[00:00:00]All right. One of my end of day steams, guys. Right. This is my um my bigger puppet valve. I've got two being puppet valves, and this is a bigger one of the two. And um it it's always run, but hasn't run as nice as I'd like it. When I got the the smaller um puppet valve being uh a few weeks ago, it run beautiful. Absolutely beautiful, effortless.

[00:00:32]So, what I did, I compared the timing with these puppet valves and the position of the crank with the timing on the one that runs nice and it was different.

[00:00:47]So, I've adjusted it.

[00:01:04]Turn the gas down. Turn the gas down.

[00:01:16]Then I've changed that timing.

[00:01:19]That's effortless. I always used to have to give it a few good pushes. Get a really a lot of pressure up.

[00:01:26]Yeah, the pressure is up. It's a big engine.

[00:01:34]What about that?

[00:01:40]It's effortless now.

[00:01:43]Effortless.

[00:01:45]Turn it down too much.

[00:01:48]Look at that.

[00:01:53]I was always bit worried about this one.

[00:01:55]I thought there might be something wrong with it and there was a couple of them two gears with a couple of teeth out and uh there I've put them in the right position.

[00:02:14]It it used to run but it used to be steamy everywhere. It used to be soaking wet. Well, you're going to get a little bit of water, but it's running beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

[00:02:24]Yeah, pressure's up. Only 15 15 PSI.

[00:02:29]Uh I've got it on a small small burner.

[00:02:34]Um I have got the original burner and I I'll do that next time. But today, all I wanted to do was adjust the timing and um see if I could get it running as nice as my smaller one. And there this is absolutely running a peach.

[00:03:04]For a model, what you're talking, you know, 100 years old.

[00:03:09]to still be running like that.

[00:03:12]It just shows how well they were made in the beginning.

[00:03:47]It's got a little oil on.

[00:03:50]I'll just open it up to let a bit of let a bit of oil through.

[00:04:00]Always slows down for a second when you put oil in.

[00:04:04]So, I speeded it up.

[00:04:08]But yeah, experiment worked. Check the timing on the other one.

[00:04:15]Change this one to exactly the same timing. And now it's it's it's really good. Hardly any um excess steam coming out. There was a lot of it coming out before.

[00:04:29]Um running on a lower pressure. Look, we're down to 10 PSI.

[00:04:38]That was the original uh that's that's the original gauge, but someone soldered it up inside.

[00:04:46]Very pleasing model.

[00:04:49]I'm very happy with that.

[00:04:52]You know, sometimes you play about with something and make some adjustments and it makes no difference.

[00:04:57]And this one made a big difference straight away. So, I'm confident now that timing is bang on. And what I was going to do if if I could if I didn't do it, I was going to go a tooth at a time and try it again. But all I've did now is copy the timing on the uh on the smaller one.

[00:05:17]And uh it's quiet and all powerful. It's a big piston. Powerful engine.

[00:05:29]less than 10 PS high. Now, put a tiny little flame going just to keep it going.

[00:05:37]When I put a big flame in, it was uh I'm going to try and keep that pressure up to around about 10 PSI and then it run like this. I just turn that down.

[00:06:02]I want to connect the water pump up.

[00:06:04]It's not connected up, but that I'm sure that'll work. It's got a lovely big pulloff there. Bearing on the end.
