We're joined by Sam on this. uh Sam of course uh buzz and speculations growing over Ana Malai's exit amid that in fact I'll first go across to Ashwaryia who's joining us from New Delhi Ashwaria what more can you tell us about this meeting a crucial one amid buzz over Anamalai's exit well certainly last night when Kanalai left Chennai he was in a car that was without the barta at his saffron flag and he stated uh that after he will speak to the supporters he will take the final call as to what his prospects are in for the near future. But what we have been told as of now is that in the national capital this morning he made met with uh the with with BJP president Nathan Nabin and also with BL Santosh here at the BJP extension office.

[00:01:18]Certainly it's an important meeting what the sources close to Anam Mallay have stated that it's more of a courtesy call. He wanted to thank the party for the opportunities that the BJP top leadership has given to him over the last 5 years as his tenure for the BJP president in the state of Tamil Nadu concludes also on the other side he wanted to you know be courtesy enough as to a respectful exit from the party and whether he will join certainly a new party or will form a new party or will be starting a people's movement uh is something that remains to be seen but here in Delhi he has met the BJP top leadership including the BJP president Nitan Nabin and also BL Santosh as well.

[00:02:02]Now what would have been uh you know the uh agenda as far as his perspectives is concerned in Tamil Nadu because he was not very much happy with the kind of alliance that the top leadership has done with the AADMK in the past and certainly he had raised it with top leadership as well. Anamalai wanted that he that the Bharti Jantaa party should fight independently but because of the electoral and the political equations the Bharti party top leadership went ahead and with done at alliance with the AA DMK but certainly it was Anamalai which was not happy and the kind of results that came out certainly Ana Mallay has chosen his own path where it will lead to will certainly depends on these crucial meetings in the national capital >> right Ash let me also go to Sam on this who's joining us from Chennai. Sam, what more are you picking up? You know what could be the outcome of this meeting?

[00:02:55]Anamalai certainly considering his uh next steps it could be an exit from the BJP but over the last you know few years or a couple of years perhaps he was not happy with some of the decisions taken by the top leadership as far as BJP is concerned and he was perhaps sidelined just ahead of uh the recently concluded assembly election. So all that perhaps could have played out uh in him uh taking this important decision.

[00:03:26]Ratika unless there is a lastm minute change of heart sources close to Mr. Namalai told us that this meeting was to bid goodbye to the BJP to part on a very cordial note thanking the party's leadership for all the opportunities given to him the trust to steer the party in Tamil Nadu and to strategies over the last 5 years and whether he would have told them about the launch of his political party or the uh people's movement that's something we'll have to wait and watch but any formal communication from Anamalai's side would only happen after his return to Chennai perhaps in a few days from today after his birthday yesterday as he took off from Chennai all he would say was give me 2 days time I will leisurely candidly speak to you that gave enough indication that it could be a meeting to bid goodbye but yes the problem started Ravika last year when the BJP decided to revive its toys with the AADMK although anam who was the then state BJP chief wanted to go alone that election but the party later immediately uh relieved him from that position because EPS the AADMK boss wanted this to be a precondition that for the revival of toys anomaly should not be at the helm of the BJP in the state and at that time the BJP had assured that Anamali will be given a suitable national role so that he does not feel sidelined but that did not happen but after that the 2026 elections happened the BJP's tally went down from four MLAs to one but analy was neither given a significant role in campaign strategy or given any major assignments as well and that was the last draw his indication of that is it's all over now came a few days ago when he criticized the central government particularly the CBSC for its premature implement mentation of the free language policy seen as a direct criticism of the central government. Lastly, Radika, his supporters still say he enjoys uh he looks at Prime Minister Modi as a kind of an inspiration and the BJP also tried to retain him offering him a Rajya Sabha birth but he declined it.

[00:06:06]sources telling NDTV that Anamalai felt constrained within the BJP was unhappy with the party's direction and sees no clear road map for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections and amid the exit bus. Anam Mallay is now in Delhi and has met the BJP leadership sources say has declined a Rajya Sabha offer even as the party makes efforts to retain him. Responding to speculation, Anamala has remained guarded saying he will address all rumors and clarify his position within the next 2 days. Let me go back to Sam on this. Besides that, he could be building a volunteer base and district level network and youth and professional outreach is something that Ana Malai could be considering in the near future.

So he could be launching an independent movement or perhaps an independent platform, political platform of his own is the buzz.
