Equating historical facts with modern political grievances undermines the very foundation of objective education. Teachers must prioritize the integrity of the past over the subjective discomfort of the present.

Teachers union seeks guidance on Holocaust lessons, claims it is ‘difficult’ to teach
Added:I just want to go on to this other issue related to anti-Semitism and all these horrible issues we're dealing with this in in this country and and it goes to education and this report that the teachers union is looking for guidance when it comes to Holocaust lessons.
They're saying it's difficult too difficult to teach kids about the Holocaust because they have kids who are opposing Israel and and rejecting these lessons in the classroom. Lisa, this is the whole point. You've got to teach them the facts.
>> Yeah, it's not an opt-in or an opt-out of what you want to teach out of the national curriculum. So, these teachers should not be allowed to say, "Well, look, you know, I feel uncomfortable doing this and I don't want uh my uh Muslim students learning anything about the Holocaust because, my goodness, it may offend them."
>> It's another way that the anti-Israel hatred and ignorance of the street protesters is finding its way into actually polluting the minds of our kids in the classroom. Before I come to you, Stephen, I just want to show everyone Johannes Leak's cartoon from The Australian this morning on this very issue. Brilliant as usual. There he's got the teacher at the top of the class explaining why they can't do Anne Frank, The Diary of Anne Frank. And of course, the teacher's head has been lopped off.
A grim but telling cartoon, Stephen.
This is just shocking.
>> Yeah, it absolutely is. I railed against this this on my program this morning and I made the point that the only people who should be offended by classes on the Holocaust are Jewish kids whose grandparents or great grandparents might have been caught up in it. We should all be offended by the Holocaust. That's the whole point of why we need to teach this and why we can't ever forget. And if there's anyone that feels uncomfortable being taught about history, well, they need to be told to sit down, shut up, and listen to the teacher because history needs to be taught as it always has and that is the facts, actuality.
This is what happened from reliable sources. These were the precursors to why the Nazis murdered 6 million Jews and this is why we can't let it happen again. If we can't teach that, if teachers don't have the courage to teach that, then they're probably in the wrong profession.
>> Yeah, spot on. Well said. Now, let me go to some vision from uh Northern New South Wales now of what the police have done to illegal e-bikes.
Now, Lisa, this is extraordinary. I mean, if they're [snorts] illegal, fine people or take them off the streets, but can't you tune them down or something and give them to someone who needs them or sell them? Why do you have to smash them up?
>> I remember the days when they take the hoons' cars, right? And then smash them up, and that was their big show.
>> Same deal. They do What? They're doing that to crush the spirits of the hoons.
Why not uh de-hoon the cars and make use of them?
>> Or maybe put some age limits around the kids that can actually ride these things. That would be a good start.
Queensland is doing that, but New South Wales, no, let's just uh >> Yeah, Queensland's looking at just stronger laws on this. It is a real problem, Stephen. These bikes are racing around the on the streets and on the footpaths at uh ridiculous speeds, and of course kids with no licenses, no registration.
>> Well, we had three clowns rampaging through a shopping center here over the weekend doing burnouts on the tiles and and aiming at old people and people with prams. I think they should ban them all together. I applaud the New South Wales government for doing this, but I would say that illegal e-bike is an oxymoron.
Smash the lot of them.
>> [laughter] >> Now, I I got to let you have a bit of a say on the World Cup, Stephen. I know you're big on soccer, or as you prefer to call it football. But, tell me about this Australian coach. He's got two guys who score absolutely world-class goals in the first game, and he starts them on the bench. How can you come up with some sort of nonsense to justify that?
>> [snorts] >> Look, Chris, as I tried to say to you on social media last week, it's a little bit more nuanced than that kick chasey game that you follow, but I understand I understand what his strategy was. I don't agree with it, but what he was thinking was bring those players on in the second half, try and defend in the first half, and then bring them on in the second half with a bit of impact.
>> Come on, Lisa. It doesn't make any sense, does it, Lisa? You have your best weapons on the field, don't you?
>> Well, you should. Look, all I know about the Socceroos is that Albanese has told me today it's on at 12:00 tomorrow, and no doubt he'll be watching.
>> Friday, I think.
>> Friday, Friday.
>> 12:00 and now Albo's going to watch it, yeah.
Thanks for joining us, guys. I appreciate it. Lisa got a and Stephen said it's a tie for now.
