In barn roof repair, using proper structural reinforcement techniques such as installing additional nails, adding latting (cross-bracing), and using larger dimensional lumber (2x6s and 2x8s) creates a more durable structure that can withstand environmental stresses like falling trees and ice storms, preventing complete structural failure.

Maverick & Max fix 2 barns @nbconstructonAdded:
So guys, let's go. We're going to show you what we're going to do this week. Me and Max. Let's get to it.
>> Max getting in.
>> First thing we want to do, go get our material. Headed right now to the store lumber yard to get our material. Keep you guys posted.
So, we finally got the material. Got a fuel up. We drove so far to get it.
Let's pump some diesel in this truck and there we go. We got the material all loaded up. We got there at 12:00. Man, this truck's got there at 12:00 and guess what? They took so long to get the material there, but we got it loaded up. I ordered it 2 days ago. It took so long to get it. I I don't know. Sometimes that's how it is at lumber yards. They're so busy booked up, but we got it. I mean, it's two loads, not much materials of two two buildings we're going to rebuild. So, we'll keep you guys posted tomorrow morning when we get started. We were supposed to do it today, but we'll get it done tomorrow. So, man, those numbers add up fast. What is the price of the diesel? Crazy.
That's the important thing. When the diesel goes up, you just got to work harder, make it pay off. That's what I do.
Look at those money going out of my bank. Thanks to you guys, I have enough though to pay for it.
Man, that's that's a lot. I think I'll leave it at that.
Yeah, we full. That's pretty impressive.
I thought it was going to do 200, but I guess diesel's going down a little bit.
I don't know what the price is, but Well, got a full tank right there. 30 gallons. 154. The other time I filled it was 270. So at least was going on.
That's a good thing. So we're just pulling in the lane. I didn't think this was the right place cuz it's signed, but I guess it is. So go back there to the barn.
There's Maverick bringing the material.
We made it. Let's see if we don't get stuck down here now.
So, there's the first one we're going to fix. You see in the ice storm, this all broke down a tree cut on it. So, we'll have that fixed in a couple minutes here. Shouldn't be too hard.
See, we did re we did build this long time ago. And you know the reason it don't go down. See this? It's nailed all those nails. That's what we do. That's the kind of work we do. You see this broke? The 2x4 is a 2x8 broke too. But the nails didn't come out. That's why it didn't go completely down.
>> The side weeded didn't go down. Look.
See where it's a little bit newer.
Here's our trademark. We put these things under it that it's more solid.
And look where weeded. It's perfect. The tree fell on. The whole thing didn't fall down.
>> That's why we do a lot of nails. That's why we put a lot of nails in >> up on the roof here. And you can see what's going on. That's all broken in.
All of that. So, we're going to have to replace this whole side. Won't take us very long. Just pull the metal off and replace everything on this piece here.
About that half right there.
Closing this hole right up. So now I got all the big branches off. We need to do some cleaning up with like a broom and sweep all these leaves off so we can see exactly what we're need to do here. So here we got it just about done. But this broke on me. So you can see I'm getting it all nice and clean, but almost done cleaning it. Check it out now that I got it all clean. You can see there's a hole there and the whole roof dips down there where that other branch was another hole and it's just crooked and broken.
Practically that whole side of the roof is really bad. So, I'm going to take those sheets off and see what's under there. See how we can fix it. It's pretty badly bent and crooked there. So, here we got it all unscrewed and we're going to slide these seats off. See what it looks like under there.
Heat danger.
Just getting the Ling band land banding cut off to replace it with a new one.
Like you saw the See this right here? How the middle rafter is broken right down there? It's cracked. What we're going to do is we're going to cut the ladding off of both of these and then run the new latting on.
Replace that middle beam and the bottom plate right there. It's also broken. So stay tuned as we cut these off.
Getting all planned in right here.
>> That's done.
>> That's why this don't go anywhere. We put a lot of nails in. I don't know what you're doing. Always professional.
>> So here we got it. Just about getting it all framed back together. Getting it all nice and straight. It's looking good.
Got the banding on. Get ready for the metal. Just like that. Have this wrapped up in a couple hours here. So, check it out. We got it all replaced. Got the old ugly metal off. Replaced everything.
It's all solid. Now, we got to put new metal on. Let's get started.
Just like that. See how perfect that is?
That's how you want to do it. There's the third sheet. We're getting it on.
It's looking good.
It's looking really nice.
That's fast.
Cut them all off.
As you can see, I never seen a faster blade than this.
Or maybe it's a solos two. Two about two seconds to cut two 2x4s.
That's a 2x8 ready.
One second.
Oh, this is broken.
One more.
The fastest blade on the market. I think >> that's a straight line right there. Last sheet.
Popping it on.
Right there on right there.
And that's that. Got the corners on, roof on. Just like that. What time is it? 10:30. We're good.
>> All straight. Replaced it all. Really nice. to the next.
>> See you on the next job, guys.
>> See this? We got it all done. Just like that. The whole thing. And solid.
Not going nowhere. We built it harder than it was. Just like that. About 45 minutes. We got it done.
Let's go to the next one. So, this is the next one. We're going to replace a little bit. It's going to rain tonight in the next whole week. So, going to try to get this one done. We'll keep you guys posted as we go. Should be able to get it done in a little bit here.
Getting all cleaned up, getting ready to replace.
Got it all framed up. Max is putting on the metal. Since we're just two guys, I got to hand it up. Got the first sheet on.
Getting it done.
So, we got it all framed back up. Got it all knocked down. All perfectly straight. Everything perfect. And we're putting on metal as you can see. Pulling it up. We'll probably be done in another 40 minutes.
Put the light on.
Yeah.
So, here's a little update on the progress. You see what I'm fixing there?
Right behind me. Getting it all nice, flush with the top there. It was all caved down. I got it all nice. Replaced it all. All perfect. Always perfect.
That's how you want to do it. Look how straight and nice that looks now. I'm getting it replaced real nice. So guys, check it out. Got it almost done. Got two more seats to put on. Maverick's bringing me all the material. It's just a twoman crew. Me and Maverick here and Jack and Gunner, they went on a vacation. So I'm sure they'll keep you guys posted. So stay tuned. We almost got this done. Check it out, guys. We got it totally done. Took us about 45 minutes to an hour. Me and Maverick, we got it. We wrapped it right up. We picked this customer's roof so they don't have water running on their hay or anything in their barn. Stay tuned. So, we're wrapping it up. You seen what it looked like. This is what it looks like now. All done. I think it looks very good. Sturdy, heavy duty. We reinforced it with 2x sixes and 2x8s and stuff. And we're ready to wrap about to wrap this up. So, we got it all wrapped up. We just loaded up, ready to roll quick, real fast. We did both builds. Got it all loaded up. Ready to go. So, guys, we just got back. We got done with the job.
Got painted. Got everything taken care of. Got the red area here. We just got loaded here. And now we're going to go and work on back to house right up the hill right there. We're going to work on the solar system and we'll keep you guys posted. But this is going to be it for this video coming out Friday evening. I mean tonight. So stay tuned guys. Make sure you follow and subscribe.
See you guys.
