[00:00:02]Well, looks like we're off to a good start for the weekend or going into next week at least. Meteorologist Jackson Chastain is now here with us. So, can you tell us we're going to be seeing this consistently higher temperatures at this point?

[00:00:13]>> Yeah, and the good news is that we're seeing that consistency because I don't know how many people actually like the temperatures fluctuating like that. We will see some fluctuations this week.

[00:00:22]That'll actually be later on though.

[00:00:24]This is a live look out near Silver Springs. Mix of sun and clouds this afternoon and it's been nice and beautiful sitting at around 77 currently in Reno, 77 for Fernley, 77 also in Yerington, around 70 in Virginia City and the low 60s in Incline Village, mid-60s in South Lake Tahoe. The official high for today obviously not 74° has not come in yet, but all said and done it's either going to be around 77 or 78°. Now, overnight tonight we're going to dip down to around 50°. Some of us will reach the 40s, but it's going to be relatively nice as you step outside and then we'll see that quick warm up as we get through the rest of the morning. Notice between 7:00 and 9:00 we warm about 7° and then between 9:00 and 4:00 we warm a further 20 basically. So, we're going to continue with that upward trend. In fact, Monday's likely the first day that we hit the 80s this week and we're going to have a lots of 80s on the billboard.

[00:01:25]So, you're going to have to strap in for that. We're not seeing much in the way of super duper strong high pressure.

[00:01:30]What we are seeing is a quick one that moves on in early in the week. So, you can kind of see that there that that inverted U-shape characteristic of a high pressure. We are mainly watching this upper low that's going to come in from the Gulf of Alaska. So, early in the week that is not really a problem for us. We are able to kind of continue to get that steady warming going. We'll switch to more westerly to easterly flow in the jet stream Uh which isn't good, it's not bad, doesn't really do anything for us, but we are going to be able to stay relatively stable, and we're able to maintain a lot of this warmth. Now, that will last until the end of the work week and into the weekend when we actually see that low eventually kind of dip in to the south here. And so, we'll tap into a little bit more wind for the weekend. Uh Saturday and Sunday, I think are going to be the days to watch out for that. Uh the big thing that we're watching track-wise is there's no doubt that we're going to see a bit of a cool down this coming weekend is whether this thing stays north or it actually stays south. And And the models are not quite in agreement on that, although the one I'm leaning towards is going to bring it maybe a little bit further south. So, I think there's going to be some opportunity for showers this coming Saturday. Something to watch out for. Uh nothing I've seen showing super widespread stuff around Reno or the western part of Nevada, uh but it is something to put on your radar. Uh the main thing though, I think is that we're going to see that cool down, and then we're going to tap into a little bit of wind there. Temperature-wise, we're going to be several degrees above the average for most of this week, Sunday all the way through this coming Wednesday. Uh or not Sunday through Wednesday, uh Monday all the way through this coming Thursday, we are going to be uh well above the average. Uh That is to follow by actually relatively normal temperatures for really the first several days of June here. So, maybe the second week of June, uh we kind of return to normality. So, if you're not a big fan of the warmth, well, it's going to get closer to the average, which is 80 for this time of year. For tomorrow though, we start to really uh ramp up the warmth, 88 for Caliente. Uh compare that to uh not the 80s. Uh yesterday, 77 for Ely, 84 for Hawthorne, 77 over in Tonopah, 73 over in Eureka, 80 up in Elko, 81 in Lovelock. As for Fallon, 75 in Bridgeport, and we're starting in the 40s and 50s. Uh speaking of the 80s, Yerington hits 80 as does Fernley 81°.

[00:03:56]Virginia steady city stays in the low 70s. Uh the Carson and Eagle Valleys both in the 80s as well. And then warming to around 70 in the Tahoe Basin.

[00:04:05]Reno is going to hit its first 80s likely tomorrow of the week. And we will get to around 81 82° as will Callan Ranch, Sparks, and Hidden Valley.

[00:04:16]Spanish Springs and Sun Valley also in the 80s. Uh meanwhile, just holding a hair shy in places such as Verdi, Somerset, and Cold Springs. And notice we all basically start in the upper 40s here. So, maybe a bit chilly for some.

[00:04:29]Uh overall though, we are seeing those lows get warmer and warmer by the day.

[00:04:33]Uh these are our days to watch.

[00:04:35]Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday I think to potentially hit 90. Uh there's a solid shot to be made that at at least one of these days will do so. And then notice by this coming Sunday, we drop all the way down uh to around 78°. So, uh sustained warmth, consistent warmth.

[00:04:50]You kind of know what you're getting this week and uh even for the weekend, the rain chances don't seem particularly high at the moment. So, uh good news for your uh upcoming weekend plans.
