[00:00:05]I saw this just this morning and I want to go over a little bit of this with with all of you together.

[00:00:13]And then talk about something that is highly related that when I first heard this this morning and read this sadly and unfortunately, I was not surprised.

[00:00:39]The world was confronted by this form of internet-enabled abuse in 2024 during the mass rape and drugging trial of Dominique Pelicot and 50 other men in southern France.

[00:00:54]It was on a so-called dating website in a chat room called without her knowledge that Pelicot, I I don't know if I'm saying that right, I hope I am was able to connect with dozens of other men to instigate the rapes of his then wife Giselle. While drugged unconscious by him she was raped over 200 times by 70 men.

[00:01:19]Not all of whom could be tracked down by police.

[00:01:24]The Pelicot case briefly shown a spotlight on this dark corner of the internet but while Coco, the website involved, was shut down and public attention moved elsewhere this behavior did not disappear. A months-long CNN as equals investigation has uncovered a hidden online world where the commodification and amplification of sexual violence against women is flourishing.

[00:01:52]One porn site, motherless.com, is home to more than 20,000 videos of so-called sleep content uploaded by users with hundreds of thousands of views. The website, which has around 62 million visits in February alone and whose core audience is in the United States describes itself as a moral free file host where anything legal is hosted forever.

[00:02:22]The legality of some material posted is in serious doubt. So-called sleep content is categorized using descriptive tags such as passed out and eye check.

[00:04:00]Juliette Lewis, right? This is based on a real story except they tweaked it quite a bit. And and you're probably wondering, how does this have anything to do with what you just showed me?

[00:04:15]This they covered up something very important about the true story that this movie was based on. And I remember watching this and I was excited because Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor, who was my favorite band in the in the '90s had several songs on this album that now I look back on and I hear those songs in a completely different way.

[00:04:40]And if you don't know the songs that Nine Inch Nails provided for this soundtrack, they provided an original track titled Burn along with edited versions of Something I Can Never Have, which was one of their pseudo ballads on The Pretty Hate Machine and A Warm Place track 10 on The Downward Spiral.

[00:05:03]Now, I didn't know this when the movie came out and I was 16 years old because as a 16-year-old this stuff wasn't of interest to me.

[00:05:14]I didn't think to look into the background of what this movie was really based on but they sure tweaked it.

[00:05:22]Mallory Knox's real-life inspiration, Carol Ann Fugate, was only 14 years old when she accompanied 19-year-old Charles Starkweather on a notorious 1958 killing spree across Nebraska and Fugate became the youngest female in US history to be tried and convicted of first-degree murder.

[00:05:45]Whether she was a willing accomplice or a terrified hostage is still a major historical debate. Fugate has always maintained that Starkweather held her against her will after murdering her family.

[00:05:58]Why do you think under the direction of Oliver Stone, Mallory Knox was portrayed as a late teen, early 20s young woman and not the historically accurate age of Carol Ann Fugate of 14?

[00:06:14]Why do you think they made that change?

[00:06:18]To make it more acceptable, right?

[00:06:21]Can you imagine if everybody watching that movie knew that girl was 14? Yeah, they didn't want you to really know that.

[00:06:29]They didn't want you to experience how visceral that is because it all is about covering it up.

[00:06:39]It is a systemic disease not only in this country but around the world.

[00:06:47]I was the biggest fan of Nine Inch Nails you would ever know.

[00:06:53]And today the things I'm learning partly my own fault for not looking into this stuff.

[00:07:01]I have never been more frustrated and feeling more betrayed by not only the media but by those in the business who hush-hushed all of this stuff. Whatever happened to this?

[00:07:24]I've never seen so much systemic abuse of kids, girls as young as 12 by him and his crew. We all, the members of Hole witnessed it."

[00:07:47]Two decades prior to this.

[00:07:50]Because as someone who looked up to this man that's sure something I would have liked to known when I was younger. It might have had a big impact on my desire to listen to what it is he was saying.

[00:08:13]This stuff's been known for a long time.

[00:08:18]David Bowie collaborated with Trent Reznor.

[00:08:22]They went on tour together.

[00:08:24]They've done interviews together.

[00:08:27]She was 15.

[00:08:29]Now, you can read more of that article if you want and it talks about some of the things that were conflicting with this young woman's story but it's known that these two had what she called consensual intimacy.

[00:08:47]Moreover, the baby groupie scene was undoubtedly real and there's no question that, for instance, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and the Rolling Stones' Bill Wyman repeatedly committed statutory rape with underage groupies. The fact that an underage Maddox had an ongoing relationship with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page is also undisputed. It is heavily corroborated and well documented and pictures of them together are widely available. This is Lori Maddox at the age of 15, 2 years older than my daughter.

[00:09:19]I want to know how many people in the entertainment business kept their mouths shut our whole lives so that people like Jimmy Page could commit statutory rape.

[00:09:30]So that people like Courtney Love could keep her mouth shut when her whole band saw systemic abuse of young girls by Trent Reznor and his band.
