Lots of Rain for Ohio Through the Holiday Weekend - ONW Weather Forecast 5/20/2026Añadido:
Good evening forecaster Mark Spencer from Ohio news and weather active once again on our rural first live storm track radar but good news no severe weather tonight. This is just a nice cool rain moving across a large portion of Ohio and this is all kind of settling off to the south and east. So this is about the northern extent of it here from just about Youngstown to Akron down towards roughly about Ashland there and then down down towards Columbus towards Sydney, Dayton, Cincinnati all seeing that rain. Some of these dry spots will fill in overnight tonight. It's a cool one out there today. Temperatures dropped in a hurry this morning.
I know a couple of you were probably in a hurry to get to work. Those temperatures dropped like it saw a state trooper sitting on the side of the highway and they pretty much stayed there. We're in the low 50s across northeastern Ohio, mid to upper 50s in parts of northwestern Ohio. Where it is raining it's generally in the low to mid 50s couple upper 40s out there however up 48 there in Millersburg and then further south a little bit warmer. We're generally in the low to mid 60s in spots couple warm spots there across far southern Ohio in the upper 60s to right around 70. We will see temperatures begin to drop off overnight as that rain continues on out. Otherwise cloudy skies across the rest of northern Ohio.
Temperatures will eventually fall into the upper 40s and low 50s. It'll take a little bit of time to get there but we will get there. So a chilly night in store with rain south and clouds north for the most part for the overnight tonight. Good sleeping weather. It's going to be really hard to wake up tomorrow morning with all of that. For your day on Thursday our daily forecast brought to you by our sponsor Canopy Management. We'll see showers across Southern Ohio in the morning.
These should clear out by the lunch hour and then we're going to see gradually clearing skies later in the day. It's going to take some time across Southeastern Ohio, probably late afternoon. We're going to have this northeast breeze across the state. It's going to be a little gusty out in Northwestern Ohio. Could see gusts of 25 miles an hour or so and that is going to keep things on the cool side. So near the lake shore, from Sandusky toward Toledo, upper 50s. Otherwise, we're looking at low 60s east and then inland will be in the mid to upper 60s across the rest of Northern Ohio and then upper 60s to low 70s for the most part across Southern Ohio. It will stay cool even well inland with that breeze across Northwestern Ohio coming off the lake. But a little bit warmer than today and a lot cooler than Monday.
We're looking at highs here on Thursday compared to Monday about 20 to 25 degrees cooler. So I it will be noticeably different. You'll definitely want a jacket as you head out the door in the morning. All right, let's take a look at our future radar. We're going to look at two of them. This one's going to take us through Saturday morning. So here's our rain tonight. It is going to kind of push off to the east and then and then eventually the southeast there and as we get into the morning, there's our rain here by morning. It gradually moves out and then look at this. We're going to clear out tomorrow night looking pretty quiet and then Friday, watch the south here. Here comes the rain south to north through the day. By the afternoon hours, it will pretty much be in the Cleveland metro, looks like. Models do differ a little on time. Could see some thunderstorms in there as well, but should be non-severe.
Friday night looking rainy and also into Saturday morning.
We'll see some rain too. Models also differ on the Memorial Day weekend. This model here showing some storms. That might be a little bit overdone there going into Saturday, but it's something to watch. This actually Actually, this may go into Saturday afternoon. My apologies on that. But, that might be a little bit overdone on on the storm threat there.
We'll keep an eye on it for you. But, models do differ quite a bit on the weekend here.
And as we go into into Tuesday morning here, this model is the American model, the GFS model. Here we are Saturday morning. It does clear us out during the afternoon hours on Saturday. Models differ on that a lot.
And then Sunday's going to be more sporadic showers scattered here and there. That might be a bit overdone.
Models do differ. As we get through Sat- Sunday night, rather, and into Monday, we'll see showers generally south on Memorial Day. And then into early Tuesday, we'll see things break up just a little bit. Then we kind of get this on and off chance for showers, maybe some storms heading into next week right now. But, a lot of that is likely going to change. We do warm up, which is good. We'll be fairly mild in the 70s for the most part across the area through the weekend. But, if you do have any outdoor plans for Memorial Day, you may want to consider some alternates depending on the day just just because we will see some rain.
I think Saturday right now is your best chance for rain, especially the first half of the day. And then Sunday has scattered showers for pretty much anybody throughout much of the afternoon. Monday, the chance for showers is generally going to be south of I-70 right now. We'll keep you updated on the very latest. Looking ahead the next 6 to 10 days, we're warming up. Look at here, above average temperatures across the Buckeye State as we enter early June. So, if you're looking for some warm weather, it's knocking on the door. It is coming.
Don't worry. And how do we look for precipitation? I got some good news there. If you're ready for a break, I am. I'm ready for a little break.
The yard could use a little bit of a break, too.
The good news is is we will get a little bit of a break. The bad news is we're still going to see rain. We'll be near average across Central and Southern Ohio in a little bit below average across Northern Ohio as we enter early [music] June. Don't forget you can track the latest anything, [music] pretty much. Uh showers, storms, temperatures, extended forecast, you name [music] it.
