[00:00:03]Thanks for tuning in [music] to weather AM. Temperatures are the big story across the country today. Hot in the prairies, seasonal in Ontario and BC, but then Atlantic, you're drawing the short end of the stick with cool conditions along with some showers. Here's a look at those daytime highs this afternoon.

[00:00:26]single digits and that low spinning around near Cape Breton into parts of PEI and Nova Scotia and also the southern shores of New Finland. That'll take you into the weekend with some gray skies. Out in Quebec, we're dealing with wet conditions as well with another system. This one diving in from the north. That's why those temperatures are on the cooler side as well. Still into the upper teens across the eastern townships. Here's that system rolling in through the morning hours approaching the St. Lawrence River during the afternoon. That's when you're in the thick of it across the eastern townships. Maybe even an odd rumble of thunder or two near Montreal. And then through the overnight hours, that system will gradually start to dissipate as it works its way further south. Down across southern Ontario, we're talking about warm and breezy conditions with temperatures climbing nicely through southwestern regions. But over in Ottawa, Cornwall, and Kingston, that's where you might see a couple sprinkles of rain up in northern Ontario. Sunny conditions and even hot up in the northwest near Lake of the Woods, Canora, Dryden, Fort Francis, climbing into that 30°ree range. A little bit cooler and windy across the nickel belt, but at least it's sunny. Now on the prairies, it is just plain hot. We're talking about daytime highs in the 30s.

[00:01:56]That heat centered over Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

[00:02:00]And those winds a little bit breezy, not going to help with the fire situation across central Saskatchewan. And then we have also some thunderstorm activity.

[00:02:10]Yellow areas, that's where you have the risk for non- severe storms. But those orange areas through northern Alberta, southwestern Saskatchewan, that's where you could see potential for some severe storms. Up through the north, we're going to see that activity bubble up in the afternoon, peaking during the evening and then diminishing as we head into the overnight hours. Down south, it's going to take a little bit later for those storms to initiate, but by early evening, we should see that activity bubbling up across the southern regions. So, scattered to begin with, but then as we push into the overnight hours, that's when it really starts to get its act together. And right along that Highway One quarter, we could see numerous storms developing across parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan. And then by Saturday morning, that's when the storms finally lose their steam. Out across Manitoba, some isolated showers are possible during the afternoon, diminishing into the evening. And then into the weekend, it's going to get quite wet across the region as that heat wave breaks down. Over in BC, unsettled conditions as well. especially down across the southern interior regions where 20 to 30 millimeters of rain is on the way. Those showers more numerous through the early afternoon and then as we push into the evening, they start to lose a bit of steam across the northern regions, Veil Mount up to Fort St. John, you're in line for some of those heavier rainfall amounts. And then last but not least, up in the territories, we're looking at mostly sunny conditions. Fort Smith going for a high of 29 degrees.

[00:03:46]But on the McKenzie River Valley, we're seeing some rain shower activity through the day. And then through the overnight hours, we're going to see that system from Alberta push into the Great Slave Lake region with some heavy showers and thunderstorms.
