Time Travel to Sparta's War Room: Thermopylae Plan

[00:00:00]Okay, I was making breakfast five minutes ago and now I'm in a Spartan war room and they're all looking at me like I'm the intern who brought the wrong scroll. This is the night before the Battle of Thermopylae. Leonidas and his commanders are planning how to stop the Persian Empire which by the way has brought enough soldiers to fill a Costco parking lot. He just told me to prepare for glory.

[00:00:25]Thermopylae is a narrow mountain pass barely wide enough for a few men at a time. Leonidas knows he can't beat the Persians in open terrain so he's turning this pass into a funnel of doom. The Spartans form a phalanx, a wall of shields and spears. The Persians have to attack head-on so their huge numbers don't help much. Losing their numbers advantage. It's simple, brutal and honestly kind of genius. He's reporting there's a hidden goat path behind the cliffs. If the Persians find it, they can flank the entire Greek army.
