And what it is is a pattern of warm sea surface temperatures in the central Pacific that stretches to the East Pacific towards South America. And that pattern of warm sea surface temperatures affects local weather, uh generally causing warmer conditions around the world.

Uh and that is a associated with cooler overall global temperature. A neutral phase and then El Nino with these warmer temperatures over the Pacific associated with warmer global temperatures.
