Sacramento security guard faces manslaughter charge after burglary turns deadly

[00:00:00]Would you pull the trigger? A Sacramento security guard is now facing felony charges after a deadly shooting on May 8th, which was during a burglary at a South Sacramento marijuana dispensary.

[00:00:11]Sacramento police said one suspect was killed and another wounded after shots were fired inside the facility near Florin Perkins Road. But the guard's attorney says this was self-defense and claiming nine masked men broke in and some were armed.

[00:00:31]I mean, I think any individual would think that their life is in danger. The security guard, 55-year-old Joseph Mills, is charged with voluntary manslaughter and weapons charges.

[00:00:42]Um, in the sense that I think there is more evidence to be collected. And so Mills is going to be making his first court appearance today, which is May 21st and it's at 1:30 p.m.
