[00:00:02]The office of the Vice President has received a summons sent by the Senate Impeachment Court for the trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

[00:00:10]In a message to reporters on Wednesday, May 20, OVP says it received the summons issued by [music] the Impeachment Court at around 10:40 a.m. This comes 2 days after the Senate approved a motion to issue a writ of summons directing Duterte to answer the allegations stated [music] in the articles of impeachment.

[00:00:28]Under the rules adopted by the Impeachment Court, Duterte has 10 days from the calendar date of receipt of the summons to file her response. If she fails to answer within the period, [music] the Impeachment Court will proceed with trial. Earlier, Duterte's defense team said they would respond accordingly to the summons. The complaints against the Vice President include allegations of betrayal of public trust, graft and corruption, culpable violation of the Constitution, and other high crimes.

[00:00:57]Once Duterte submits her answer, the House prosecution panel will be given 5 days to file a reply.
