Okay. So, um passing chords to the five chord. Passing chords to the five chord.
So, if you're in the key of F sharp, then that means our five chord is five chord is the C sharp major. So, this is one F sharp, two F flat, three B flat, then four B major, then five C sharp, then six E flat, then seven F diminished, then eight is a is the the one or octave of the one or we say the just the eight F sharp.
Okay. So, this is chord number one, chord number [music] two, chord number three, chord number four, chord number five, chord number six, chord number seven, chord number eight.
All right. So, that means we let's take for example a progression like you are wonderful.
[singing] You are [music] worthy, oh God.
You are wonderful.
You are You're [music and singing] worthy, Lord.
You are wonderful.
You are worthy, [music and singing] oh Lord.
You are wonderful.
You [music] are [singing] worthy, oh God. Now, in that progression, I'm going to put passing chords that can take me to the five. But now, my five will be a dominant chord. I showed you the dominant or dominant chords are in my previous previous video previous uh video. So, if you've not seen that lesson, please go to my videos and look for a lesson that I did uh uh how to form and apply dominant chords. Please look for that lesson.
It's talking about dominant, how you can form dominant chords, and how you can apply them in a song. So, for instance, dominant chords, we use them as five chords.
So, in the key of F sharp, my five chord I'm going to make it a dominant. So, dominant chord means on top of a major chord, this is the five chord in the key of F sharp. So, I'm going to add the the flat seventh of the scale. The flat seventh of the scale of the fifth chord, all right? So, sorry. So, this one is going [music] to be uh a C sharp dominant. So, what I'm going to do, I'm just going to make a an inversion of this chord. So, it will sound this way. All right? So, this one is my five. So, for instance, I can play You're wonderful.
>> [music] >> Sorry, you're worthy, [singing] oh God. All right, [music] so this this chord here. So, this this is going to be my my five chord.
So, let's apply it. Let's apply it in a song. Let's apply it in a song. So, the chords that I'm going to show you, I'm going to play chromatic chords.
All right? So, I'm going to play like I'm coming down chromatically to to the five. So, I'm going to play these two notes, [music] the D sharp and A sharp.
Then D and A, all right?
Then to the dominant chord. So, all right? [music] All right. So, this is the fingering.
This is how I'm playing it using the thumb and the last finger.
The thumb and the last finger.
And then the thumb and the last finger again, the pinky finger on the D and um >> [music] >> and A.
And then to the dominant chord. So, all right? Very simple. So, So, let let me show you how where we apply these these chords. So, you are wonderful.
>> [music] >> You are All right. So, then then then then then to the five.
Worthy [music and singing] oh God.
You are wonderful.
>> [music] >> You are >> [music] >> What? So, you are worthy.
So, you >> [music] >> are wonderful.
You are >> [music] >> worthy oh Lord.
You are >> [music] >> wonderful.
You are >> [music] >> worthy.
Yeah, so those are the passing chords.
You can use them to go to your five. I also have another chromatic passing chord or chromatic passing chords that I but I show you in the next lesson.
