FN M4 Meltdown

[00:00:35]>> [music] [music] >> All right, guys, we are back with another meltdown. And on today's video, we're going to be melting down the FN military collector's edition M4. So, this is going to be a very interesting upper. One that a lot of you all have requested. You know, we've melted down a Colt M4, a Colt M4A1.

[00:00:56]Uh we've melted down a BCA M4. Uh Uh if I'm not mistaken, maybe another different M4. But, this one here is the FN. This is pretty much uh a one-to-one if you walked into a uh military base right now and picked up a M4, this would be the closest thing that you could find to what it is. So, I can tell here the uh barrel underneath the handguard is a heavy profile uh HBAR barrel. And you can get your M2 or M4 cuts up front, but it is not uh M203 cut only barrel. So, it is a full heavy HBAR barrel. So, that's pretty cool. So, this will be pretty much how long can the gas tube blast? And will it beat out the Colt M4A1? Uh you know, this is technically speaking, like I said, the military collector's edition M4, but it is really an M4A1 because it's got that heavy barrel on it. [00:03:45]Gas tube is already getting bad hot, boys.

[00:04:36]Yep, gas tube is completely d r o u n d o e done. She went through the big D and don't mean Don Franklin, didn't she, boys? So, let's go ahead and let her cool down, do us a round count, and we'll get right back to you.

[00:05:33]All right, guys, so we have now melted the uh FN M4 collector's series. So, it uh went 419 rounds. 419. So, uh below average right now. Uh so, a decent Well, not Well, yeah, decent amount below average. So, I was expecting, like I said, I was expecting 600 rounds. Kyle was like at 802. Kyle, what did the M4 go? The original Colt M4. The Colt M4 went 491. Okay, so the Colt M4 went 491.

[00:06:02]So, it beat this one by, you know, by around 70 rounds. Yep. Okay.

[00:06:06]>> And then the Colt M4A1 uh went 800 and I'm sorry. The Colt M4A1 went 783.

[00:06:16]>> Okay, 783. So, yeah, it beat the Colt M4A1 beat this one by a good amount. So, uh maybe What now? A little bit shorter barrel.

[00:06:26]>> No, it was Colt M4A1 was 14 1/2. This is a 14 1/2 inch pinned welded.

[00:06:30]So, now uh So, guys, that being said, that's uh that's kind of scary cuz the military might have downgraded when they went to FN instead of Colt. I don't know. I'm not going to make that assumption or whatever else. But, for the M4A1 to make it what was 780 some? 783. 783 versus 419, that's a that's a big difference, especially in a firefight. And you know, as everything going on right now, we ain't at war with uh Russia or uh China or North Korea yet. But, I mean, it By the time we post this video, we might be. Huh.

[00:07:01]But, anyway, guys, that being said, 419 rounds. Leave in comment section what you think. Like I said, I'm kind of disappointed with it. I expected longer.

[00:07:09]I expected to go a little bit further.

[00:07:10]So, it is what it is. Sometimes we're disappointed, sometimes we ain't. Final failure was the gas tube, though. Uh we had a gas tube rupture right here in the front uh of the right right close to the actual post. I can see it right here.

[00:07:22]And the gas tube uh looking like a snake in there. So, maybe with an upgraded gas tube in here, we would have seen a lot longer because there's not a single bend in one of this barrel. We can take the gas tube out, put a new one in, and speed back out.

[00:07:32]It'd be a brand new upper. So, it is what it is, guys. But, once again, I appreciate y'all viewing as always.
