The Planet That Can Float on Water! 🪐🌊 #Saturn #Cassini #Titan #Astronomy #SpaceShorts #shortsAdded:
If you love rings, you need Saturn. It's the solar system's [music] bling king, and yes, it might float. Saturn sits sixth from the sun at about 9.5 AU. A gas giant roughly 116,000 km across, about nine times wider than Earth. A day there is only 10.7 [music] hours, but a year nearly 29.5 Earth years.
Its rings are the showstopper. Ice, rock, spread over 280,000 km, often less than 1 [music] km thick.
Major ring A, major ring B, major ring C, Cassini division, a cosmic vinyl record. Atmosphere, mostly hydrogen, helium with traces of methane and ammonia. Winds roar up to 1,800 km/h. A weird hexagon storms the North Pole.
Saturn has 140 plus moons. Titan, bigger than Mercury with methane lakes.
Enceladus, spraying water plumes. Both huge for astrobiology. Its density is so low, Saturn would float in a giant ocean.
Cassini-Huygens taught us most of this.
Through a small telescope, Saturn looks poetic, a giant wrapped in light.
