my first time cutting grass by myself

[00:00:19]I'm about to get my Bob the Builder on and I am going to cut the grass. I got a new lawn mower. This is from Amazon. It is powered. Like I have to plug it in.

[00:00:35]I have to plug it in. So I got a big extension cord. It's 50 ft. So hopefully that's enough. I have a small yard. So there's one outlet in the front and one in the back. So I'm hoping that 50 ft is enough. Also got some outdoor like safety glasses to protect my eyes. And then this is the lawn mower.

[00:00:57]So, this is it. It's from Black & Decker.

[00:01:01]It's a 3in-1 12 in compact mower. It can mow, trim, and edge your grass.

[00:01:10]Going to open it up.

[00:01:14]It's a Saturday morning. Actually, I'm supposed to get up earlier. It's like 11:55. Um, but it's a Saturday afternoon.

[00:01:30]It's a waste of cardboard. How do I get this out?

[00:01:36]So, this is the bottom of it.

[00:01:51]Okay, there's something else in here.

[00:02:03]I don't know what that is. Uh, one is a handle.

[00:02:14]Maybe that'll be helpful. Who wants to read all this? Where are some clear pictures? What to do? Okay.

[00:02:26]This is more complicated than I imagined. I thought it was just going to thought it'd be more simple. Okay.

[00:02:34]Attaching the guard, which I guess is that other thing.

[00:03:04]These are my safety glasses to go outside. I don't know if I don't know if my ears are crooked or if these are crooked, but I thought these were the kind that would like wrap more and provide more protection. So, I don't know if I'll keep these or not.

[00:03:23]So, I'm going to keep this tag on for now. But, I got some safety glasses uh to protect my eyes while I'm outside.

[00:03:31]And also, because I got all of this hair, I'm going to put on a lock thing.

[00:03:40]whatever you call it, lock sock, lock cap, whatever, sleeve, whatever you want to call it. I'm actually washing my hair after this. So, um, but no, it's still good to wear this because I don't want to be picking grass out of my hair for forever, even if I am washing my hair today.

[00:04:02]So, it's a pretty long lock cap, but cuz it goes down to my butt.

[00:04:18]Let's do this. I got to make my daddy proud. My daddy would have already had all this done. He would have on a Saturday, he gets up and he cuts the grass and he washes all the cars and Yeah.

[00:04:31]He'd be if he wasn't done by now, he'd be close to being done. But I'll get better about getting up on time, especially as it gets hotter. Right now it's 78° outside, which isn't too bad.

[00:04:46]Um, but when it's summertime and it's 90 something degrees, I'm definitely getting up early on a Saturday morning so I don't have to deal with that heat.

[00:04:55]But yeah, let's go outside and use the new lawn mower. All right, y'all. So, I already did the front part of my house. I did that off camera for privacy reasons, but this is my backyard.

[00:05:17]It's very small, admittedly. Um, which is why I was like, I can do this myself.

[00:05:24]Um, so yes, I'm about to Oh, no. My neighbors just let their dog out, so you may hear barking. But yeah, the front part was pretty easy. Um, well, no, actually the front part of my house is a little harder cuz it's on a slope. But the back is flat. The edge of my house is on a slope, so that may be harder. But I'm about to knock this out.

[00:05:51]Um, it is 81 degrees and it is hot, but it's not super humid today. But it's just taught me that like, oh, in the summertime, I can't do this at uh 2:00 p.m. I have been sweating. If you've seen other videos, I am a sweater. I sweat easily. So, uh, and I'm also in all black because almost all of my clothes are black. But, um, yeah. So, I'm going to move this pot or not pot the We're going to plant that tree tomorrow. So, I'm not going to move it, but I am going to move that bag of soil. And then I'm going to cut the grass. And then I'm going to use the edger to edge and trim everything up. So, let's get going.

[00:06:40]I'm watching a dog poop right now, and the wind is blowing.

[00:06:56]Yep. I'm going to move it.

[00:07:00]Oh. Oh, that's heavy. Okay. Nope.

[00:07:06]We're not moving that bag today.

[00:07:09]I need Tina to help me with that. That thing is heavy. Um.

[00:07:18]Let me try again.

[00:07:26]All right. I'm just dragging it.

[00:07:32]Oh my god.

[00:07:34]All right. So, it's pretty easy to use.

[00:07:37]It's basically like vacuuming grass. So, Heat.

[00:08:32]All right, y'all. Um, that's pretty good, I would say. I mean, it's better than before. Um, I'm about to take this off.

[00:09:02]um the the bottom part and then I'm going to edge up all of this and around the edges of the fence.

[00:09:11]Uh then this part will be done. I still got to do the back part near the fence, but I'll do that after I'm done with this. Oh, figured I should show you. So, the way you take it off, all you do is push this down and it just pops off. So, it's pretty easy. Then you flip this. You unlock it.

[00:09:34]Rotate it. Lock it back.

[00:09:41]Then I can do this.

[00:10:51]All right, y'all. So, as you can see, progress has been made. Um, I have a leaf blower and I was trying to uh clean everything up. All the debris, is that the right word for it? I was trying to clean everything up, but it's been so long that I since I've used the leaf blower that uh the battery died like after 1 minute of using it. So, not even a minute, probably like 30 seconds. So, I'll have to It's charging right now.

[00:11:45]I'm going to clean some other stuff up and hopefully it has enough of a charge that I can um clean everything. Sorry, I'm tired. Jesus, I'm tired. Yeah, I'm about to clean up as best as I can. Um then I am really really hungry and I'm about to have a hunger headache. So, I'm going to um eat lunch and then I've been feeling very masculine doing all of this. Uh, so I'm about to try to make myself feel feminine and I'm going to have like a everything shower, wash my hair, do my nails, give myself a pedicure. Like, yeah, I need to balance the feminine with the masculine. Um, yeah. So, I'm about to do that. And that's probably all I'm going to do today cuz it's 3:00. This took me a while because my grass hasn't been cut this year. So, um, it's a lot more grass to cut, but once I start like regularly doing it, sure it won't take me as long.

[00:12:44]And then also that was my first time using that thing. So, um, yeah, I'm really tired. I'm very sweaty and my head is about to start hurting. So, I am going to wrap up the video here.
