Fast-Paced Thriller Books You Can Binge In A DayAdded:
Let's face it, you cannot be reading a fast-paced thriller book. We are talking short punchy chapters, high levels of tension, and addictive storytelling. So, in today's video, I have for you eight fast-paced thriller books which I can guarantee that you'll be able to binge in a day. And of course, I'm going to be that incredibly annoying person and save my favorite book of the eight until the very end. Emery's crime here, your fellow crime, thriller, and mystery book lover. Welcome to my YouTube channel.
I couldn't not include a Freida McFadden book in this video. So, to start off, I'm going to recommend to you Never Lie.
Main characters Tricia and Ethan are on their way to look at their potential dream home. This house previously belonged to a psychiatrist, Dr. Hale.
When arriving at the home, they encounter terrible weather and end up having to stay in this house. Tricia comes across some tapes which belong to Dr. Hale. And these tapes are of Dr. Hale and patients of hers. While they're in this house, Tricia is convinced that her and Ethan are not alone. Freida McFadden is the queen of fast-paced thriller books, and her books are so bingeable. What I particularly liked about this, first of all, was the atmosphere. I loved the snowy setting, and I loved the fact that the main characters are trapped in a home. I was also convinced that I had guessed the plot twist in this, but I couldn't have been more wrong. This is definitely one of my favorite Freida books, and one I would definitely recommend that you check out if you haven't read it already. I recently read One of Us Is Dead by Jennifer Rowe, and I thought that the writing in this was so addictive, and I binged it so quickly.
The story follows a group of extremely toxic women who all are very affluent.
All we know is that one of them is dead.
However, we don't know who is dead or who is responsible for their murder.
Rich people drama is one of my favorite tropes, and this book ticks a lot of boxes for me. The writing style with the short-paced chapters, often ending on cliffhangers, making you want more, actually kind of reminded me a little bit of Freida McFadden. Was this a literary masterpiece? No. But did I absolutely eat it up and thoroughly enjoy it? Yes. I hear that The Perfect Marriage by this author is brilliant.
Have you read it? Should I check it out?
Let me know in the comments. Another author whose writing I think is so bingeable is John Marrs, and I don't see people recommend Keep It in the Family enough. Of his standard normal thriller books, this is definitely my favorite of the ones I've read so far. Main characters Mia and Finn are busy renovating a house into their dream home. While doing works on the house, they come across a sinister message scored into the skirting board. The message says, "I will save them from the attic." So, obviously, they go up to the attic to have a look. And while up there, they come across an unimaginable horror. Again, I absolutely devoured this one. It was so twisty and unpredictable. It was also quite a dark book, too, and I don't know about you, but personally, I find the darker the book, the better. Something a little bit obscure which I really appreciated and enjoyed is the fact that Caroline Mitchell, one of my favorite authors, is mentioned briefly in the story. And of course, I can't go without mentioning the legendary chapter, which is chapter 39. If you know, you know. And if you don't know, get to know. In The Business Trip by Jessie Q Stephanie and Jasmine are on the same flight. And they are both on this flight for two completely separate reasons. Stephanie is flying on her way to a business event, and Jasmine is fleeing from her abusive partner.
However, they both end up sending their friends an identical message. They then begin to behave completely out of character, getting people worried. This book started off so strong, and I will caveat this by saying that I thought the first half of the book was better than the second half, but I did enjoy the second half, too. When I got to about the midway point of the book, the story went in a direction that I wasn't expecting it to whatsoever. And that certainly kept me on my toes and made it so bingeable. The writing was just really easy to read, which always makes a story so addictive and bingeable. And of course, there were some great twists thrown into the mix. That's Not My Name by Megan Lally has been blowing up all over social media for the past few years, and I personally think it's been blowing up for good reason. In this story, we follow two points of views.
The first is of a teen who wakes up on the side of the road, who has no idea who she is or how she got there. The second point of view follows a teen boy whose girlfriend has gone missing, and he is the number one suspect. However, he claims that he is innocent and is desperate to find her or find what has happened to her. This is classed as a YA thriller book, and I do think as a rule, YA thriller books are very easy and very bingeable, and you can tend to read them very easily in a day. And this book, despite the subject matter, was no exception to the rule. Again, it was so easy to read. Sometimes, I can find YA books a bit juvenile given their intended audience, but I did not get that from this book at all. Despite the fact that the main characters are teens, they didn't read like they were teenagers at all. The characters, given their age, were very mature. I did guess the twist for this book, but apart from that, I really enjoyed it. It was very bingeable, and you can very easily read it in a day. I only have three more books left to go. If you have made it this far into the video, then thank you ever so much. If you're not already doing so, and like to hit that subscribe button, it would mean so, so much to me.
As well as being on BookTube, you can also find me on Instagram and on TikTok, both the same handle @emeryscrime, if you're liking what you're seeing, but would like a different style content from me. The Crucifix Killer by Chris Carter is book one in the Robert Hunter series. Out of the eight books in this video, this book is definitely the longest, but don't let the length put you off. All his books in the Robert Hunter series can be read as standalones, and all of them, I personally think, can be binged in a day, but I just thought I'd mention the Crucifix Killer because it is book one in the series. The body of a young woman has been found brutally murdered. And on the nape of her neck, a strange double cross symbol has been carved. This is the work of the notorious serial killer, the Crucifix Killer. However, the Crucifix Killer was caught and sentenced to death two years ago. So, obviously, it is up to Detective Robert Hunter and his partner, Garcia, to investigate. The books in the Robert Hunter series are not for the faint of heart. They are very dark, very gory, and very graphic.
However, as depicted on the front cover, it is as bingeable as a TV box set. The chapters are mega short, and they quite often end on a cliffhanger, which just leaves you wanting more and more. It's a case of just one more chapter. Okay, just one more chapter. And suddenly, you've binged loads of the book. And to be honest, any of the books in the Robert Hunter series, I think you can binge in a day very easily. He has a standalone thriller book coming out later this year called Hide and Seek. I am so excited to read it to see if the writing style is similar to the Robert Hunter series. I cannot get enough of the tradwife trope at the moment, and The Tradwife Secret by Liv Constantine was the first book I read following this trope, and it was so addictive. I actually did the audiobook of this, and I thought that the narrator did a really good job. Main character, Madison March, she's a tradwife, given the book title, but also, she's a major successful influencer. She showcases her perfect home, her gorgeous family, and her baking things like sourdough from scratch. Her character kind of gave off Nora Smith vibes, if you're familiar with her. She hires Callie to be a tutor for her children. And when Callie arrives, she very quickly realizes that the life that Madison portrays online couldn't be further from the truth. The book gave off vibes of rich people behaving badly. However, obviously, it's a rich influencer tradwife behaving badly. If you watch and enjoy The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on telly, then this is a book I really recommend that you check out. The characters in this were all unlikable, but in a good way.
Their unlikability really added to the enjoyment of the story. I absolutely inhaled it, and I don't understand why the Goodreads rating for this is so low.
This is your sign that Goodreads ratings don't depict your enjoyment of a book.
The Last Party by A. R. Torre, we follow Perla, who is the most unhinged female main character I have ever come across in a book. If you see me talk about this book before, that is all I'm going to tell you, because I think that this book is best gone into it completely blind.
This book is seriously dark and seriously disturbing in a way that I just can't describe. It wasn't overly graphic in the description, yet the author was able to portray the horrors which go on really well, if that makes any sense at all. It is safe to say I have never read a book like this before in my life. Along with the writing style being so addictive, what makes this book so easy to devour in a day is just the fact that main character, Perla, is bonkers in a terrible way. Obviously, this video has focused on fast-paced thriller books so addictive you want to cancel your plans to read them, so I'll link that here. And I will also link my previous video here if you've not had chance to check it out yet. Thank you ever so much for taking your time to watch this video. What is a thriller book which you binged in a day? Let me know what you think in the comments.
Thank you. Bye.
