And as always, same day service guaranteed or the visit is free. Well, thanks for checking in with your evening weather update. Sure. Hope you had a great day today. It was a warm one. We topped out at 79 degrees here in Knoxville, 80° in Chattanooga, 78 in Tri Cities, and a whopping 72 in Cumberland County. Let's talk about the risk level because remember we've been talking about the risk for strong and severe thunderstorms. Storm prediction center has issued that level one risk. So no changes there. Severe weather outlook, no changes there. Big hail outlook, the changes, they've really shrunk it back to our south and southwest. So that's good news for us. The tornado threat still hanging on south of Interstate 40.
So we still have a potential for an isolated spin up or two. Don't be concerned about that. I think what we need to be a little bit more concerned about is damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall that could lead to some localized flooding and flash flooding concerns. So, let's pick up our timeline. Wednesday morning, we're going to see some showers through the overnight hours. Here comes our storm system. It's going to be bringing us increasing rain chances for the first half of our Wednesday. Second half of our Wednesday, not nearly as much. Maybe a few spotty showers and thunderstorms.
And then as we get into the evening hours, here's 7:00 dinnertime rush hour.
You got baseball practices, soccer practices, likely not to happen Wednesday night. That round of rain moves its way on out. We'll see some scattered rain showers Wednesday night into Thursday morning and then that zips its way on out and then we'll be done with the rain, but it is going to potentially bring us some very beneficial rainfall and we desperately need that. Let's talk about our futurecast rotation. I showed you this this morning. If you happen to check in this morning, we we noticed that there was a few more lines of possible or potential rotation that has shifted further to our south. So, that's good news. Okay. So, while we do have a chance for some isolated rotating supercell thunderstorms, most of those are probably going to be Chattanooga southward. Rainfall amounts, well, a lot of rain is on the way. And now, this is going to shift back and forth. Of course, it's a forecast, right? But the potential or the idea is anyway is that we've got a lot of rainfall that could lead to some localized flooding and flash flooding concerns. Now, we start the morning off on Wednesday in the 60s.
We'll see those winds sticking with us and then fade away as we get closer to sundown and shortly thereafter. So, it is going to be a rather breezy and gusty day. Temperature- wise, not bad. Average temperatures, we're going to have mostly cloudy skies, some scattered rain showers, and temps will be in the 70s.
So, rain showers fade away as we get into our Thursday. Well, not really not expecting a lot of rainfall all the way through Saturday, then those rain showers ramp up Saturday, Sunday, and Monday as another disturbance heads our way. And really, when you combine the two systems, the one that's coming through Wednesday and Thursday, and the one that's going to be with us Sunday, Monday, we're looking still at the potential for one to two inches of rainfall. Maybe a couple pockets of three inches here or there, but this model forecast has changed drastically as well from what we were talking about just earlier this morning and even over the last couple of days. The general idea is Interstate 40 South has the best chance of the heaviest rain, which is where we have the ongoing extreme drought in the dark shaded red areas.
All right, here's your 7-day forecast here. Hope you have a great night. Don't forget to check back in tomorrow morning to see how things play out. That's that's the thing about weather. You have to check in daily to see how things may change because the atmosphere is always changing and it's a forecast, something we're talking about in the future. So, we'll go 73 degrees on Wednesday down to near 70 Thursday, Friday, upper 70s to low 80s into the weekend. Another cold front may drop our temperatures as we get into next Monday and Tuesday time frame. Of course, you can always track the latest forecast weather updates as things do change. interactive radar, 7-day forecast, day parts, and of course, these daily forecast weather updates online at eastnweather.com, eastnweather.com, or more importantly, we're all traveling out and about.
