This year's theme was America 250 a tribute to service and sacrifice. The ceremony featured patriotic music, the playing of taps, a bagpiper, and a keynote address from retired Navy Captain military historian Steve Shepard. Memorial Day began back in 1868 to honor fallen Civil War soldiers.
