Cheyenne Bryant may be facing a lawsuit from her book publisher, Hay House, over her fraudulent PhDAdded:
What's going on, aces? Welcome back to the channel. Hope that everybody is enjoying their weekend and this beautiful weather. It's in the 80s. Sun is shining. It is gorgeous, y'all.
Listen, I wanted to bring you a quick update on this situation with Cheyenne Bryant. Because now, you know, telling a lie to the public is one thing. However, her book publishers, Hey House Books, are reportedly they have a um a a place where you can file a claim if you want a refund from her book. She got an advance on this publishing deal. So, this may be grounds for a lawsuit, which is unfortunate. I just, you know, and the whole situation is really annoying because the more I dig, the more I find out, you know, this rabbit hole goes deeper and deeper. Like supposedly she's saying that she has three doctorate degrees and and it's it's doctorate or do doctoral, right? Not doctoral. There's there's no I there's no I in doctorate or doctoral.
Okay. Um, but in this age of, you know, anti-intellectualism and artificial intelligence, it is really important that people uh, you know, that their degrees are validated.
That's why we have accreditation bodies, okay? U and they will come to see if you are really you know teaching what you're supposed to your curriculum aligns with the state and federal levels etc etc okay and those things are important because especially in a situation of you know let's say like Jackie O you guys remember her if not I did a video about her a while back um she was on wall and now and she went to a um a plastic surgeon to get a mommy makeover, right? Which is like the lipo suction, the Brazilian, you know, buttlft, all these medical procedures. And this man was not board certified. She lost her life. She lost her life. Degrees mean something. I know right now the secretary of health and human services, you know, he he proudly announces that he does booger sugar off of toilet seats and, you know, swims in raw sew sewage.
And you know, our department of of education secretary um seems to have a contempt for education and is currently trying to dismantle everything that those uh that came before her, you know, constructed, right? They're no longer teaching cursive, I'm hearing, in the schools, which is unfortunate because that's what our constitution is written in, right? These things these things are important. people don't, you know, um, seem to realize that, you know, being able to think critically and being able to defend, uh, you know, your credentials is important. So, here's um, and shout out to the attorney Simone for this, but here's the the claim, right? So they have it um Hey House Books and they say that you know if you want a dispute or if you want a refund from Cheyenne Bryant's book to fill it out. So again Simone, you know, attorney Simone is saying that this is grounds for a lawsuit. I'm not a lawyer. Um I am a PhD student though and it's it's before you know it was just slightly annoying but now the more I dig the more I'm like okay this is beyond annoying because you know being a woman especially a black woman especially a black woman in 2026 people will try to invalidate every single thing that you say you know what I mean and black women we navigate not only racism but sexism almost on a daily basis. And so we, you know, in order to remain relatively safe, we have to be strategic. And it's unfortunate because, you know, black people, we are not a monolith. However, people would use any excuse to try to invalidate, you know, a black woman's intelligence like they do to, you know, Supreme Court Justice Gati Brown or like they did to former Harvard President um Dr. Gray, right? just, you know, saying that she plagiarized her her dissertation and and I'm like, listen, for, you know, Cheyenne Bryant to say that, like I said, and I'm hoping that the whole three doctorate degrees, maybe I'm hoping that whoever heard that, maybe they, you know, conflated that with three degrees, right? Because three degrees is typical, a bachelor's, a masters, and and a PhD, right? I'm hoping that they, you know, possibly got that wrong. But if she does have three, cuz my my minor adviser has two, he has two PhDs, one from Germany and one from here in the US. Um, if she does have three, she needs to break out at least one of them because otherwise her book publishers are going to sue her on the basis of fraud. If you say you have, you know, the expertise and the the terminal degree of a doctor and you're practicing under the name Dr. Cheyenne Bryant and people are buying your book based on that context within that framework and and you don't you can't produce those transcript. I'm going start asking my doctors for their transcripts cuz I have mine.
Okay. But yeah, that's grounds for a lawsuit. And it's just again, like I said, it goes so much deeper than, you know, I mean, at this point, I'm like, she should have just said she had an honorary doctorate like so many other entertainers do, you know, like I just, you know, because if you were saying, and this is she she did the trademark of of Dr. Bryant back in 2018, so she has a registered trademark. And if again, if my last name was Bryant and I actually earned a PhD or an MD and I wanted to use that and couldn't because it's already trademarked from somebody who did not put in that, you know, that that time and that dedication and that effort cuz the coursework is ridiculous, right? It's ridiculously hard, okay? Cuz I I not only had to take quantitative stats one statistics, I had to take qualitative statistics one and two, okay? both levels, intro and advance, quant one and two, both levels. I had to do test design, I had to do research methodology, I had to do and that's just like the the base level baseline level courses regardless of your um you know your specialization, right? And so um I'm not going to run down my entire transcript list. I don't want to bore you guys. But just saying those things are not easy. Okay. And if somebody were to ask me, you know, um what a fivepoint liyker scale or a sevenpoint liyker scale is, I would be able to tell them. And they're used really often, right? Those those um tests where they say, you know, never, always, sometimes, you know, those are likered scales. And the reason why they're used so well is because they're both valid and reliable test instruments, right?
If she can't say that, if she can't relay that back to me, I would be giving her the side act like for her to say, you know, um, she would say, I don't have to prove, right? I don't have to prove my degrees. I don't have to prove my level of expertise in any doctorate program that you are in. That's all you do.
You have to prove that you have a bachelor's or a master's degree, right?
You have to prove that foundation of education before they even accept you.
Once they accept you, you have to prove that you can understand, you know, this coursework and learn new skills. Then once you finish that, you have to prove that you you can produce, right? Cuz again, you're moving from a consumer of knowledge to a producer of knowledge. So you have to literally pass a what?
Dissertation defense. You're literally defending your body of work in front of your chair and anybody who wants to come. Most of the time they're open to the public cuz I've been to a couple um dissertation defenses and they can have anybody from any any department ask you questions to defend your dissertation. Now, I didn't do that. I was, you know, largely quiet and I was, you know, a beginning grad student soaking it all in. But you literally have to pass a dissertation defense in order to in order to to call yourself doctor most of the time. And I mean, I've heard of people, you know, throwing up and, you know, having all kind of passing out, all kind of heeie-jeebies and whatnot, right? I got to put on the whole armor of God when I go into mine.
But nevertheless, that's what a dissertation defense is. You are defending your body of work, right? to your to your ch not only your chair but your committee. Okay. Before they can confer your degree and call you doctor now and uh you know I just I don't understand. I mean and then again being a woman and a black woman that's all you're going to do is defend your argument, your contention on X, Y, and Z. That's what you do. like her bringing God into it saying, you know, well, I I only have to, you know, um have my degree between me and God and it's only God. God, the Bible, it says study to show yourself approved.
Christianity does not work unless you read the book. You have to read the book. Okay? And in many cases through throughout the Bible, several people, okay, especially in the Old Testament, right, they would be educated.
There's a process to this. Jesus, even himself, right, being the son of God, being perfect, he studied. He was a carpenter. Okay? And he did 30 years before he spent three years, his last three years on this earth actually performing the miracles and carrying out his ministry. But 30 years he spent in preparation.
That wasn't for him. That was for us to follow in that example. So there's levels to this. And for her to, you know, say, "Oh, well, you know, it's only between me and God." And it's like, no, the Lord, he wants us to do everything decently and in order. Stop bringing God into the foolishness.
There's no way that that you having a fraudulent claim is godly or godlike. It doesn't work like that. Like I I don't like when people, you know, and I I've had friends and you know, family members, oh, doctor, so doctor, doctor, and I'm like, when I graduate, I'll let you know because what y'all not going to do is say that I was making up my degree. You can see my transcripts and I can tell you all about my dissertation, you know.
Now, most of the time, most people will not read it, but once I do finish it and I write it out, you know, I will publish it for the world to see. But it's just like, girl, that's all we do is defend it. You have to actually defend your body of work before they can confer your degree. And again, most people don't know that unless you go through the process. And she's counting on people's ignorance. But her book publishers are like, "You going to have to run that advance back or something because otherwise that's fraud and they can absolutely sue you for that. She gonna have to do something. I don't know. But she going I don't know if she going to flip it to it was an honorary degree, it's a brand name or what the case may be. But please stop, you know, y'all please if you don't or again like I said an honorary degree, I don't know. But if you don't have the credentials, rest in peace, Jackie O. Please don't lie cuz people, you know, have lost their life.
And again, don't look at the current people in charge because they don't know what they're talking about half the time either, right? It's unfortunate that we have the Hivirus, the Ebola, and all these other outbreaks going on with RFK Jr. in the um in the secretary position, but talk to your doctor, you know, do research yourself. Google Scholar is is a really good not just Google, but Google Scholar, okay, um is a really good resource, right? But use those empirical resources. Use the triangulation. And that's biblical too, right? Where two or three witnesses are gathered. They say that in the Old Testament, too. And it's like you need multiple sources in order to confirm your original test hypothesis. Anyway, I don't want this to be too too too scholarly of a video, but I'm saying this to say if she had the credentials, she would be able to explain them. she would be able to defend them. She would not defend her premise. That's what you do as a PhD.
And it's unfortunate that, you know, she doesn't know that. But her book publisher, they're going to know.
Listen, she she don't have to, you know, she doesn't have to prove it to us. But, uh, Louise Haye, who is the founder of Hey Books, uh, or Hay House Books or somebody, whoever runs, you know, the department, whoever gave her that advance, she's going to have to prove her credentials to somebody because, like I said, it's one thing to tell a lie to the public or the internet. It's a whole other situation when somebody has given you an advance based on the context or the premise, the false premise, right, that you do, you do have a doctorate in psychology. Again, Dr. Umar is a mess and a half, but his dissertation is public.
He been collecting on the building fund for that school since I don't know how long. Ain't put a do on the building.
Shout out to Steve Harvey, right? Uh that's another thing PhDs do. We give credit where credit's due. Dr. Umar is a mess and a half talking about donations, donations, and gifts.
ain't put a door knob on the school building, but he does have a doctorate.
He has a doctorate in psychology and his dissertation is out there for the world to read. So does Shaquille O'Neal. It's like, baby, you you know, it's blood, sweat, and tears out here. Them PhDs ain't no joke. So, I get it when people get upset. You know, it's almost like almost as bad as like the Greek system cuz it is hazing, too. It's academic hazing. I didn't know that before I started it. But Greeks get really upset when you lie and say you went through this process um and you didn't. So, a lot of PhDs on my timeline are upset because she's claiming that she went through this process and she didn't.
Okay, y'all let me know your thoughts.
Anyway, go join this beautiful son. I'll talk to you later, aces. Bye.
