Whispers in the MirrorAdded:
Well, hello everybody. Happy boxing Friday.
Well, I've heard it said that counselors like to have crossdressers as their clients because crossdressers often are really genuinely interested in understanding themselves and what makes them tick.
Now, I personally have never seen a counselor but even from like a young age, I was someone who liked to really felt I was someone who really felt the need to understand myself. So, I would like read what I could about like gender diversity and like back then it was either like they didn't talk much about crossdressing.
You were either gay or a transsexual but they didn't really talk about crossdressing very much.
Um but I continued to research and learn. In fact, when my wife and I first got married and I came out to her, we went to actually this before we got married. We went to the library and we read everything that we could. Well, of course the internet makes that a lot easier and um there's lots of resources out there but I'm old school, I like books and stuff.
I talked to you once before maybe a long time ago about a couple of the books I've read.
One of them is the it is called Becoming Nicole about someone that's grown about these two twins and one of them is straight and the other one um is um a boy that becomes a girl.
Um and then there was another one called I think it was called Crossdressing and Gender Diversity or something like that.
That one was really good. It's more about like a sociology book. It's um kind of goes into the history as well as a lot of like case studies and more scientific.
And a while back someone suggested this book.
Um it's about [snorts] Native American um gender diversity. It's called The Spirit and the Flesh. And so I bought this one and it's not bad as well. It talks about the Native Americans and their different gender diversity. It's a little repetitive and I never quite made it all the way through.
Um So, those are some books that I've read.
There's a textbook that talks about the different um different genders around the world and different cultures. I haven't quite gotten myself to like pull the trigger on that one. It's like $150 so um it sounds really interesting but it's one that I haven't quite read yet. But anyway, what I'm really wanting to tell you about is a new book that's come out.
It's actually written by someone that I know, Leah Taylor.
Um it's called Whispers in the Mirror and I'm not just telling you about it because she's a friend of mine. It's it's really quite good. I've read it all the way through.
I read it in like two days and um it's really well written and I would know um cuz I've got a lot of authors in my family. Um very close relative of mine was an author um was a writer, a professional writer and so I can be kind of critical sometimes about different writing styles. Uh um and it's it's really well written. It actually starts off really nice about telling you different people's stories and but it also goes into like the science um as far as we know about crossdressing and gender diversity and trans um also kind of weaves in her own story and kind of bounces back and forth so it's super fun read and I really like it.
Um so check that out. Um I will post a link to it as well because because she's a friend of mine so I want to help her out a little bit but I really honestly really enjoyed the book. So, that's one.
Those other ones are good too but this is the one I'm most excited about right now and hope you enjoy it too.
And you know, it's great for someone that is like trying to understand themselves or like a spouse or relative that wants someone to understand their loved one that has like these um crossdressing gender issues. So, anyway I like to share things that I've discovered cuz I know there's a lot of people that kind of in the same boat that I am where we have this thing that we really enjoy but it's kind of hard sometimes to really figure it out. But so it's nice to have these resources.
Have a good weekend everybody.
