeps you on the edge.
>> [music] >> Thank you, Katya Por Katyarapo.
>> [music] [music] >> Yes.
See, those type of punctuations, that's why we're here.
They really make things so much exciting, especially after those more uh like sustaining parts.
When you get those type of punctuations, you really you really wake up and then we off we go.
We love a dual-wielding dragon.
Yeah, he looks He looks so badass.
Really love the graphics of all these bosses.
They really look cool and unique.
That's maybe the name for it.
That too.
Databyte sir.
Man, why do they have to have so hard names to pronounce?
Mario Galaxy, Doom. Yeah, I'd love to do a Doom reaction.
I think we're going to do that later down the line here.
But uh yeah, as I said earlier, if you want to take more part in the or participate more deeply in selecting tracks and upcoming games to react to or upcoming videos to react to, please join in as a patron. You're going to get a little bit more say over what stuff we react to here on the Game Reaction Show.
Voova OST. Yeah, I've We've had a few people lifting that.
Mewgenics.
I get a lot of requests.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Okay, so here's the question. Totally from talking about dual-wielding claymore anyone. What's your all-time favorite weapon in any type of game?
Or if you want to name your favorite weapon in Genshin Impact, please do that. My own favorite sword of all time, just because of the design of the sword and because it was a sword I used when we played RPG games, tabletop RPG games back when I was a kid, that's the flamberg.
So, as soon as I see a flamberg in a game I'm going for it.
So, let me know your favorite swords.
Fists.
Greatsword, fists, play monk, scythe, polearm, moonlight greatsword.
Genshin classic sword.
And actually in Dark Souls 3, I've been really enjoying dual-wielding daggers.
Or the dagger, because it's such a sweet and swift weapon. Because all the weapons feel so bloody slow.
Actually, talking about slow weapons, now we're into stories again. I was playing uh Listen.
I was playing uh Monster Hunter World earlier today with my son Alex. He's four or he turns 5 years uh next month.
20 28th of April. But we played Monster Hunter World earlier today.
And also Monster Hunter Rise. But damn, if you have some some weapons, they feel so bloody slow, especially if you're coming from a game like Silk Song where everything is like super swift.
Charge blade, axes. Yeah, dual axes.
Dragon swords, that's what we like.
Poison breaking.
Magic is the way.
Yeah.
And uh favorite spell?
Post your favorite spells. Mine is uh meteor rain or fireballs. The good old fireball from Dungeon Master, the original, the OG.
>> [music] [music] >> Shane lightning.
>> [music] [music] >> Man, this is so badass.
Stank face.
>> [music] >> One of a kind.
Vitas Corrodus Pestis.
Ode of a Resurrection recapitulation.
Next up.
>> [music] >> Kingdom Hearts. Which Kingdom Heart? The first or the second?
Which is the best one?
Kingdom Hearts 2?
>> [music] [music] >> Man.
Love the wipe.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> And it subs forward to the the to the major resolution.
Chef's kiss.
Actually, this sounds like something from Enigma or Enya.
Again, they're like Enigma vibe.
Natlan theme.
Saying it's Swahili again.
Yeah, sorry for the joke here in the previous live stream.
I hope you got the joke there.
I did say later that I know it's a real language.
>> [laughter] >> It was just so fun.
>> [music] >> Man, the guitars in this track.
What a mix.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like Home of the Brave, Toto. This is totally like uh This heroic patriotic material.
It's so bloody like anthemic.
And I love it and especially the intro there with the guitar. So exciting.
Join in, guys.
Support the channel. Join in on the Patreon.
>> [music] [music] >> Oh, I love that so much. I'm going to just going to go back here 15 seconds or something.
When you like end on a note on the guitar and then you also take the string below and add that so you get this like tension between the notes.
Mm. I do it all the time myself when I play guitar solos. It's such a lovely thing.
>> [music] >> That thing.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah, pinch harmonics also.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Double bass.
>> [music] [music] >> Double kicks.
Yeah.
Excellent. Excellent track. Yeah, we love ourselves some double bass drum. I know all about that. I played a lot of progressive metal in my days.
And uh hopefully if we can do a stream here down the line listening in and maybe I react to my to my own my own back music, my own back catalog.
Talk about the the writing of of the music.
The writing side. Kicks, double kicks.
We love ourselves some double kicks. Oh, yes.
Yeah, what a track. That's a that's among my favorites of today.
Yeah, it's because of like from the get-go there with the with the intro with the guitars and the the choice of notes to play. It's like chef's kiss.
Here we have another one. Ensnared upon the chessboard.
What kind of boss is that? Let me know here the the ideas behind that this one.
>> [music] >> This is like humor again, the humor of classical music. It's uh Again, we're in Danny Elfman territory but more of bright bright kind of Danny Elfman.
Alice in the Wonderland.
This gives me Alice in Wonderland vibes.
Uh I don't think you should post links in the chat. You can post links on our Discord channel. We You have the link to our Discord channel in the chat and by all means everybody in here, make sure you join in on the Discord channel or my Patreon or join in here on the channel because that's the best way of learning when we do these reaction shows and when we launch new videos and stuff. Because as you all know, the bloody algorithm on YouTube has changed and uh it will recommend whatever stuff to you these like recommend shorts even though you maybe not you're not interested in that.
It's become a total mess like everything else. The the whole game has become a mess.
So make sure you sign up to either my Patreon, join in here on the channel or at least join in on our Discord channel.
And uh yes, there's plenty of different channels in yeah, on the Discord channel for posting.
Posting OST recommendations.
Yeah, YouTube YouTube really YouTube YouTube really has become a madness.
And I've talked about it before also.
Another reason for for joining in on the channel here and supporting uh with a paid tier or also Patreon paid tier is because the monetization on on the channel has also become a mess because they changed everything. I mean, I had the same kind of like ads revenue when I had 10k subs like now when I have 65k subs and I have a lot more watch hours these days compared to when I had 10k subs.
And it doesn't make any sense that I should have less revenue from the channel when it's going like crazy.
It's a mess.
So the best way if you want to support me and this channel and so we can continue this wonderful adventure sharing music and learning, teaching each other stuff.
Life and music.
Make sure you join in.
But at least thanks everybody for joining in here today and listening in with me on the Genshin Impact music.
It's been a wild ride.
Yeah, I'm going to post a link to uh to the Patreon. For Patreon, to the Discord channel.
It's in the in the description to the video if you want to find it faster because I I'm a little bit slow on fetching the the link.
Bear with me.
Bear with me, people.
Starting to get a little bit hungry.
As I mentioned earlier, we try to keep this around 2 hour to 3 hours long live stream. Here you have the invitation.
So click the link. Join in.
Take part of our boiling community.
Patreon is out for bounds due to weird country guidelines. Yeah, that's weird.
But then you can join in on on the channel here on on YouTube if that's uh if that's possible.
And I'm thankful for all the support because I love I love doing this and I'm having a blast and uh yeah. It's so fun to enjoy these soundtracks, talking about games, discovering things together with you guys and sharing my knowledge as a game composer and composer for media for many years.
Yes.
Sorry for all the breaks. Not sorry.
Yeah, we're going to listen in to one one or two or three, maybe three tracks.
We'll see. I'm starting to get hungry.
Maybe you're also hungry.
>> [music] [music] >> Damn.
>> [music] >> Okay, thanks.
>> [music] [music] [bell] [music] [bell and laughter] >> Here's the Here's the playfulness again.
But damn, that was some really dramatic bars prior to this more playful playful part.
Loved that that dramatic part.
There's many twists and turns in this one. It seems like they they're really going all in Danny Elfman in this one.
Edward Scissorhands. By the way, what's your favorite Danny Elfman movie or Tim Burton, sorry.
It's not the Danny Elfman making the movies. He's just making the music.
But he is like second second part of Tim Burton.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Thank for yawning.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> It almost almost gives me the vibes of listening to a Simpsons.
The Simpsons.
The that wild quirky music in the intro.
>> [music] >> Tom and Jerry, yeah.
>> [music] >> Thanks.
>> [music] >> What the theme? Yeah, I can totally understand that you you hit the pause key to listen into that. Yeah, Nightmare Before Christmas. Yeah, I forgot about that one.
Some really I mean, they are timeless the Tim Burton films. They are really timeless.
Because there's so much details in those movies and they're so funny and weird and twisted. It's just just funny to go back to them.
Okay, so the the themes after this one, are they the weird MIDI renditions?
We're going to I mean, this was such a cool track. We're going to continue listening to Order in Chaos, the next one.
I guess it's phase two of this boss. Is that right?
Am I right?
>> [music] [music] [singing] [music] [laughter] >> Exactly.
Vivian, exactly. You ordered Whimsy.
Yeah, this is probably the most whimsical track so far today, I think.
Yeah, they have over a thousand tracks.
72 agent.
Most of any game.
Yeah.
That's a quite some achievement just in in the amount of tracks.
>> [music] >> So it's a it's a muse you get the music and you get the game with the music.
>> [music] [singing] [music] >> Chicken the zombie.
>> [music] [singing] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Listen to the details in the background there with the organ playing that like arpeggio.
>> [laughter] >> We don't hear this part because we died before it.
That's like I I was going to do a a video of What's the name of the boss? I was playing Dark Souls 3 and I my intention for the live stream was I had everything planned out beforehand. I was going to fight the boss and since you don't have music during like the normal gameplay and like when you play the levels in in Dark Souls, you only get the music when you play the bosses.
So I had everything planned out beforehand that now when I reached the boss, I'm going to just suck in the music and I'm going to like talk and analyze the music during the boss and it's going to be all beautiful and everything.
>> [laughter] >> Until I arrived at the boss, if Glaciers in here, maybe he can tell me which boss that was. Uh boreal something if I'm not mistaken. But anyways, I played that boss and then it took like a few a few seconds. It was like a minute maybe, under a minute and then I had slayed the boss.
>> [laughter] >> I realized that I I didn't even have time have time to talk about the music.
So it was Yeah, Vordt of the Boreal Valley, yeah, that one. It was over like in in in a snap.
And then afterwards afterwards, it was like, damn, I missed the chance. That was my one chance to like analyze the music and yeah.
And enjoy the atmosphere while playing the boss, but it was so it was so hectic and and and dramatic.
So I totally I did I didn't even listen to the music, I think, during that boss fight. But I I have listened to it in in like a separate stream, but it's just so funny when you plan out to do certain things and then when you finally arrive to the situation, you're totally blank.
Wicked world.
I'd do anything to hear those songs in real life by orchestra.
Awesome.
Yeah, just a little side story here of my adventure in Dark Souls 3.
>> [music] >> I love this.
>> [music] [music] [music] [laughter] >> It's so over the top like with there's no like no pauses or anything. It's just ha ha ha ha [laughter] all the time and they continue and continue and continue. It's It becomes such a humorous uh um I'm always starting to cry.
>> [laughter] >> It's hilarious.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah, I'm going to listen to this on full full blasting speakers in the car.
That's for sure.
That's for sure.
Yeah, I'm thinking I'm thinking we're ready with the boss themes here for tonight. I'm starting to get really hungry and I hope you have had a really nice time here tonight with me, Yanni Yianni, listening to this second session with Genshin Genshin Impact and if you missed the previous episode, I highly recommend you go back and check the previous stream and also check out my other live streams because it's been the I'm running this uh reaction show.
We run on Wednesdays.
Most of the time, that's like the strict day of the week. Sometimes on Saturdays, like today.
And um all the other weeks day all the other days spread out on the week, I usually stream on my gaming channel, Gelhein Gaming. You have all the links in the description.
So, don't you worry.
Check the description to this video and make sure you hook up on the on the links there, so you can join in and because we also talk about music during the game plays and we talk about the game mechanics.
And it's always a fun experience. Uh we have a great community of people joining in mostly for like every session.
So, it's really a it's really fun experiencing the games with you guys.
And I hope we can have more more friends joining in and having a blast.
Fun times today. Yeah, I had a blast today. Many laughters and many unexpected turns in in the music, too.
So, I hope you carry away something of worth from today's live stream.
And yeah.
Thank you, guys for supporting this reaction adventure. Could you hear my tummy?
It's time for the evening sandwich.
But how do we end the stream today?
That's the question.
How much left until this OST ends?
>> [laughter] >> I'll make small timestamps again. The thing is uh yeah, do that. It's uh always lovely. Thanks a lot for for making timestamps. I usually wait like a day or two and then um when there's subtitles because YouTube generally uh creates subtitles um automatically these days and they are quite good. And when there's subtitles to the video, you can ask Gemini to go and look up your video and make the the timestamps for you. And it's usually like spot-on, almost spot-on.
I usually go in there and change a few things and yes, I am going to go back to the previous live stream and and change a little bit because there there's a few uh few things missing in there.
So, I'm going to go and and fix that.
But I haven't haven't had time to to do that. This means I've I've been just trying to keep up with all the comments from you guys. It's it's been uh it's been amazing.
It's been such a lovely experience to get so much nice feedback on the previous Genshin Genshin Impact live stream.
That's lovely.
So, it's good that you're having a good time here with me. Nice.
Scrap the compilation.
>> [laughter] >> Right.
What happened to the piano?
What?
This is new.
Yeah, whatever.
I usually play a little bit during the like the mid-section of the live streams and usually a little bit at the at the end, too, but now somehow I can't get any sound from the bloody keyboard here.
But we do have a piano here in the background.
>> [music] >> So, that's the ending theme of today.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, happy birthday each MX three music.
So, we're going to end with a track from the Hojo mix called Her Wishes.
Totally unexpected.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah, what a gorgeous light voice. It reminds me a little bit about uh Area uh Brighton.
The female singer on the Ori soundtrack, Light of Nibel.
Which I love.
I adore that track. So, it's lovely to hear and find a track that's has a like similar breathy warm voice.
Just love that this track.
>> [music] [music] >> Is she the singer?
Nabiha Maqbool.
>> [music] [music] [music] [singing] [music] >> She has kiss.
Oh.
How sweet. How sweet sweet beautiful beautiful singing, beautiful song.
Love the dynamics in her voice, the breathiness and also like how she can go back and diminish.
Like the elves in the Lord of the Rings.
Into the West.
Annie Lennox.
Love that song, by the way.
Yeah, thanks everybody for joining in tonight. Please leave a like here in the on the video and while you wait for the next episode the next stream episode, make sure you check out my previous reaction live streams and videos here on my channel.
There's a ton of you to explore on my channel and I'm sure you're going to have a blast and you're going to have a laugh.
It's all on me.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, thanks for joining in, guys. Hope you have a nice evening or morning or whatever.
I guess we are all spread out across the world, but I wish you a sweet day and sweet night and hope you had a nice time here with me tonight.
