Weather forecasting involves analyzing atmospheric systems to predict precipitation patterns and temperature trends, where forecasters track surface low pressure systems that generate showers and thunderstorms, while also considering geographic variations and seasonal conditions that affect rainfall effectiveness and temperature extremes.

Saturday Morning Weekend ForecastAdded:
It's going to turn into a really nice day with just a slight chance for a few showers across Southern Utah, but honestly guys, over the next couple of days those rain chances are not going to amount to much. We're talking a few of those pop-up showers with the potential for some dry thunderstorms in there.
Right now, just a bit of light rain impacting portions of Emery and Carbon.
We're seeing that for Southern Uinta, for Northern Grand as well. Everywhere else just dealing with a few of those high clouds across Southern Utah, mostly sunny throughout Northern Utah.
Temperatures today, we will be making it to about 82, 83 by mid to late afternoon. That surface low that's going to continue to churn out those light showers, that's going to pretty much stay stationary to the southwest of the state. Bringing in a few light showers, potentially reaching all the way to the high Uintas, but staying to the east of I-15 up until mid to late day. Portions of Juab and Emery, pardon me, Juab and Millard, you will be at risk of for some stronger showers. That's going to be the hot spot, the westernmost area of both of those counties. Other than that, smooth sailing to be honest throughout the rest of your Saturday into Sunday. Still a slight chance of from that same storm system, and then a bit of late rain coming in from the Gulf on Monday, spreading throughout the higher terrain throughout that I-15 corridor.
Looking pretty mild for the most part. I know this graphic tends to be a little bit more dramatic, but it's really not going to amount to much. Honestly, our next best chance for any widespread showers across Northern Utah won't come until Wednesday into Thursday. A really nice low that has the potential of bringing in some scattered showers to the area. Wants to stay to the west of us. It doesn't really want to move, and then it's going to break up because that air is so incredibly dry. So, it's going to be bringing in some mountain rain to Nevada, to California. Here at home, maybe just a few light showers. This is through early Tuesday, so our rain chances over the next couple of days won't amount to much. We've been saying this all week long. It just doesn't look like it's going to be substantial for anything to impact for this these systems to impact our drought conditions. We need to have smaller, more consistent, and really we just don't have much rain coming from these storm systems because that air is just so incredibly dry, which is typical for this time of the year, but to help combat the dismal winter that we had, that's what we need. It's just not what we're going to get. Your Memorial Day forecast temperatures are going to eventually make it to the upper 70s, low 80s by about noon, and then mid to upper 80s of four that high. It's going to get toasty. Taking a look at the first week of June, it is showing that yet again we will be trending slightly above average, not nearly as hot as the upper 80s or 90s like what we're dealing with today and tomorrow, but it is still going to be rather warm. Low 80s of four Wednesday across Southern Utah with that storm system dipping down to the upper 70s, low 80s, but not where a trace is expected for St. George from that uh Tuesday, cuz that's what day that is.
Low 80s of four Northern Utah, and then mid to upper 70s Wednesday, Thursday. Mostly sunny skies by Friday, and then we will spend the latter half of next week rebounding quite nicely.
Well, great day to be a great weekend to be working, I guess. Yeah, really is.
>> in it together, so >> Making my job pretty easy.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah. All right, we'll see you in a little bit. Thank you.
