In high-stakes medical environments, professionals must maintain emotional distance from patients to preserve clinical judgment; when healthcare providers become too emotionally close to a situation, their decision-making can become impaired, potentially compromising patient care and outcomes.

The pressure is getting out of control 😱 | 중증외상센터 The Reacting to Trauma Code Ep. 4Added:
[music] >> Yo, what's up, guys? Teacher Paul here, and today we're reacting to June Joins Sun Set Go episode 4, season 1. And if you're watching this on YouTube, you're going to see cut down version, but go over to Patreon or buy me coffee to watch the full episode reaction. Let's go. June Joins Sun Set Go. I'm really enjoying this webtoon adaptation. It's a K-drama, and we're watching episode 4.
And this dude is always running.
He does a lot of cardio.
A lot of cardio.
Oh, he's been in the helicopter many times now.
Very frequently.
Dude, he is becoming his mentor.
Oh, wow.
Dude, he's already more independent now than he was in the first episode. He's getting used TO IT.
UH-OH.
THEY ARE NOT GOING TO SHOW ANYTHING.
OKAY.
>> [laughter] >> OTHERWISE, I would have to use one of these.
>> [clears throat] [laughter] >> You want to work him harder.
Dude, he doesn't have time for anything else.
He was going to give him more work.
Yeah, you have to go to the budget meeting.
That looks delicious what they're eating and drinking.
Is that a yogurt-based drink? Is that Yakult? No, it's not, is it?
>> [laughter] >> Han Yu-Rim Of course he's there. He's very disciplined.
When it comes to these type of events.
Do you want to cheer him?
Yeah, he's a celebrity.
>> [laughter] >> Don't embarrass yourself.
They're best friends.
>> [snorts] >> Ooh, what did he discover?
What did you find out about his past at the Peace Hospital?
This one he attends.
Wow, he is quite arrogant, isn't he?
But yeah, why can't they all just go in?
I think there are designated places, right?
I know, right?
Dang, it's like the airport line. All the VIPs go in first.
Yeah, he's got to fight for his funding.
It feels very political, doesn't it?
Shared equipment. Yeah, that makes sense.
And that's the problem that he pushes everyone away. He needs allies. He needs people to like him.
The hospital director.
30 billion won profit. So, you got to you got to invest.
The funeral home. Wow.
Neurosurgery.
>> [applause] >> What is this? This feels very dystopian.
This feels like they are Dude, number one is the funeral. They're profiting out of out of people's deaths.
That's such a sad thing, and this is a social criticism, as well, I feel. It's such a sad thing. Death is very profitable for them. Wow. And then, the parking garage, because they overprice their parking. People that need help, they have no choice but to go over there and park. And cafeteria, people need to eat. And then, number four is neurosurgery. Dang. That's very interesting. I understand the business side of this, but making it like an award ceremony feels very dystopian. It feels wrong. But then again, they're making it fun for the staff. I understand it, but still, it's it feels wrong. What do you guys think? Let me know IN THE COMMENTS.
>> [applause] >> I MEAN, GOOD JOB.
I'M NOT GOING TO take away his merit.
He's not going to stay quiet. I know it.
Who?
Who did you see? Did you see BTS?
Of course.
Wow, he's unfaithful.
He's single father.
Oh, wait, he is married. He's a good guy. Is that what she's trying to say?
What is she trying to say?
Another traffic accident.
There's a lot of traffic accidents.
Be safe out there, guys. Drive safely.
Do you think there's a lot of drunk driving?
He's such a shy guy.
Fighting.
Trauma surgery.
From the last month only.
412 million won in deficit.
And how many people did he save?
Compare how many people he saved, not how much money he spent. Let's see that comparison.
They're off?
Wow.
>> [laughter] >> That makes sense.
>> [laughter] >> Smart.
Smart. Smart.
It's true. That is so smart. That is so smart because he said we you're saying that the money was for the hospital, the hospital's budget. So now why are you saying that this is only his department's um expenditure, right? Share the money, share the expenditure. That makes sense.
Smart guy.
Yeah, he's keeping his clients alive.
Wow.
Talk to the minister.
>> [laughter] >> He's going to talk to the minister.
Dude, that joke was hilarious. Wow. He wasn't joking.
Wow.
Disrespectful. like it.
Teacher's pet.
Dude, he's going to walk out of that room to go save a save a life. He's going to save a life. I'm telling you, he's going to walk out of that room. He doesn't care.
Is that the minister?
Oh no, wait a second.
Oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh.
So, how does he react to this He is too close to the situation.
>> [screaming] >> Yeah, he's so close. Don't panic.
Oh my gosh, don't panic, man. Don't panic, you're a professional.
What did he hear?
What is he hiding?
Yeah, but his call is to save lives.
Oh my gosh, bro. It's your daughter, man.
He's going to save his daughter, man.
>> [laughter] >> Dude, go after him. He's already running to save your daughter.
What?
>> [panting] >> That's what That's what he's going to do.
That's where he's going.
That's where he is going.
Don't you understand? Don't you understand, man? He was going to save the patient. Doesn't matter if it was your daughter. He was going there already. He doesn't look at Oh my gosh, man.
I'm going to cry in this episode.
Now you're running. You should run more often.
Oh my gosh, man. This is emotional.
>> [screaming] >> I'm not going to cry. Don't worry.
>> [screaming] >> Bro, calm down. You're a professional.
Compose yourself.
>> [gasps] >> He's going to save your daughter, man.
He's going to save your daughter.
Yeah, it's bad.
Wow, the acting. Dang, man.
>> [gasps] [panting] >> Yeah, he got in the way in the elevator already.
>> [sighs] >> He's going to do something to save your daughter.
>> [snorts] >> Yeah, let her see her if if she's about to die.
That's why nurses are important to calm the patients and the families.
Oh my gosh, man.
Oh my gosh.
She's She has internal bleeding. She's bleeding out of her mouth.
I'm not going to cry, guys.
Everything's going to be okay. Dude, you got to save his daughter, man.
This is the moment that he will love you forever or he will hate you forever.
Oh my gosh, man.
The heart rate is going up.
Is she stable?
Oh, man.
You got to keep going.
Oh, no, it flatlined. Got to keep trying, man.
Dude, don't give up on her.
Dude, you can't give up on her.
>> [panting] [gasps] >> What? It's flatlined.
How wait, it's flatlined?
>> [panting] >> Well, he can.
Wait, they tricked us. They they flatlined her, but she's okay.
Yes.
He is close.
Yeah, so that's what I was saying. He's too close to it.
So, let's pause for a second. So, when someone is too close to the situation and they're in this situation that is so vulnerable, as a professional, as a medical professional, emotions can get in the way and it can fog your judgment.
It can really give you brain fog and you don't know what to do. And we saw him acting like that. He didn't know what to do and then he called for his mentor. He was all over the place and then he recomposed, but it does cloud your judgment when you are so close emotionally to a situation like this.
And normally they don't allow you to, you know, to treat the patient that you're too close to.
I almost cried. I did not cry. You're crying, not me.
Calm down. Calm down.
Calm down, bro. Calm down.
Calm down, man.
>> [panting] >> You're professional.
A heart rupture. Wow.
Of course. Yeah, he is a professional.
That's what he is there to do.
AND you think he's going to make a mistake right now?
Do whatever it takes to stop him.
Dude, don't touch him while he's washing.
Are you dumb?
Bring gangster with you.
There isn't time.
Yeah, he is not thinking straight.
>> [panting] >> Give consent for him.
Dude, you're infecting them.
This is so anxiety-inducing.
Dude, your daughter's about to die and you're letting your emotions get in the way of it. Dude, this is a professional and you don't trust your colleagues. You think he has a grudge against you and he would kill your daughter. That's That's that You're not sound. You're not mental You think he would put his career in jeopardy. You think he would go to jail just to get back at you? Dude, calm down. You're You're getting me stressed.
You're getting me agitated. Dude, you are a professional. Calm down, okay?
Calm down. I'm going to calm down, too.
But that gave me goosebumps, man. You're just getting in the way.
If she dies, it's your fault. Give consent, bro.
>> [screaming] >> Yeah, bro.
>> [screaming] >> Finally. And he needed witnesses.
Dude, you have so little trust in him.
Yeah, let him get a second opinion. But guys, CALM DOWN.
YEAH, LET HIM IN. BUT YOU GUYS NEED TO compose yourselves. Let him in. Give him a second opinion.
It breaks my heart. It ruptures my heart TO SEE THIS.
DUDE, HE IS SO FRAGILE.
FOCUS, MAN. FOCUS.
>> [screaming] >> YEAH, he saw it. It's a rupture.
Oh my days, man.
He's literally He literally has her heart in his hand.
Hurry up, man.
Dude, block it, man.
What is he going to do?
He's going to use plastic? He's going to use a glove?
I blame the father.
I understand how passionate the father is. He loves his daughter, but he needs to trust the professionals in his hospital.
Yeah.
Leave him unconscious. Don't try to wake him up.
I've never heard about that. Can you do that?
This was so emotional, guys. It was an emotional roller coaster. I was holding back tears.
Yeah, of course, they will remove it.
This is just a temporary solution until the heart can heal itself a little bit, right? And he's just gaining time.
Run.
Run.
Why is she not running?
He's running.
He's running. Now he trusts him. Gosh, what an emotional What an emotional episode. I don't I don't think I'm going to hold back tears until the end of the episode. Comment right now, do you think Paul is going to cry or not?
Oh my gosh, man.
I didn't know that was possible either, because I'm not a doctor or a surgeon.
It's perfect. Wow, amazing.
She's stable.
She's alive. Yes, you almost killed her though.
Oh man, you almost killed her.
>> [snorts] >> Now do you understand?
Did you say thank you?
Say thank you, bro.
He only did his job.
It can happen to anyone. What a great lesson.
I hope the director of the hospital is watching this.
Makes me want to cry, man.
Oh, his nickname is back. Oh, I thought you were calling me.
>> [laughter] >> He also has the same nickname.
Everybody together.
>> Everybody together.
>> [laughter] >> He's going to open it for him.
Not for that.
>> [laughter] >> Unfamiliar voices. If she didn't want to wake up to see her dad, man. She's like, "Oh, no, [music] let me sleep a little bit more."
Get off my back. That's why.
There are plenty of ways.
You're in debt to him now.
I hope they become friends. They are very good professionals, but they are from different breeds.
He's a good man. He's a good father.
What do you have against me?
What stories? Yeah, I want to know.
This is a very popular restaurant.
Yeah, he was in the war.
Oh, what?
Yeah, he was a soldier.
Black Wings.
He is not a murderer. He was a soldier.
>> Of course he did.
>> [laughter] >> He's going to play into it.
What you don't know can't hurt What you don't know can't hurt you.
Okay, now you must be afraid here. You must respect him and be afraid, too.
>> [laughter] >> It's not It's not a one finger, it's two fingers.
>> [laughter] >> Wait, do you think Do you think he's going to start thinking maybe he planned this? Maybe he got my my daughter into an accident so that he could plan all of this. Do you think he's going to be that delusional or no?
It's an emotional place to work.
>> [laughter] >> He's crying more than she is. Bless them.
>> [laughter] >> That's why I didn't want to cry.
>> [laughter] >> I did not want to cry because I I I I didn't want her to die.
He's going on TV?
So much.
Thank you so PR.
He didn't want to be on TV.
He don't want What is he going to say?
He's going to say something controversial, isn't he?
That's why he wanted it to be live.
No cuts.
A doctor should always answer his phone.
Let him listen.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, no. Now he's going to be the villain.
>> [snorts] >> He's going to be the villain now.
Oh, it's him.
The black wings.
Look at the tattoo on his eye on his arm.
He hasn't seen the tattoo yet.
They're going to fly again.
Finally, he sees the tattoo.
He's like, "Huh? Huh? Ah, makes sense."
He's going to find out that he is a soldier.
On call for life, Afghanistan.
It was him.
They're all going to find out about Black Wings.
Of course he knows Black Wings.
How does he maintain in shape though? He he should go to the gym, right?
We're going to find out who the Black Wings is on the next episode. That is so cool, guys. I am really enjoying this and I feel like this is such a great adaptation of a webtoon. I haven't read webtoons before, but that's something that um I'm willing to check out if you guys would like me to see as well and get into that as well. But the adaptations and not only the trauma code, but anything else that you want me to check out an adaptation of Manhwa which for which I'm watching is Solo Leveling for example, let me know in the comments down below. But he finally found out that the doctor was in Afghanistan and now he found out the name Black Wings. So we're going to find out what is the connection between Black Wings and this doctor. And I think we know he is a soldier, he's not an assassin or or anything, but he is a soldier and he is a medical soldier, I think. And that's where he got the the the financials from, I think. He got good money doing what he did in Afghanistan. But anyways, thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed this. We're going to go to the next episode.
Kamsahamnida. Take care. Bye-bye.
