Real Lava vs Bulletproof Glass๐ณAdded:
What's good y'all? Welcome back to the fam.
Now today, bro, we got experiment lava versus bulletproof glass [music] by Supercot, bro. It's a pretty old video.
Popped up on my recommendation page.
I've seen other people kind of react to it and then it looks pretty interesting.
I mean, who doesn't want to see lava try to penetrate bulletproof glass? Now, make a guess in the comments below if you guys think it's actually going to penetrate it or if it's going to suffice through it all. I think it's going to absolutely demolish it.
I mean, it is bulletproof, so I'm not sure exactly the mechanics behind bulletproof glass. I feel like we might have watched a video before in the past on it, but I definitely don't remember details. I wouldn't be able to tell you like if it even has a chance. I just feel like lava is just lava, my boy.
Like it is what it is, you know what I'm saying? So, without further ado, let me grab my popcorn and let's see.
God damn.
Okay, wait. One question I have though is how are we just getting lava, bro?
Electric melting furnace? All right, are we just manufacturing it?
You know?
I'm sure bro's not just going in a volcano hunting for some lava, you know?
Regular window glass.
Oh, he's going to test this first, I'm assuming.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Let's see what bro got.
And so, he is kind of manufacturing it.
Bro, why it look like a freaking mini sun in this [ย __ย ] bro? That [ย __ย ] look scary as hell.
I'm not going to lie. I mean, he's obviously wearing protective gloves and stuff, but you also have to wear some goggles and [ย __ย ] too, bro. I'm surprised that he could literally burn your face off.
I'd imagine.
Look, it looks like he's wearing a mask, too. Look at Look, you see the shadow. It looks like he's wearing something.
>> [cough] [clears throat] >> Uh-oh.
Here we go.
Oh, oh, [ย __ย ] Yeah, that's the scary thing about glass. I totally forgot this detail. Is that when glass gets overheated, it literally just shatters.
Like just out of nowhere, too. So, it's kind of scary.
Oh my gosh.
God damn.
That glass stood no chance.
No chance. As soon as it touched, bro.
It maybe lasted like a few seconds.
Maybe look. Boom.
Right from that center right there.
Wow.
That's amazing. Oh my gosh.
Is this another angle or is this different?
Yeah, I think that's just another angle.
That's insane, bro.
You see how it just turned to black right there, too?
Like, bro, what?
I've never seen glass so devastating in my life.
God damn.
Y'all little Timmy, don't try this at home, man.
Don't try this [ย __ย ] bro. Trying to go on Minecraft and then bring it to real life.
That would be pretty cool, not going to lie.
Fire resistant glass. It's a multi-layered glass where the sheets of glass are connected by means of intermediate layers made of fire resistant gel, which expands under high temperature during a fire. When the temperature raises up to 100ยฐ C, aka 212ยฐ F, the gel layers expand forming a hard non-transparent layer, which temporarily prevents fire propagation.
Okay.
That makes sense. I still think it don't stand a chance, though. It says fire resistant, not lava resistant. You know what I'm saying?
It's going to It's definitely going to have a better chance than just uh the glass alone, obviously. But, I still feel like the the lava's going to melt right through it. Or make it crack at some point.
I don't know, though. Let's see. Let's see.
Let's see.
Bro, just imagine being this guy's neighbor. Oh, look, he is wearing like a mask and stuff, bro. Yeah, I would assume you have to wear these protective things. But, just imagine being this guy's neighbor, he's just [ย __ย ] just breaking glasses, using lava every 2 seconds.
I got hell no, bro.
The glass just shatters over your freaking backyard. Oh, wow.
Dude, that's so satisfying.
Isn't it not going to crack through?
No way.
Okay, now it's seeping through. I was about to say, at some point But, it's doing its function though.
Wait a second.
It's literally doing the function that it said it would do.
Wow.
I wonder, is it going to crack though?
Or is it going to just Oh my gosh.
Did the lava lose?
Oh, it did It did crack it.
I was about to say like I felt like this was coming at some point, bro. Like I said, it's fire resistance. Now, this would Man, if the if it lasts with the lava this long, it stands absolutely no chance. Like a regular fire or something, if you lit something on fire and just kind of threw it on there, or for some reason, you know, started fire inside of a a place and has fire resistant glass, like you're low-key chilling, bro.
Uh as long as you walk out, of course.
Damn.
Lava hit at last second buzzer beater.
But, it didn't even It didn't penetrate all the way through though. I mean, it cracked it, you know what I'm saying?
But, you could take this to Apple and get it fixed. Feel me?
Okay.
That's pretty good though, chat. I'm not going to lie.
It withstood the lava like that.
I mean, it's definitely going to work as advertised.
Wow, look at that.
Oh, look at the gel. You see the gel, chat?
That's what it was talking about.
That's actually so cool, bro.
I never seen fire-resistant glass in my life. Have you guys?
Look at the lava.
Like the fact that it even does this to the lava, I mean, that's just great functioning right there. I'm not going to lie.
That would make me so confident that it will stop fires.
Dang.
Like it didn't penetrate all the way through.
That's good.
Car glass, oh.
Oh, I feel like that's so cooked.
Now, car glass, what what exactly is car glass made out of, bro? I'd have to search that up. Car glass is made of a specific type of silica-based soda-lime glass combined with raw materials like soda ash, limestone, dolomite, and recycled glass. Depending on where it's used in the vehicle, these materials may be manufactured into one of the two safety glass types. So, there's laminated glass and tempered glass. So, this is the side and rear windows made by heating standard glass to extreme temperatures and rapidly cooling it.
This process puts the outer surfaces into a state of compression, making it up to five times stronger than normal glass. Like it's not just regular glass, of course. It's a [ย __ย ] car. But yeah, the tempered glass makes sense where it kind of serves a little function similar to the the fire resistant, where, you know, the function of it is to kind of lower the risk of heats literally just blasting right through it and kind of just spreading it, whatever. Whereas a tempered glass, like it says, it puts the outer surfaces into a state of compression, making it stronger than just normal glass and heat resistant and also cold resistant, you know, to let your car be able to survive in super extreme hot conditions and cold conditions. So, that makes sense. It broken and crumbles into small relatively harmless pebble-like granules rather than sharp dangerous shards. It could still be dangerous though, so don't get that for it though. Let's see, Jack.
Let's see how long the car glass holds up.
It'd be a good test, you know, for when I want to just randomly go get some lava from a volcano and just pour it on my car window cuz it's fun.
Okay.
Oh my gosh. [laughter] I was just about to say wow, it's holding up really good.
That [ย __ย ] was just waiting to bust, man.
God damn.
I mean, that's kind of that's what I expected to happen though, Chad.
That was pretty fast though. I thought it was going to last a little bit longer.
Damn, bro. Look how it just freaking lights up in fire. Oh my gosh. Yo, lava is so interesting, bro.
What is What is this flooring that he has? I mean, obviously it has to be [ย __ย ] lava resistant cuz he's just letting it drop on there.
How do you even begin to put this out?
Okay.
Bulletproof glass.
Oh [ย __ย ] let's see.
Look at those layers, bro. Layers on layers on layers.
Wow.
See, what I imagine the bulletproof glass like the function is is like when it when a bullet touches it whatever and how it kind of like dissipates and goes to random places like the shells and stuff. Like I'm assuming it just tries to catch that impact between the first like two to three kind of things and then these last two are just for extra measure in case it does pass through.
But it like kind of tries to just spread the fire thing, you know? That's what I would imagine it works like. Now, I don't know for sure, so don't count me on that.
We're probably looking at a bathroom, but hey, we just know it's bulletproof or it's supposed to be.
Let's see though.
I feel like the lava's going to have a tough time with this, I'm not going to lie.
It had a tough time with the fire resistant one.
So, I'd imagine.
I feel like it's still going to crack it in some sense though.
Okay, here we go.
Here we go.
Oh, [ย __ย ] Yo, it's actually so satisfying to me like how lava just like crumbles up and slowly turns to a darker color. You know what I'm saying? But it looks like it's cooling off, but no, it's just getting extra hot. It's It's doing its function, bro.
I imagine touching that.
Yeah, you're dead.
Getting the worst burns of your life.
Oh, oh, it It cracked a little bit.
It's lava. What do we expect?
Honestly, though.
Hold on now. Damn, that was a big crack.
I was about to say it's not the cracks are not that bad, but they are getting bad.
Oh my gosh.
Yo.
Is it going to break through the first layer?
What the hell?
I think it's going to end up breaking through this first layer.
For sure.
Oh my god, look at how it's freaking boiling, bro.
What the hell?
That's absolutely insane.
Look at that.
Like a whole other organism. Wait. It didn't really break through, though.
It didn't break through completely.
Wow, look at that.
Yo, what?
Bro, it looks like a freaking historical artifact, man. Let me keep that.
I wonder how hard it is in this stage, bro. I mean, if you If you leave this on this table for like 2 3 hours or so, like is it still going to be hot? I would imagine.
Like Like so hot you cannot touch it?
That's crazy. Hey, that works though.
Bulletproof glass.
Glass? The [ย __ย ] is glass? Oh, oh, oh, oh.
We just hitting it?
Damn. Damn.
He testing everything in this [ย __ย ] What the Bro got that from SpongeBob, bro.
Okay, anyways.
Aw, beautiful kitty.
>> [laughter] >> Bro was like, "End this video right now, bro." Yo, W kitty. This was a such a W video, bro. Holy. This was so good. I actually want to do some research on that bulletproof glass though. All right, it works by sandwiching ultra alternating layers of hard It works by sandwiching alternating layers of hard glass and soft transparent plastic like polycarbonate. When a bullet strikes the hard outer glass, it deforms and flattens the projectile. Yeah, see.
While the soft plastic layers absorb the bullet's kinetic energy and cast the fragments, stopping it from penetrating.
That makes sense, bro. You got to have like different types of layers so that it literally stops not only like the impact of the shells or whatever or the bullets and then also absorbing the energy, bro. Because I mean, the [ย __ย ] speed in which a bullet goes, the energy is like the most important part. That's why it's so [ย __ย ] fatal. So, yeah.
That's like the most important thing and then just decimating the bullet in general. So, that's pretty cool, bro.
What do you guys think about this, chat?
Lava kind of lost on this one.
It kind of lost. But, it still broke through bulletproof glass. So, it didn't really lose. I don't know, bro. Lava still on top or the glass on top? You guys let me know and I'll see you guys in the next one, man. Peace.
