What Is Mentorship? Guidance For YOUR Challenges & Aspirations #shorts

[00:00:00]Let me explain first what is mentorship, what is sponsorship. So mentorship, I think most people understand. You need some guidance. There is a current issue or a challenge they're going through or there is some aspiration that you have and you want to move on and move ahead.

[00:00:16]So you feel that it is good to get some guidance and you seek out mentors either because you met someone somewhere or there is a mentoring platform available.

[00:00:24]You seek out mentors through them or your own organization offers you mentorship. So you kind of have those questions answered.

[00:00:33]But they are largely there is a problem, there is an aspiration, let's work on it.

[00:00:39]It's for a particular duration. Maybe it's just one-off conversation. I'm having this problem or this is what I'm like yesterday or day before somebody reached out to me saying that she was in the HR field and then obviously because of some uh layoffs she didn't have the HR role and while she was trying to find the HR role she knew her passion was in the space of art. So she started doing some venture around the space of art which she tried for a couple of years with a friend and all of that.

[00:01:07]But it didn't really sustain well. So now she's wondering whether she should start looking for HR roles or she should still you know focus more time on trying to further her art venture. So she said, "Can I have some time?" And I have obviously you know kind of spoke to her.

[00:01:24]Uh so that's mentorship.
