Trying to finish in two days!追加:
Guess what's back from Perth?
Yeah.
Good day everyone. Welcome back. It is 4:30 this morning and I'm out here to try and catch us up on a few of the hectares that we've lost. And uh we'll see if it works out because it is meant to be windy today and I'd hate to take up all of George's hectares and Henry not be able to get out and spray. But Henry Yeah, Henry's the wind is still good. So hopefully the wind will be still good by the time Henry's paying to get spray this morning. Anyway, I got to fill up, check our oils, and get rolling.
Okay, so our oils have been pretty good.
Uh, every now is off and George has had to top up the hydraulic core just a little bit.
But we are Oh, there you go. Now you can see it. That's all good. And engine oil's actually been pretty good this year. We have had to top it up once in the canal and I think once in the barley and that's been about it. Uh, so yeah.
Anyway, with the wind, it is meant to be a horrible day today. Unfortunately, Henry, well, looking at the apps, it doesn't say it's going to get windy to about uh 9:00ish this morning. So, we're hoping that this morning Henry can get to work at 7, maybe a little sooner, and he will be able to get 100 hectares out for us. And 100 hectares today should keep George pretty occupied. We're 3/4 under oil. It should keep George pretty occupied. Um cuz of where we're going into.
So, we've got what I've got is this. I'm pretty sure it's just this one run that we're on here and I got two headlands.
So, I've got uh I'll do one I'll get all the way around to here. I'll have to turn around and go all the way back because the headland right behind me up against Will just there. Henry couldn't spray last night because uh the wind was just slightly drifting across his crop there. So obviously we didn't want to kill his crop. Uh so we've got two headlands that we'll have to come back in here and just finishing up and back.
Uh so yeah, we'll do that. Uh we've got 30 hectares out in Eblock. I don't think I'll get there this morning. Two headlands will keep me pretty occupied by the time George gets out here. When we get in, we'll see what our our uh seed is like. But I did bring the truck down last night full of everything ready to go because I had a feeling that either I will get it pretty empty or by the time George jumps on, he's going to need a fill. So, I got it all there ready to go so I didn't have to rush it out this morning and just create another headache for me.
And we are seating away. As you can see right there, everything's on.
Everything's functioning how it should and away we go.
Uh, so should probably get the map up.
But, uh, I've got I've worked I got 37 hectares on board and there's only like I'm not sure if that'll last me the two outside laps. So, the good thing is I start at the top here. I go all the way down. I turn around, I start coming back and then I go past the truck. If I'm not going to make it, I will be able to do a fill and then be able to then continue on after that. But yeah, we will uh we'll just see how we get on.
We are now on auto path and we are going right where we're supposed to go, which is fantastic. Now, I know that George is hoping that he gets out before I move into Eblock because I know that he'll think that I'll screw all of his uh his auto path up. I did watch his video, so I do know how to do it properly, but uh I I know that he'll be he'll be anal about it. So, we'll just see how far we get. It's now what are we 458 and there's lights up there. So, I think Henry might be brewing up and trying to get our tank out now. So, we'll see how he gets on cuz brewing that thing has been a bit of an issue by yourself. Just need to get those hoses sorted. They're coming today. Should be all right. Uh but yeah, like I said, 37 hectares, it's probably going to see me out just getting these outside laps done and I'll probably need a fill at some point. So, I don't think I'll get into the new paddic, but at least I'll get the headlamps done, which is uh which is my main goal. This is where I love to see the uh the auto path working. Now, I did rave about uh adaptive curves back when we had the old tractor and when we had the old cedar and all that. We were using adaptive curves and you know that was brilliant because I'd set it up and that's where we were going every single year which is essentially what auto path is. But auto path is a lot better cuz it goes to where you've put your actual you've driven your actual boundary. And when you're going along the straights like I was before there we were using auto steer. So we were just normally going, you know, whatever track it was, north headland, south headland, whatever you are. Bang, off you go. And then you'd go to your adaptive curves to go around here. The advantage of auto path is it's all just the one track. You don't need to switch lines or anything like that. Guys, don't get confused with which ways north and south. And uh this is where it comes into its element. It's going, you know, around going around all this sort of stuff here. See if I can get this map up a bit bigger. Hang on.
So you can see we're going around all this bendy stuff and it's just doing it all itself which is just you know it's just awesome to see the technology at work just going around and um always going to be in the same spot every year which is what you want. I'm on the second lap now and I made the whole way around on one tank of seed which was the lower tank of seed. I think I started that one at about 12 or 1300 kilos and my front tank had 1500. So, I just turned that other one off, but I've got the front tank on and I'll make it all the way around.
But Henry is out and spraying and he's able to do the other headland for me, which is fantastic. I'm hoping that I've got enough seed to go up and back on that. I definitely will. Maybe. I don't know. It'll be close. So, I've got 200 kilos left in the the big tank, and currently I'm at 1,00 kilos going around on my uh on my front tank. So, yeah, we'll see what happens. But another thing about today, so um couple things. Jake's coming out again because uh you know, we need need a bit more guidance on the uh the Haggy and uh just yeah, a few more things on that.
But the big news is I get the Chevy back. So mom and dad are bringing that back down from Perth for me. That is all done and completed. So this afternoon we should be able to see the big bad Chev with a bullbar, snorkel, spotlights, two-way Anderson plug. Uh what else?
Fuel tank. And I think that was about it. Yeah. So I'm I'm very excited to uh to see what it looks like.
Paddic is all complete. I lasted with my seed as you can see there.
Had about 300 kilos left to go, which is perfect. We have got it. Well, that was 31 hectares that I did. And now I'm going to go and fill up. And it is 6:30.
So George will be out here by the time I finish filling. And Henry, it was just on the outside lap of that paddic there.
So that 75 hector straight away that George has got perfect to go into. And then uh yeah, no, it should be good. Um hoping that it's a uh hoping it's a a good day of uh seating.
Heat. Heat.
You don't trust me?
>> No.
>> It probably is a bit close.
>> That's very close. I'll fold my eyes out before you fold your thing out. Not having our cone makes for a real guessing game when we're pulling up to this thing. Uh like at the front here, I'm I'm a bit close. At the back there, it's probably perfect. So, I just need to be a little bit like a foot or two more that way on the front of my truck and we'll be all good. Anyway, George is obviously here as you've seen.
Uh yeah, he's ready to roll. This paddic is 75 hectares and then there's a cheeky 30 hectares out the back of the pines there. So, Henry's gone out the back there. So, he'll do that. He will do a bit of F and then I'm not sure if I'll get him to go again or we wait until Jake's here the later on after the wind event has occurred or do I just get him to go spray again? I I don't know. I got to figure that one out. But yeah, we're getting close close to the end.
There's Oh, hang on. I'll work it out.
268 hectares to go and we're finished seeding for the year. Now, if that was in uh any other paddic on any other part of the farm, George would nearly do that today. Unfortunately, it is in But this this piece, this 75 is pretty good, but F block is split into four pieces, and it's just it's the slowest paddic of the farm. We always leave it for last. So, going to take us a It's going to take a little while to get that one done. He's going to get going. He's going to finish this piece and then I will fill him.
I think this piece is around 75 hectares. Uh re I need to fill him here.
He's out the back in E and F. I cannot get out to him. And I believe it's aboutund 120 115 hectares that he has to do out there. And we should be able to fit that all on board and he should be sweet and ready. Yeah, it should be all good. So we'll um I'll go back and fill this truck. Although, I'm going to just quickly walk up now and get my ute and just bring it down here. Uh, or maybe I'll Anyway, I'm going to go get my I need to get my headphones. The stack has fallen off this thing again. And unfortunately, I drove over the stack and uh this thing is just incredibly loud and uh just droning in your ears.
So, I need to have um headphones or ear muffs on in here. So, I'm going to walk up, get my ute, get it back down to here, take this up, probably go and grab Bill, come back, get my ute, and then I'll get this all filled and ready, and yeah, we'll just we'll have a good day.
So, I was going to go down and grab my ute, but we got a little bit of a change of plan. Um, the wind at the moment is still okayish. And now, by meanish, I mean it's still perfect. So, what we're going to do is do another tank with the boom spray and go and get spraying another tank out for George. Now, the issue with that is that that's the last tank for the day for Henry and that we need Jake with because the few things that are, you know, not working on the HGY to the correct versifications are things like turn compensation and holding its rate when it's going over part areas. It's not doing too well on that. So, it just needs tweaking in whatever setup or setting or anything in there. It's just going to be a setting that needs doing. But we need Jake here for that. And uh you know, Henry just needs a bit more coaching on the on the machine.
Jake was going to come out at about 1:00 because uh after 1 was when we were going to go we were going to do a tank now and then a tank in the afternoon, but the afternoon is now looking a bit more dodgy.
And yeah, so anyway, Jake's coming out now. I'm going down to the truck to go and get to Henry's truck to the Shepherd to bring that back up here cuz I need to take Grimoxone uh swap of Grimoxone out uh and then get that back down there for him. And hopefully hopefully by the time he's all brewed up and Jake's here, the wind hasn't picked up. It's currently 7:40 and the, you know, the apps were saying, you know, about uh 9:00 was when it was going to start getting crappy. But yeah, we are out in the back air flock. We're sheltered by trees. I'm hoping it'll be okay. But time will tell.
Unfortunately, our wind has picked up.
Uh there is a chance that Henry might be spraying. I'm not too sure, but up at the shed here, it's a bit windy. Down in Rash, though, it could could be very different. Uh but Jake will be out there now, so they'll be sorting things out.
I'm going to get the truck full. I don't think we need to do a fill with George until what's time 20 to 10.
Maybe I don't know around 1:00. We might finish one or two something like that.
We might finish that. So, we'll go we'll fill this. So, it's all ready now with 268 hectares to go. Uh we've did a full fill with him now. So, that'll get himund Let's just say it'll get him 100. It'll get him 115 hectares, but let's just say 100. I need to do one full one more full fill and that'll get him to let's just say 200 and then after that all I need is 68 hectares worth. I have got plenty to the point that I'm going to have leftover.
So, it's the way I want it. We're going to have a little bit left over. Maybe we'll have that 12 ton again, but uh yeah, maybe not. It might be a bit better this year. Might be a bit little bit less, but that's a good amount to have left. There's obviously still some left in the truck, but yeah, it's uh it's a good amount. So, we will not have to we will not run out of fertilizer. We will not run out of wheat. We're going to have uh leftover wheat as well. Uh bit, which is better than what we had last year. Last year, we obviously ran out. We had to borrow stuff from uh from across the road.
But yeah, it's it's good. We're coming to the end.
Coming to the end of seating.
Heat. Heat.
So, because he's only done 75 hectares, Yeah, it's not a full fill. He hadn't drawn from that one, but I topped that one up. He hadn't drawn from this one either, but I'll top that one up.
Hang on.
I need my other hand because when he drives along, it all settles.
What's going on there? Oh, there we go. Um, so yeah, we're just trying to get it all as full as he can cuz he needs to do that whole back piece without me coming out there, which he will get. We just have to make sure it's completely full.
Now, one issue George said he had was he had the grommet come out up here. So, we got grain everywhere.
The grommet for the hose, uh, sorry, for the for the camera cords had come out.
Um, not sure how, but yeah, obviously with it pressurized and cuz I filled this thing nice and full, the uh the tank's pressurized. It was just squirting grain out, he said. So, he had to had to fix that one. Uh, but other than that, he's all all good. Um, Henry's just down there. He's uh well, Jake's here as well where it's too windy to go spraying, but they're just just waiting basically. But, there was a few updates that needed to be done on the receiver apparently. So, we should have turn compensation working now. And the rates, I think they've just got to sort something out in the screen. That'll be all good. I think the stinking on there is working as well. That wasn't working.
That is working now. Um, yeah. No, it's all all coming together. Getting closer.
202 hectares to go. Then we'll be done.
Henry's just still waiting for the wind.
But, uh, as soon as the wind is dropping up, he'll get his 100 hectares out. Then he's got a 40 hectare brew. He's going to get that one out as well because we'll finish this tomorrow. So it's uh yeah, he'll he'll get it all out and done. So tomorrow he can focus on going and doing the atrizine on the canola.
Okay. So I've brewed up and made up a whole full batch because George I mean what he he's 202 so he should be I don't know like 95 or something like that when he finishes that that back piece. and we go to fill him again. But I just wanted to make sure that I had enough here. I don't want to come back and grab more stuff to go down. So, there will be extra. And I'm guessing there'll be about 2,000 L similar to what we have with barley left over, which it talk about the liquid that is, which I'm not all upset about at all cuz we'll just chuck it in uh drums again and then we'll spray it out over the designated zone of wheat at some point. So, yeah, not too upset about that. Uh, so that's all ready to go. I don't know when we'll do a fill. It could be tonight or it could be, you know, first thing tomorrow morning. I'll probably end up getting that truck down to the paddic today.
Uh, I'll just I just need to figure it out. I'm not I'm not too sure yet.
Anyway, I'm going to go and grab the not that I'll take you guys, but I'm going to go and grab Manny and a pallet. I need to go out to the paddic where the haggy had its little oopsy dupsy with the tire because we have still got a tire out there and we have got our our big jack stand and a whole bunch of blocks. So, uh I will go and grab that and bring that back and then uh yeah, that way it's not out in the canola.
Then we will just wait. I'm sure you can tell it's still really windy. Henry hasn't been able to get spraying yet, but hopefully it'll die down soon. fish, he'll be able to get going. Guess what's back from Perth?
Yeah, finally got it back. And doesn't she look nice? So, we've got a uh big Iran bullbar on the front there. Some steady lights. We've got a uh carbon off-road winch. So, I think this is a 17,000 lb winch.
They've relocated the camera to the front, which is awesome. Now, I can't put a You might wonder, you know, you've got such a big bullbarge on. Let's get a get a giant buddy. Put another spotty there. But now I believe that there's the radar for cruise. Now I would have thought that that was in the way, but apparently not. But if you put a spotlight there, it is in the way and you can't obviously have cruise control.
Now, one thing was, you know, how this was a rushed through water, how I told you guys what had happened. They uh they didn't put a two-way mount on here, so they end up having just put a um a clamp on, which I'm not upset about. Uh, and then it's just got the uh the classic good old fold down if I can do it onehanded fold down thing. So, what I've got I've got a longer whip at home. So, uh when we're doing going traveling, we'll chuck the longer whip on. Uh even around the farm, it might be better with the longer whip just so I can actually reach people. But I can't get in my garage with the long whip on, so I'd have to jump out every time. Fold it back.
got the big dirty snorkel on. So, this here is now just for looks. That doesn't do a thing. Now, you might wonder, you know, why do I have a snorkel? Uh when am I ever going through water crossings out and dry dusty cascade? It's not for water. It's for uh longevity of the motor and uh dust essentially. Uh when we've we've always put I'm pointing to one, but we don't have snorkels on that. We've always put snorkelers on our utes because uh we've dusted engines before and the you know you're drawing your air. This one's probably not too bad cuz as you can see it's quite high up, but other utes you know they draw around the wheel arch and that it's just been on a dusty road all the time. Yeah, it's just insurance purposes is um is why we uh why we put snorkels on. So, we got a I got a snorkel on and uh I'm I'm much more happy to have one on. Next thing is is there's Fox shocks on it. So, there's there on the on all four wheels. Uh you'll see on the back there, that is the old fuel tank. So, if we come around here, you'll see underneath, very similar to how the Ram was, we've got a new fuel tank right there. So, that's a Brown Davis. The other one was a Long Ranger. This one, I don't know. It seems to be a little bit better than what the what the uh long ranger was. The long ranger on the ram was lower. It was low the lowest thing on the car. But this thing here, you still could end up in strife with stuff hitting that. Anyway, we'll see what happens. Should be all right. Uh now in the back here, I've got airbags.
So there's airbags there. Fox shocks.
It's just airbag assist. So um I'm getting a canopy uh on this. Um, so obviously I want to make sure that the weight of the ride of the car is, you know, riding well. Same with when I've got, you know, a pallet on the back here, something like that of, um, you know, if I went to town to go and get that grain when this has a tray on, you know, this thing's a 5,500 GVM. So, uh, it probably would sag a little bit, pump the bags up, off you go. Perfect.
Now, in the cab, we've got ourselves a 12vt plug, everybody. Look at that. A Siggy plug.
You wouldn't have thought someone would be so excited for a Sig plug, but hey, here I am excited about a Sig plug. It's annoying that this truck didn't come with one, but anyway. Now, the thing I got to figure out is the two-way. So, that is where they've mounted the two-way, which I'm not overly happy about, but that's just what they do.
I've I've seen their the guys um social media. So, this is all done by Thor Mechanical in Perth. Well, I should say Mandra. Um, so I got to figure out where I mount this. And the only thing is, yeah, this dangles, gets your leg. Uh, sort of if you do that, then you you got to always lift it over the It's just Yeah.
Anyway, we'll figure it out. Right.
Enough drawing over the Chevy. What we're going to do is grab Bill here and go down and move George's ute again, but we're going to take the truck down.
Exactly what I did last night. I'm going to take the truck down and move it to a spot. George, then I'm going to go and move George's ute from where I had it.
So, George's ute is out the back piece.
Uh that's 70 something hectares. He's going to finish that tonight, but it's going to be like 9 10:00 at night. So, and I can't get out there to fill him. It's too sandy. So, he's going to finish that and pull up for the night, but he's going to pull the tractor around to where I'll park the truck, and then I'll be able to do a fill. Uh, yeah, he'll pull it up so it's ready to do a fill.
I'll get out in the morning. I'll go and do a fill and then I will fire up and get seeding and then, you know, just try and get those few extra hectares. I'll probably only get maybe 15 hectares once I've done a fill tomorrow morning, but it's something at least it's full. He'll be ready to go. George will get to work and off he goes. He'll be uh he'll be laughing. So, I'm going to leave the camera here, but I'm going to go and do that and then I'll catch you guys tomorrow.
