[00:00:07]Yeah, obviously um I think disappointed that obviously the confirmation of us being being relegated.

[00:00:16]I think overall mate, I'd like immensely proud of the team really. Um I thought the performance tonight was probably everything what this group and um representing they've represented for large parts of this year what the results have probably not not been what we all wanted. I think you see a group out there what was absolutely foot to the floor and left everything on the field and we can be critical and didn't take our moments tonight. It was certainly the chances we created, but this team have been through a hell of a lot this year.

[00:00:49]Um and there's been a lot of disappointment. There's been a lot of adversity what they faced and coming into the day's game with the jeopardy what was on it um against a team like Man City.

[00:01:01]Them scoring after 4 minutes, it it probably spoke volumes of this group in terms of what they are and what what they were really. So um like I said, proud of the team.

[00:01:12]I get some maybe critical of that, but the bigger vision for me is this group of they've absolutely given everything and where we can be critical is we've just we've fallen short a little bit on quality. Um but for sure they've absolutely given everything and again tonight epitomize that really. The difficult tonight to take that balance perhaps in staying in the game against a top side. I mean they're out, just need the win win tonight. Yeah, it was.

[00:01:36]Like I said, you know, I thought overall I thought we were superb. I don't know, you're Burnley playing against Man City who are going for the title.

[00:01:44]Only 2 weeks ago I watched the game against Liverpool another top team and and you know, they've got quality all over the pitch, but you know, I just I I felt that we was right in the game. We just the chances that we created here tonight, we just we didn't manage to to obviously execute. Um But like I always say mate, look, I'm never going to be critical of this team. Never ever ever for a lack of quality or missing certain moments. And I think tonight they epitomize that really. That was a group of men that just literally given everything and for what they've been through, for what was on the line tonight, um they did exactly that again really and I'm sad and I'm upset and um I'm disappointed with the way the season's gone of course and tonight brings a curtain down on on that and and I'm obviously sad for that, but I think my overriding factor is is that is it was a group it's a group that absolutely give everything and they do that every single day and I can't fool them for that and I never will fool them for that. That's the man I am really to be quite honest with you. So while others want to be really judgmental on certain things, I'll never be judgmental on that. They've given absolutely everything um and we've just fallen short and um that's just the way it is really. Now it's officially over. Reflect on on where it's gone wrong this season. What are the main sort of factors behind it?

[00:03:05]Look, >> [laughter] >> like like like I've said many a time, it's the challenge the challenge for us this year was humongous.

[00:03:16]And where it's gone wrong is we've not been able to overachieve.

[00:03:19]That's that's just it. We've not We've not like at the start of the season when when we're coming into the Premier League as a newly promoted side, the facts are we would have needed to overachieve. I would have needed to overachieve. These players would have needed consistently overachieve and we've not managed to do that. And that's where you can be critical.

[00:03:39]Um we've been competitive in certain moments. We've you know, we've not been clinical. We've not managed to get certain bits of momentum. And like I said, we've we've fallen short on on that really. Now it's confirmed you haven't sort of any more clarity over your future.

[00:03:54]No, like like like always, you know, I've I've been really consistent in in terms of it.

[00:03:59]The sacrifice and the work that my my my sole focus is this young group and trying to develop these young men, trying to guide them, trying to use my experiences to make them better and I honestly think I've done that mate. So that's exactly it and I feel like that that this group are exactly that and that's my main focus and that will continue to be. Of course we'll reflect.

[00:04:23]Some of them things are out of our control and some of them things are down to what we can do and what we can't do.

[00:04:29]That's just the club we've been, but um yeah, we've um we've fallen a little bit short. As always, a lot of adversity like I said to you the other day mate, a lot of adversity and a lot of challenges and they come thick and fast in what we do.

[00:04:47]Scott, you um you lost CJ Egan-Riley, Josh Brownhill, James Trafford as the season began at the core of the side really. Was it always an uphill battle in you think in the context of where the team was last season? You got you up in missing those key players straight away.

[00:05:05]Well, I I think last year what we created it was it's inevitable when when you go up down in the leagues, you you're constantly having to to drive something else. You're constantly having to new players come in and a big turnover of players and that's just where where we are as a football club and you're having to do that really. Of course they were a big loss.

[00:05:25]What we had last year was something which was absolutely incredible. We was rock solid in terms of not I'm not talking about a quality in terms of what we were.

[00:05:33]We we was rock solid in in in terms of togetherness. Three players left, we brought players in.

[00:05:39]Um but yeah, there was there was a challenge for us and I I won't just put it down to that. There was just a huge challenge. The fact with with with with you want to believe that or not, the huge challenge was for for us and a club like us to stay in this division. There was a huge challenge there. We didn't We've not We've not overachieved and that's just it. And finally from me, would you want to be leading this side next year?

[00:06:01]No, I think at this present moment in time, look mate, you know, I'm I'm hurting and I'm disappointed and I'm sad for the owners. I'm sad for the players um and that's just where I am really at this present moment in time and of course we'll we'll sit down as a group and we'll sit down with everyone. I've got an incredible relationship with everyone and in terms of owners and we'll sit down and work out what the best way to go as us as a football club to to keep moving in the right direction and make us better really.
