[00:00:08]Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another video here on the channel. Today we are exploring Beijing, China. And I'm very very excited to be here. This is my country number 76.

[00:00:25]And uh China as a first impressions just been amazing and the country just keep surprising me more and more. The cleanness, organization and how everything functions perfectly even though this is one of the most populated countries in the world. China actually stands as number two as India is leading currently. But before India uh took over, China was leading for so many years with 1.4 billion people and uh India approximately has 1.5 billion people living. So our goal today is to go to the uh temple of heaven and that's going to be one of the highlights for me I think for Beijing. When I looked at all the landmarks which I wanted to visit in Beijing, one was definitely uh the Great Wall of China. No doubts.

[00:01:25]Incredible. That was a wonderful experience. I'm sure you have seen the video in the channel. And then of course this temple which I want to visit. So as we are getting into the surrounding areas of the temple or in general there's like a huge park in this area.

[00:01:43]It's becoming busy as you can see lots of tourist buses here too. And uh the security is very tight here in China in general. You see lots of cameras everywhere. Uh some of them are just for surveillance. Some of them are just for data collection and all type of cameras basically you see everywhere as you're traveling in China. But that it depends how you want to take it. Some people might be paranoid about it. I comfort I'm very comfortable. I feel very safe.

[00:02:17]And uh also there are lots of uh security checks like here. So before we enter to the park, we have to go through certain screening. If you have a luggage or something, it will be controlled. Uh but I think also our passports will be checked before we enter all the way in.

[00:02:36]So let's see how this process goes.

[00:02:42]I'm not sure if there I think there is no I think there is no check here. This is just the machine doesn't work. I think it's going to be next part general service counter. Maybe this is where we need to get our tickets boat.

[00:03:00]That might be the option. I think there is a machine and the payments and everything is very very easy. I could do this online too but if I come here it will be also quite easy process to just buy a ticket and the line is not too long. I think I'm going to go for the real person experience.

[00:03:22]So there's the machines and then here are the people. So let's try to get a ticket. Admission ticket for high season it's around 15. 15. The ticket package for high season 34. 34 is the maximum we're going to pay.

[00:03:50]>> All right, guys. We are in. You hand over your passport, you get a ticket, and the ticket cost 34 yuan, and that's approximately $5 US. So, there was a cheaper version. You can actually just access to the park if you just want to walk around in the park. But of course, I'm here for the temple. So, I really want to visit the temple. So, that's why we went for expensive version. But China is so affordable. And I really like the fact how they are not discriminating between tourists and locals. Everyone pays basically the same price to visit to certain places and all the touristic places I believe. So um but that's not the case for some of the touristic countries you go to.

[00:04:41]Foreigner price local price are completely different and there's a massive difference between them. So that's not the case for China so far. At least I haven't seen anywhere like something like that. All right. So it's quite busy and I think in general China is busy when you are going out during the afternoon. If you want to go to certain places you have to go really early morning or later during the sunset time which becomes a little bit more easy but China has so much population and the domestic tourism is massive in the country. So which means if you just like you don't see foreigners much but there will be huge domestic tourism. So people come from different cities in China and visit. I mean 1.4 billion people. They don't need foreigners. They don't need more people in this country like other countries like for example Sri Lanka is depends on tourism.

[00:05:43]Maldives depends on tourism.

[00:05:46]uh like a as a island, Bali for example, places like this. But China, none of these cities needs tourism from outside because domestic tourism is massive and Chinese people supports the Chinese businesses basically.

[00:06:04]All right. So, it's pretty busy, but still you have your space for yourself.

[00:06:10]And uh I think I want to go to the restrooms first and it's on the left side before we continue. So I will do the toilet visit quickly and then afterwards we're going to enter through this gates to the park.

[00:06:26]All right guys, we had to come through this long hole here which is beautifully designed. And from here we can go to left hole of prayer for good harvest or we can go to divine kitchen. I think we're going to just quickly check the divine kitchen and then afterwards we're going to visit different places. Wow, the architecture is just incredible. All these colors, the green roof and blue combination and then the red fence and the columns. It's pretty outstanding.

[00:07:00]I'm not sure what is this, but probably keeping some water here. That looks pretty cool, too. As you can see, it's very chill. You can just come around, take pictures, take videos. This is one of the things I love about China is that no one said anything to me about holding a camera. Not a single word. Everyone is just super comfy. And I mean there are cameras everywhere anyway. But uh neither the people uh or nor uh the the people who is like in power police security you know in other countries they love to power trip you as soon as they are security in some random place and they're like no camera no filming but China is like super chill and super cool and that's something I really appreciate. So you are free to go around take pictures and photos and no one will say anything to you. Even certain museums when you go to museums even there there is no like a policy no pictures no photos and in general Chinese people love to take lots of pictures and photos. So you will see that lots of people just walking around with a camera with a phone and they love to take pictures of random things even.

[00:08:20]So, it's kind of like a little muz here.

[00:08:23]We're not going to waste too much time here, but we can definitely come check it out. I think we're going to visit the next building right there and then see what we can expect.

[00:08:36]Oh, China, man. I love it. And especially when it there's a good weather, when it's sunny, you cannot compare it. Everything is clean, everything is organized, taxi systems, payments, and uh I talked about the price of entrance to here, which is around $5 US. Uh another thing you need to know that in China, you don't use any cash. So no cash policy almost. I mean they legally they supposed to accept cash but literally nobody use cash. So Alip pay is always the way to go. So we have got a more museum art here. We have got some emperor clothing as you can see. We have got some art right here.

[00:09:21]It's probably made from wood. This is from 7th century. So it's at least 300 years old item standing here.

[00:09:31]I'm not sure what was this, but it's pretty cool.

[00:09:38]I love the designs of things, the Chinese way, all the paintings and all the artwork, all the color combination is so different than any other countries. I have been in the region. I mean, there are some similarities to Bhutan. There are similarities to uh Japanese architecture.

[00:10:01]Uh I guess Korean as well. I have never been to Korea, but I guess there are some similarities. But this is more about uh being closer to another country. So it's more about the ge geographic location. So like naturally things get shipped around and then the borders change. So you keep the culture and tradition and architecture from other parts of the world. All right, this was a quick visit here and then we're going to get to the main temple.

[00:10:32]That's going to be the most exciting area for us to visit just in a bit.

[00:10:42]All right, guys. We are approaching to the temple. As you can see, it's actually very, very busy here. I think here we're going to do the check of our tickets before we can enter because you can actually get a ticket. You can come only this area, but then your ticket needs to be checked one more time before you enter. And if you are visiting China and especially if you're visiting Buddhist majority countries, if you are visiting religious places temp like a temples, there is a one very important rule and when you're entering to the temple, there's always this barricade here. So this is the barricade you never step on. Like don't step on this barricade because it's a belief, it's a religious thing. So you have to always go over it instead of touching it. So, as you can see, nobody going to step on it. Everyone just goes over it. And we're going to do the exactly the same.

[00:11:40]So, always hands up and the legs up. And then you cross to the other side. So, uh-oh. No, no. Stop there.

[00:11:53]As you can see, most of the people are just doing it over. Oh, kids are doing it, too.

[00:12:02]I'm not sure. But if you want to be respectful, then that's how you should do it. Basically, just always go over that barricade, especially when you enter to the temples. Maybe this one is not that important, but other ones will be more important.

[00:12:23]Wow, it is pretty busy here. Most of those people are coming from different cities from China and then they come in a tour company. So they travel with a big buses and uh they provide this type of services also to foreigners. So you will see that group of foreigners also traveling around like 20 30 people. All right guys, this is what we came for.

[00:12:53]The temple of heaven. This is one of the most recognizable buildings in China. Especially if you are searching for Beijing, this is the one of the pictures will definitely pop up along the Great Wall of China, of course. So, as you can see, lots of people take pictures here. And when you travel to China, you will recognize that lots of people having this traditional emperor clothing like from different dynasties. And I'm assuming they are renting those clothes. They are not owning it. They are just renting it from uh certain companies to have the opportunity to take pictures in their traditional dynasty historical clothing which is pretty cool to see. Most of the woman does that but uh I think you can also find some men do it the same. So we are progressing towards the temple. I'm actually very surprised that this is allowed. You can actually come all the way here. I would rather have it, you know, protected.

[00:14:07]All right, we're going to do a little bit around before we go one more up.

[00:14:12]So, you can see everyone is in their traditional clothing, very colorful.

[00:14:18]And uh it's very amazing to see how proud are Chinese about their history, about their traditions and culture. Obviously, I mean, imagine being Chinese and not being proud of what your country has achieved in so many decades and centuries. Imagine being like a Egyptian and not being proud of your Egyptian ancestry. Like, it's the same with China. I mean, who wouldn't be proud?

[00:14:48]All right, guys. Let's give you the first impressions of the temple. Wow, it is amazing. Let me get to the shade.

[00:15:00]Everyone, you can see has a phones and cameras. Everyone's taking some pictures. We have got a ladies here. And uh again, uh traditional dresses.

[00:15:14]This temple is incredible. It's so beautiful. All the colors.

[00:15:19]The bottom is red and then it's a combination of blue, green and then golden colors that goes three different roofs over it which is quite incredible.

[00:15:32]And uh you might be thinking or asking about the temple itself. This temple was actually built in the beginning of 15th century. So if you calculate it, it's around 600 years old temple which we are visiting right now. So this was built during the mink dynasty and um the main purpose of this temple is actually do offerings to the heaven for a good harvest. So you know harvesting food is super important for humans and it always been for any any humanity even right now like we need to always have a good harvesting year or we are wishing for a better rain we are wishing for more uh goods more products and you know for especially for the bread. So same during that time and uh for that they were doing sacrifices. So they were doing animal sacrifices around this complex and also uh trying to bring the good vibes from the heaven and also connect the heaven with earth. So that was the idea of having this temple uh which is amazing and also during that time the dynasty or emperor was the son of god. So it wasn't kind of like connected to any specific type of a religion. It wasn't connected to Buddhism. It wasn't connected to I don't know any other religion. Uh there were of course local beliefs but this was literally just a opportunity to connect between heaven and earth for a good harvest. So that's why they were uh sacrificing animals doing offerings and offerings can be wine, can be some certain products, can be silk and things like this.

[00:17:28]Wow, the sun is shining from this side and then we have got a even more better colors popping which is amazing.

[00:17:40]when you're visiting a busy places here in China, you will have this speaker, especially when it's get crowded and especially when there is public holiday.

[00:17:49]When there's a big public holiday, then those speakers are actually tripled uh because of the safety concerns. So, they're always announcing like probably keep a distance, be safe, watch out for steps and uh or don't do certain things.

[00:18:05]That's what I'm assuming. I don't understand Chinese so I cannot tell you exactly what it is. Wow. This is this is absolutely amazing man. And from those doors we will get the opportunity to see the inside at least slightly.

[00:18:29]I mean those are also old parts of the structure but they have whole they have put this structure right here the new structure to protect the walls but uh regardless you can see the ladies are actually passing to the other side like she's literally in between those uh barricades and people are touching everything so using the steps.

[00:18:55]I don't know. I guess China knows better than me. If I was if it was me, if if I was on power, I wouldn't let anyone to be here. Everyone can look it from down there. I think that would be better. But we wouldn't get the opportunity to see the temple from so close, which is amazing. So over 600 years of history struct structure standing in place and will be here for many more centuries which is beautiful.

From here you can see the Beijing skyline and my hotel is actually located in that part which is CBD area. All these buildings and uh CBD means central business district. So it's all businesses and hotels and banks just right there which is pretty nice.

[00:29:19]Of course, uh Temple of Sacrifice is right there. That was the highlight. And we are also visiting this place which is only right here 100 meter away. Imperial Walt of Heaven. It's also called Echo Wall. And uh we're going to go inside and of course hall of prayer for good harvest was located there. So it's just in front of each other only 300 m walk away. And then you arrive to this beauty. Check this out. are going to do another entrance and the same way right here. Don't step over it. Just step over it. Don't step on it.

[00:30:00]And we are here. So very interesting fact about this place is that is the walls. This whole structure is actually round. So as you can see how what's the curvature there? It goes all around this place. And I'm not sure if it's true or not, but it's it's that's the reason why it's called echo wall because in a normal time, I think when there's not so many people, if you whisper on this end, far away at the other side of the wall, they can actually hear you. So if you whisper right here and then people on the other side of the wall can actually hear you because how curved is the wall.

[00:30:47]Not sure if it's true. We cannot really test it today because it's so busy here and so many other noises that we cannot really uh put it in test. But this building, this structure is also pretty beautiful. similar architecture, round shape and then has only one roof and then under it is decorated with golden blue and green colors and also has a little pick at the end which was a golden color which is pretty cool. So there will be lots of rest area here too. So people gather just to take a rest from the sun.

[00:31:30]There's some special tree here. It's called nine dragon cyprus. Chinese juniper is designed as first class ancient tree.

[00:31:40]>> So people love to take pictures and for some reason actually people use their hands like they are doing like this and then they are rubbing it together.

[00:31:56]Okay. Very interesting. So they're probably taking energy. They put their hands and then they rub it to each other like bringing luck. As you can see this ladies here too.

[00:32:14]Like it's amazing how people believe things. Of course there are always some reasons for it but uh that's how every religion borns. like you supposed to believe something stronger than you, superior than you. So, it's so interesting like all the religions are similar.

[00:32:43]And as you can see, there's always some food options. And then we have got I'm not sure if this is a ice cream or is this like a little Chinese pancakes but I guess it's it is ice cream. And then they have got some food here too. So similar shape like the other place.

We have to go see some new exciting places, guys. So, I'm just about to leave from the place. For $5, you can visit and spend the whole day here, basically.

So we had the language parer but actually managed everything through with the Google translate. So Alip pay is super easy. You don't have to have any cash. She just pay with the QR code which is pretty cool experience.

Maybe pro foreigners don't buy from her but uh lots of other people like domestic tourism who does here Chinese people. I'm sure they are supporting her. [00:41:33]Now as we are here in Beijing, I actually want to take the opportunity to use their metro system and uh it's very easy to navigate here in China. And uh if you are coming you have to download few applications. One of them is Alipe.

You have to forget about the Google maps and you should download a map called a map like a a like a letter a map a map and that's the name of the map which makes it so much easier to navigate for the taxis find the locations good restaurants and also um navigate yourself with the public transportation. So we are entering to the metro system right now. We are in a station called Tiano. Tiano station.

So, we have got the ticket office right here. We have to go through the security first. And I think we got we're going to QR code our uh ticket.

If not, okay, now maybe I was holding a little bit too far away that's why. So that's it. And then we're going to scan to exit. As you can see, it says here scan to exist. So, we have to wait for our last station and I think based on the stations, it's going to charge us whatever amount. So, you don't have to buy ticket. You don't have to deal with the machine there. It's actually super super easy. All right, I need to find my way. So, we are traveling to Ginyu Hutong and uh we're going to look at the map.

[00:45:34]So, there are maps right there and there's a big map on this side. We need to go only four different stations and I think it's going to be this way.

[00:46:34]And the metro inside it looks pretty simple, nice. Nothing too exclusive, nothing too crazy. I don't think there's any VIP area. There's no ladies area like in Arabic countries. I think the metro system in Arabic countries is even another level, which is incredible. All right, going to travel four stations and then we will get out very very soon.

So it's preventing all the accidents can happen while the the metro arriving. So, we're going to take our escalator out and uh I believe we are going to the exit exit B or something like this. We are heading direction to exit B. So, this map a map is actually incredible. It shows you exactly uh where you need to go, which direction to be the closest to your destination.

[00:48:13]So, I think we're going to exit from somewhere from here. So exits B and C very organized and everything you can find in English too says east exit. So that's where we are heading right now.

[00:48:27]We have got some um little shop here to buy some drinks if you like. And almost everywhere in China you will find power banks. Um like you can find you can scan QR code, rent it and then you can drop it somewhere else because these stations are almost everywhere uh near the restaurants, main streets, metros and I guess train stations and everywhere like this and then we have got some little shop here too which is pretty cool. So everything is a QR code. You scan a QR code and then the machine drops whatever you choose, whatever you have paid for, I guess. Or I don't know, maybe the whole fridge opens. Ah, it's a fridge.

[00:49:10]So, it just just like opens after you pay for it and then you pick up the gift. So, I guess based on the weight or something, they are you can take the product. I'm not sure if it was in another country, you can open the QR code once and take everything basically.

Uh, of course there are so many lines, so it can get a little bit overwhelming if you go for the first time, but you don't have to even buy a ticket. So, you don't have to tell exactly where you're getting out. You can just scan the QR code and then uh when you're going out, you just scan the car again and then they understand the distance. I think that's how they charge you actually, not by time, by uh the distance you have traveled through.

Look at how everything is so cool, so organized. Of course, there are so many people in this city. Over 20 million people live here, which means you need lots of different type of transportation. And one of the coolest ways to get around are this uh bike. You can just take it and then you can put it anywhere near where's your destination and then people leave it on the street, but you can pick it up and then go. and of course taxis and cars and buses. So city is busy but it doesn't feel so busy. It doesn't feel chaotic. It doesn't feel like super crazy to me. So that's something I have noticed while being here at least in Beijing. So we have got a Hawaii uh shop like the pretty big one and then when you look to the other side of the street we have got a huge apple shop on the other side as well. Uh, Hawaii is the Hawaii. Hawaii, I think I'm saying it right. Hawaii or Hawaii is the Chinese brand and they're actually good with the cars, too. So, maybe let's just go visit to see if we can film some of their maybe newest products or whatever. Uh, English will be quite difficult. So, that's why we have to refer to our Google Translate.

Or is this just like a Nike shop and then they represent NBA? I'm not sure. How is it? All right. I think we are in this famous shopping street which looks pretty good. We have got a Nike there. We have got another shopping mall on the other side. And uh maybe I'm going to actually check out the Apple shop. I think that will be quite interesting for lots of people. Uh but especially for the American viewers.

[00:59:31]So, you have to download lots of new apps. You have to know what you are doing, how you are paying. You have to be very ready before you arrive to the country. You have to make sure all your bank cards are kind of connected uh to the applications like Alip Pay, VChat.

So you need to have a VPN or you need to have a SIM card from Holofly that basically you get access to the internet but uh that card also comes with VPN. So you don't need additional VPN which is pretty cool. So lots of these like little details and not having any cash system. So your phone has to be always on. If your phone is dead means you cannot get around here. You cannot translate the menus. You cannot pay for things. You cannot get around with the metro ether, taxi, nothing because you don't have cash on top of that. So it's a pretty interesting country. So you have to do lots of research before you arrive to China. But once you are here, it's pretty cool, man. It's absolutely different different experience.
