Added:We all know what the Earth's core looks like. A big glowing ball of iron in the middle of the planet. But here's the thing. Every image you've ever seen of it is an illustration. So, is that because scientists don't actually know what's down there? Or is there a very good reason for it? Let's see what this flatearther has to say.
[music] Hello all and welcome along to another episode of flat earth Friday with me Simon Dan. Thanks very much for joining me. Before we begin with today's video though, I was reading earlier how SpaceX's Starship test flight 13 was aborted before liftoff and I was reading that story on ground news which was actually founded by a former NASA engineer called Harleen Core who worked on the James Webb Space Telescope. Then on with today's video, which you'll be delighted to hear, comes from CeCe. Chris from New York, Westchester County. He's got a B in his bonnet over the illustrations of the inside of planet Earth. Take it away, CeCe. You know, there's a lot of things I haven't seen before. Um, and there's a lot of things that scientists have never seen before either, but yet were produced. diagrams, illustrations. That's what they call them. They call them illustrations.
You'll see the little fine line on the bottom, you know. Um, you'll see it says this is just an illustration. But the problem is with these illustrations, and they never call them photographs.
They're using these illustrations to show our kids what and how it actually exists. Okay.
Now, Cece is absolutely right about one thing here. They're illustrations, not photographs. And scientists have never claimed otherwise. In fact, they're usually labeled as illustrations. But an illustration isn't just a wild guess because it's not a photo. We use illustrations to represent things we can't always see directly. The key question is whether they're based on evidence. The fact that we have illustrations isn't evidence of deception. It's simply an honest way of visualizing something that we've measured indirectly rather than photographed directly.
>> Let me give you an example. This is this is just an example. Okay, here's example. Um we're told that there are many layers of Earth, but yet everything that I've seen, all the diagrams and illustrations that I have seen are uh fake. They're not real.
Someone drew them.
or a computer made them. Who knows?
Nowadays, you could I you could put a Picasso and and probably pass it off as a real Picasso. Okay. All right. All right. Um anyway, my point is they have diagrams of the Earth.
>> Well, yes, that's what an illustration is. Nobody's claiming that these cross-sections are literal photos of the inside of Earth. They're educational diagrams to show what the evidence suggests is there. And that's an important distinction. An illustration can be completely accurate, completely inaccurate, or somewhere in between.
Whether it was drawn by a person or generated by a computer tells you absolutely nothing about whether the science behind it is correct.
>> Okay, this is the one thing I cannot believe people will at least look at and listen. Okay, just listen. Because this is the tip of the iceberg. Don't you see this? The tip of the iceberg. just this one little thing. But people won't listen, okay? They don't they don't care. They don't look. They don't they don't want to know the truth. I'm convinced now. I think that's what it is. I just think they just don't want to be bothered with the truth and they just want to get on with their lives and and do nothing and and not not say anything. One thing, layers of earth all the way down to the core.
Beautifully depicted. Beautiful pictures, aren't they? We've only dug down eight miles. Eight miles. Okay, that's it. Just because we haven't physically reached the core doesn't mean we don't know anything about it. We can't travel to the center of the sun either. Yet, we know an enormous amount of what's happening inside it. And that's 93 million miles away. The same is true for stars, black holes, and even distant planets. Science doesn't rely solely on direct observation. It combines measurements, experiments, and models to understand things we can't physically visit. So, yes, we've only drilled down about 8 miles. That is true. But that fact alone doesn't mean that every illustration of the inside of Earth is made up. It just means we had to use other methods to figure out what lies beneath our feet.
>> That's it. Oh, and we also have beautiful pictures of the core of Mars, too, right? And how do we how did how do we dig down there? I I know how it was.
Come here. Listen. Listen. This is how they did it. Um one of the Land Rovers that they landed up there. It's nowhere.
There's nothing up there except, you know, some sort of shielding or something. Who knows, you know? I mean, who knows what's up there. But anyway, just a hypothetical situation. Um, so they they one of the Land Rovers or whatever the hell they are, uh, one of the rovers, um, decided to dig down 8 in. That's right. It stuck this little thing 8 in down into the dirt or soil or they say that Mars is made out of. Um, and that's how they decided to come up with the core. That's funny cuz we've done the same thing here. And, and we have a core for you, too.
That's great. Just great, guys. We didn't determine the Earth's interior by drilling down thousands of kilometers, and we didn't determine Mars' interior by drilling down a few centimeters. In both cases, scientists used indirect measurements. On Earth, earthquakes send seismic waves through the planet. Those waves speed up, slow down, bend, and even disappear depending on what they are traveling through. And that gives us a remarkably detailed picture of the layers inside Earth. Now, Mars doesn't have earthquakes on the same scale, but NASA's Insight lander carried on board an incredibly sensitive seismometer, and that has detected hundreds [snorts] of Mars quakes. By analyzing how these seismic waves traveled through the planet, scientists were able to estimate the size and composition of Mars's core.
>> Unbelievable how people just can't just look at that one little thing and say to themselves, "Well, wait a minute.
How do they know all of this? Why? What are they teaching vulcanologists?
H how do you get a degree in vulcanism?
[laughter] What do you do to in order to get this degree to become a vulcanologist?
>> Most vulcanologists don't even have a degree called vulcanology. They usually earn a degree in geology or earth sciences and then specialize through post-graduate research. They spend years studying things like seismic waves, volcanic rocks, magma chemistry, heat flow, and geoysics. All of that to understand what's happening beneath our feet. That right there is where our knowledge comes from.
>> Is Is there actually a volcano? There has to be. There's got to be somebody who's studying these volcanoes, right?
How don't Don't they know? Don't they know all these layers are fake? when they dug down every single layer they dug down, they thought it was this, they thought it was that, and they were wrong every time. Then they got to the barrier.
Okay, which is quite interesting because I don't know how many years they spent doing that, trying to get through that one little thing. It wasn't even our country that did it, but I think I heard somewhere about a month or two ago that we're going to try it again. Good. Good.
And you know what? This is exactly what they say about every disease out there.
They bring it up, they put it out there, and then people forget about it because they got a mind of the gerbble. That's it. They don't care. That's all they They just They needed to hear it. They needed to hear it from the media. Okay.
The deepest bore hole wasn't abandoned because scientists thought we hit some sort of barrier. It was stopped because temperatures reached in excess of 180° C. Far, far hotter than expected, which caused the rock to behave more like plastic than solid rock and caused the drilling equipment to fail. None of that overturned our understanding of Earth's interior. In fact, the seismic evidence which tells us about the mantle and core is completely independent of how deep we've managed to drill. So, the deepest bore hole was not a failed attempt to reach the core. It was a scientific project that taught us a huge amount about the Earth's crust, even though it got nowhere near the center of the planet.
>> All right, so pictures, that's that's all they give us for all the layers of Earth. Okay. Once again, and this is what they're teaching our kids. Doesn't bother anybody about that space. Fake pictures. U pictures. No, illustrations. Sorry, I slipped up there. Okay. It's illustrations. That's all it is. Illustrations.
Yes, that's right. That's all. That's what they are. All of them. Every single one of them. It's a cartoon book. A college book now is a cartoon book.
Especially when it comes down to astronomy and anything science-wise, they are teaching you nothing in college. They are teaching you a thing.
They're teaching you how to obey.
They're they're indoctrinating you. And that's how it's always been.
>> Again, the purpose of an illustration is not to replace evidence. It's to help you understand the evidence. The illustration is simply the picture that helps explain it. So dismissing an idea because it's got an illustration attached to it isn't skepticism. It's confusing the way information is presented with the evidence that supports it. It's just took me a while to figure it out as a flatearther just as it took me a while to figure out that the earth is flat.
It's stationary. It's not moving. It's not going anywhere. There is no space.
It doesn't exist. Okay. I mean, radiation belt. You're telling me that you're sending astronauts, astronauts who are very important military people, by the way. Okay.
Through this radiation belt that goes on for 40, 50 miles. Okay.
They have families.
They're afraid to die. No, I guess they're not. They're very brave, right?
Yeah. So, they come through this radiation belt. highly poisonous. The only thing that can protect you from it, as far as I know, is uh gold, shielding, like a thick lead shielding that weighs God knows how much, you know, and water. All of which we can't get that into space. It's too heavy. Things have to be very light here. Okay.
>> Different types of radiation require different types of shielding. Lead is excellent for blocking X-rays and gamma rays here on Earth. But in space, it's not always the best choice. In fact, when high energy cosmic particles hit heavy metals like lead, they can create secondary radiation, making the problem worse. That's one reason why spacecraft are largely built from lightweight materials like aluminium. With the water, the fuel, and the equipment positioned to provide additional shielding where it's most useful. It's about reducing exposure, not eliminating it entirely. That's exactly how radiation protection works in many areas of science and medicine. Nobody claims that shielding makes radiation disappear completely. The goal is to keep the dose low enough to allow the risk to remain acceptable.
Back and forth, back and forth through the RA radiation belt. Not a single astronaut dies of cancer. Not one.
Not a single one. No problem. Yet there are people here who don't even smoke who get lung cancer. doesn't make any sense, right? It's all right. It's all right.
It's It's fine. It's fine. You know, I mean, >> first, it's simply not true that astronauts have never developed cancer.
Some have. They're human, just like you and me. But more importantly, cancer risk is not determined by a single factor. It depends on age, genetics, lifestyle, environmental exposures, and yes, sometimes radiation doses. The radiation that Apollo astronauts received was measurable but relatively low because they passed through the Van belts quickly and the missions only lasted around a week to 10 days. That doesn't mean the risk was zero. It means the additional risk was small. And comparing astronauts to random members of the public that developed lung cancer is not a meaningful comparison. CC astronauts are among the most healthiest and medically screened people on the planet. If you're trying to determine whether space radiation increases cancer risk, you have to compare them with people of similar age, health, and lifestyle, not the entire population.
